Xi lan quietly followed being Chaos. It was kind of funny she brought them here to relax, only relaxing was probably the farthest thing from both their minds. Since chaos's gaze was was currently fixed on the path in front of them he could freely reflex on the last couple of minutes. So he was correct in thinking chaos liked him. What was he going to do about it? He knew she was special and thus she deserved an answer from him. He also knew it was different then those he had almost dated in the past. Only... he didnt want to lose her as a cherished friend. Then again perhaps that was his problem, he was too afraid to lose people again so he didnt let any one past that first barrier. It was rather depressing really, plus Xi lan really didnt want to be the old uncle at the end of his life that just played with his family's kits or his friends kits. No he wanted to be a daddy, he wanted to watch them grow up threaten the boys or girls that tried to take his precious children away. Xi lan supposed there was the whole crack breeding route but then again that wasnt too entirely perfect. Sure it might be fun to carry the kits himself but that was probably the only way he would allow the whole thing. After all Xi Lan knew that he couldn’t mess up another foxes family. If they had a mate then he would feel like his careless actions had harmed their bonds and if they where single then he would want to take responsibility, only then that put them in a loveless matehood which caused unhappiness all around.
Suddenly he was drawn out of his thoughts by the fact they had finally reached the pond. Seeing as Chaos would probably be looking back at him again he slowly changed his expression to a warm and kind one rather easy since it was the main one on his face. He watched his companion in silence for a while watching as she tried to get on to her rock. The whole procedure cost a small smile to grace his face. Sure it looked a bit funny but Xi lan also knew that this wasn’t the time either to laugh. Besides chaos gave the whole thing a kind of graceful clumsiness, well if anything clumsy could be called graceful. Then again Chaos had a type of peaceful beauty that she carried though in her actions. She didn’t really have any interesting patterns but rather the simplicity of her natural coat and her clothes worked and complimented each other. This brought another smile to Xi Lan’s face. Who knew the phim could be a sort of fashion expert. He vaguely remembered getting that trait from his mother, and her sitting down and explaining the different colors and patterns that worked. Suddenly a small pang gripped his heart. No he needed to clear his head not cloud it all up. With a sigh he moved into position and closed his eyes clearing out his mind. Coming from an Asian like family he knew how to meditate like normal.

Still on her perch Choas looked at Xi Lan his face was warm and soft, then he smiled a bit and she felt her own heart flutter in response. Xi Lan was so warm and open with her. He looked like he was in though and then sighed and shifted closing his eyes. She worried something was wrong until his face cleared and he seemed at peace. Chaos realized that he was meditating himself and she did not wish to disturb him while he did so. Whatever he wished to think thought might be very important to him. With that thought firmly grasped in her mind she closed her eyes and allowed her own mind to clear and even to wander in to a day dream. She could see herself sitting on the porch of her shrine basking in the sunlight feeling its warm kiss even through her cloths. Laugher could be heard over the deer scare as small kits played in the yard. The breeze picked up the cherry blossoms and carried them across the air until they landed on the feathers of a phim. In her daydream she couldn’t see the phim’s face, but the markings on his coat and on her children were only too clear in revealing his identity to her. She could feel her breath catching in her throat in the real world. She shook her head slightly to clear it. Then she attempted to allow her consciousness to slip back into meditation. Disturbingly she found herself in another day dream. She was up in the trees of the cherry blossom tree resting on a branch with all of her legs hanging down and her wings resting in a relaxed state. Feeling a paw brushing her fur her dream self looked up to the cradle of branches above her only to have her head stroked both gently and firmly by the black paw of a dream Xi Lan. In the real world Choas bite her tongue and with a mental sigh banished the image. Was this was love was? To be so distracted by another that even meditation was a challenge. Now that she understood her feelings she was having a harder time controlling her wandering mind. She didn’t know how Xi Lan felt about her, perhaps he only wished for her to remain his friend and in a sense his student seeing as she never understood the ways of some foxes. She nibbled the inside of her lip feeling the happy wondrous feeling in her belly heavy and sink until it was like a rock in the pit of her stomach. Still Xi Lan was mediating so even though she knew she could not she did not wish to bother him. She remained in place on her rock and looked up at the sky quietly.

The wind calmy blew his hair back in forth in the wind and he listened to the sounds of nature around him. He had stopped truly mediating a few moments ago and was busy relaxing himself. His tongue briefly darted out to lick his bottom lip before he opened his eyes and dipped a paw in the pond playing around the Koi, some of which had darted up to see who had intruded on their sanctuary. Shutting his eyes again he knew he needed to come up with an answer to the whole situation in front of him. He didn’t wish to hurt Chaos at all this being her first experience with crushes, or maybe what ever else it was. With a deep sigh he thought of his elder brother again. Meris would know what to do wouldn’t he, or Kaname or Morin. Hell Amatsu probably knew how to handle this better than him. Well he just had to think of what he told Chaos, he thought she was very pretty, beautiful even. Some times he just found him self staring, she also made him blush a feat only one other had before. He could see himself having children with her and he had agreed to the whole Mate agreement earlier didn’t he? What more was he looking for a written invitation. Lavender eyes opened again and looked out at Chaos, he wondered what was crossing through her mind as she looked at the clouds.

With a deep breath, he kept his gaze out to where Chaos was sitting wondering how to phrase the next words he wanted to come out of his mouth. Vague thoughts of how Morin and Kaname asked their mates to take the first or second step briefly crossed his mind however every circumstance was different wasn’t it? Ugh it was just a simple little statement why was it affecting him so much, he was pretty sure his stomach was waging war on itself, probably plotting to over throw him as their master for all the trouble he was causing it. “I was wondering…” he began finally tearing his eyes away to the small little lotus flowers slightly swaying in the water. “If you wanted to try with me, see if we would be good as mates? No what I mean to say is…” he trailed off. It wasn’t as he was asking her to be his life mate, to never look at another but him. “I think a better way to phrase it would be, would you go out with me, to see if maybe some day in the future we would be good choices for a mate. I’m sorry for my lack of answer for so long, I was thinking about all sorts of things” Xi lan asked his eyes flickering back to hers. Hmm this wasn’t very meditating worth conversation was it?

When Xi Lan started to speak she looked down at him and gazed into his dark purple almost black eyes framed by his black fur and light purple designs on his face. He looked so handsome it was almost painful to gaze at him. As he spoke her lump that developed in her stomach crumbled away. Chaos had no idea what to do or to say. For a moment she simply looked at him not even remembering how to breathe or blink. All at once her mind wrapped around what he was trying to say. Xi Lan wasn’t ready to have a mate yet, but he was willing to spend time with her and see if they were like a good match. It was like being set up by a family for a pairing, thought rather than the families being involved Xi Lan wished to deal with the matters personally. Nodding quickly up and down several times she remembered to breathe. She fell forward and hopped down from her meditation spot with a familiar ease of practice. It was awkward to get up but hopping down was very easy. The bell at her neck jingled as she landed next to Xi Lan and looked at him. Her abundant curls in her eyes. She moved them aside with a paw and looked at Xi Lan feeling a warmth pool throughout her body. “Yes I would very much like to try that… with you. ” Her smile took on a shier look. “you need not worry about a delayed answer with myself. I am certain you had more important issues that were on your mind than thoughts of my words.”

She had a blush over her cheeks as she looked up at Xi Lan. He was so kind and good to her. He knew so much of the world and he even was willing to see if they were compatible as a pair. Perhaps she should ask him what other things he had been thinking of. She hoped it wasn’t the sad things he had been worried of when she had first met him earlier on her walk. Perhaps she shouldn’t ask. Not really sure what to do in such a situation she tried to think of what she should do. He had seen some of the cherry blossoms and he now knew the reflection pond. Perhaps a better tour of the shrine was in order? Or a stroll on the other sections of the grounds? Chaos didn’t really want to do that. She wanted to go flying and do flips in the air and smile and dance and yell out that she was the luckiest fox in the world. Instead of doing anything so humiliating she kept looking at him. “Perhaps.. if you would allow it.. Might I kiss you?”

Xi lan felt his mind eventually calm as he got out his question. Well it was now in the open. He wasn’t the type that felt better when they got things off their chest as he preferred to keep his problems to himself, after all his problems where small and inconsequential to him when he thought about helping his friends. Speaking of which he was to see his friends soon, a quick question floated through his mind of should he bring Chaos along to meet them. Of course she hadn’t answered his question just quite yet. Slowly blinking his eyes and covering his dark violet orbs he waited patiently for her answer. It was very new to him he admitted. It was the first he was daring to bridge that gap he kept in front of everyone. She looked rather surprised and taken back a bit at his question but then again he had waited a while to ask. It probably took her by surprise; then again he didn’t know what feelings she held towards him or how they had developed. When she nodded a brief smile flashed across his features before they slowly morphed into a joyful smile. He watched as she quickly jumped off her meditating spot and had his eyes concentrate on her bell. He knew he was going to forever associate that sound with Chaos. Seeing as some hair had escaped her brief attempt at pushing it back he reached forward and tucked it behind her ear. Well he supposed this had been a very eventful trip indeed it was a good thing he had left for that walk.

Going back to his earlier comment should he ask her to come with him to meet Morin and the others? Probably not this time, he finally decided figuring once he got a better idea of how their new relationship was to fold out then he would show her to his best of friends and to his older brother. Well maybe not Meris depending on what mood his elder brother was in when they eventually met him. Of course he supposed the meeting was inevitable, she should know what her in laws where to be like and Meris would want to know any possible additions to the family. Suddenly he was flushing a light pink as Chaos’s newest question entered his brain. K-kiss him, well that was definitely a new request. Hmmm he didn’t see the harm in it. Was it a bit soon, then again chaos was hardly one that followed his norms. “I…” he began. “I would allow it, I mean if you want you can” after all what harm could come from it.

She felt embolden by her joy. Smiling she leaned in and gave Xi Lan a kiss softly on his cheek. She was blushing horribly but she still managed to do it. “Thank you.” She moved next to Xi Lan like she had when she had first gotten to know him. While next to him she smiled and looked at the pond. “I am very happy Xi Lan. Truth be told I had several wonderful ideas what to do for the day, but I seem to have forgotten them.” Chaos looked down at her feet. She was blushing. Thinking she wondered what they could do as a couple. Perhaps she should go speak with her other phims she had met. One of the other phims was also blue and very nice there was a grayish one who while not 'nice' persay was at least very very honest. She wondered if she should meet members of Xi Lan’s family.

She wrapped her tail around herself and closed her eyes still smiling. It was amazing sitting next to him. It was a strange thing. Now that he had asked her to be with him and see if they were a compatible mate Choas felt better about something. What it was she couldn’t exactly put his paw on. Like she had a spot in her heart that had been empty and black, now it was full and clean. Her mind questioned itself as to whether or not this was normal. Perhaps not, but even if it wasn’t it still felt like a good feeling. She enjoyed it. The only thing she could see was being able to be happy with him. Logically she knew that there would be ups and downs, but it was so hard to think of anything negative when everything was so amazing and perfect right now.

lol its fine with me *nods*

Xi lan let a quick flush of red cross his face before it disappeared as Chaos leaned over at gave him a kiss on his cheek. Not exactly what he was thinking when Chaos had asked him but none the less it was rather Chaos like in its own way. “Its perfectly fine to have forgotten everything for the day.” He replied and then stopped. He knew exactly what he wanted to show her. It was near here and he could introduce her to his tea as well. Of course the main thing was the ice caves, He was pretty sure she would like them. After all he could hardly go take her to meet Meris now. After all there was a pretty good chance he had absolutely no clue where his brother was and he didn’t want to rush anything. After all this was both a bit new to both of them right? He turned towards Chaos and wondered what she would think of the idea.

“I think I might have a place to go, its a little hot springs area with money’s and tons of snow and temples. Plus there is this cave that glows blue in the moonlight. I believe I want to show you? If that’s okay with you of course, I’m fine spending the day here as well. Of course its also a good distance away from here as well so we’d have to fly for a while” he pointed out. He had never really gone flying with Chaos before so he wasn’t sure if she liked long flights or anything. “Of course we don’t have to, I am sure there are plenty of things to do around here as well” a small smile graced his lips. “oh I should probably show you where I live as well” he chuckled, come to think of it he actually lived closer over to where Morin lived which wasn’t that close perhaps he should think about moving.

Her head cocked to the side near him as she kept her face looking at the pond while her eyes stayed and caught the edge of Xi Lan’s paws since she was sitting right next to him. He had a place in mind to take her? It sounded amazing. She had seen a hot spring once but Chaos never had the pleasure of entering one. She wondered if she would need a blanket if there was lots of snow. Snow was always cold and Chaos found that she did not enjoy the feel of snow when it managed to worm its way into her garments and melt, soaking her fur only to have it freeze later should she stop moving. Still Xi Lan wanted to show her this place so Chaos hoped that it was beautiful and enjoyable. How exactly was it that a cave could glow blue? The vixen wasn’t sure but that certainly sounded interesting.

“Yes I would like to go with you. As long as you don’t mind stopping every so often to rest along the way if the distance is incredibly far.” Chaos shifted. She was a strong enough flying but she thought Xi Lan was a strong flier than she by far. He seemed well muscled and his wings where stong. She had no doubt that he would leave her in the dust if he chose to fly fast enough. Perhaps she would be lucky enough to see where Xi Lan grew up she was looking forward to seeing the areas that Xi Lan played in as a kit. Perhaps she would have the chance to meet his family. Even though she had been warned of his more.. strict members of his family she still wished to meet them all and introduce herself as presentable.

He let out a soft smile and nodded. Well now that they had a destination in mind, he had to think of a place to stop off and eat. They would probably get hungry half way there since it would take until nightfall to get there almost. Well at least he thought it would. He wasn’t too used to flying with other foxes other than his group of friends and they could all keep up with him with ease. Chaos he didn’t know enough about her flying abilities. Well he would learn on the trip and let her set the pace. Stopping was no problem as well. Plus it was night time the cave was the prettiest and he had a cave around there in which he could start a fire. Living around daevas one learned lots of things about the heat producing element, such as how to deal with a fire that started or how to even start one.

“I don’t mind stopping. Just tell me when ever you need to take a rest or get hungry.” Xi lan replied. He looked around at the shrine one last time before jumping and launching himself into the air. Flying a few feet he perched in the tree and looked down at her. “Want to grab anything here while we’re at it. Or I guess is there anything you still need to do?” he asked. It was part of the reason he landed in the tree just in case she had something to do. The other reason was to get him in a position to leave and then while he waited for her to answer figure out what their course of action was. He needed to meet up with Morin and the others soon but a quick stop by his Den after the hot springs and cave would be okay, or at least one of his Den’s. He’d have to find another one closer to here but that could wait a bit later too. However not too close as he was sure his grandfather was still sending Daeva after him and Meris in an attempt to bring them back home.
PostPosted: Sun Feb 12, 2012 6:14 pm

Xi Lan’s sudden take off startled Chaos and she found herself backing up a few steps before looking up to see him landing in a tree. Anything she wanted to grab or still needed to get done? Blinking stupidly for a moment it took the blue phim a moment to figure out what Xi Lan was talking about. As the pieces clicked into place she straightened. “Ah yes. I will grab something light to take with me….” Chaos hurried off into the shrine, her bell jangling loudly in her rush. She did not wish to delay the journey any more than it took to get some light food for travel. She didn’t want to be burdened down with heavy travel preparations. So something light, but filling? Nothing quick to perish that was for certain. Wrapped rice balls were a simple enough answer she supposed. Did she have anything else that she had to do in the shrine that couldn’t wait for a few days? She shook her head as she trotted along. She could clean and set things up for company to visit later. After all it was only humans who stopped by and they would probably not even notice if there were weeds in the garden.

Of course there were a number of little things that always needed to be done around the shrine. She banished all those thoughts. As she moved down the shrine hall she quickly moved to her little food storage room. She quickly picked up some of her wrapped rice balls and placed them in a small pouch that existed in the sleeves of her garment. After she tossed in four or five so she could share with Xi Lan she turned and headed back to where Xi Lan was waiting. As soon as she got outside again she looked up at him. “I believe I am set.” She cast a quick glance at the shrine thinking she forgot something, but of course she had no idea what it was. She used a paw and moved her hair out of her face so she could look up at Xi Lan. “Shall we go? I do not wish to delay our departure and make us late.” She smiled happily stretching her wings so that she would feel comfortable to fly.

Xi lan sat patiently watching as Chaos ran off. He always liked going out and doing things with friends. This would mean more right since Chaos was more special as a friend. With a smile he shook his head and absent mindedly played with the flowers. Perhaps he could do something like a floral arrangement when he took Chaos back. Girls always like flowers and he often remembered his mother teaching him how to arrange them when he was little. Then again Chaos was different from most females, perhaps she wouldn’t like it. Ah it was definitely an option to store away for later. Of course the bell was also pretty amusing Xi lan decided, you could definitely tell where Chaos was. Of course with enough experience and having the bell on you enough you could also stealthily go somewhere as well he mused. He gave a friendly smile as Chaos returned and nodded his head as he caught himself watching her again. “Alright, yes lets go” he replied

Xi lan smiled as they where finally ready and launched himself into the air from the tree. He loved flying, it was in his opinions one of the best things ever, well next to tea and friends of course. The thought of being free and going where ever you wanted only held back by your strength and determination often made him smile. Of course he was willing to blame Kaname for this particular trait. He would often coax Kaname out to go flying to see the world through the moons eyes. Mostly because the only time they could disappear freely was at night strangely enough. He did admit it was a bit chilly in the air. The wind had shifted while Xi lan had been visiting Chaos and a storm was promised, or more threatened to come. It was perfectly fine with him as flying at any time made him happy. However he knew Chaos might not feel the same way as him. He kept her in the corner of his eye before starting on their impromptu journey.

Watching Xi Lan fly was enjoyable in and of itself. Jumping in the air to join him, Choas was entranced by his wings when she dared to look at them. While he was flying she couldn’t help but think of the night sky on a full moon when the sky looked a bit blue or purple when you were looking up at it. A few time she thought she caught him looking at her but she quickly turned her gaze ahead and focused on flying. It was a bit chilly and the air pressure felt a bit unfriendly to Choas’s wings. If things progressed to a storm she knew she would have to land. Battling the strong winds was something that she really couldn’t manage. Xi Lan probably could since he seemed so strong and bold, but Choas could only picture herself being tossed around like a rag. The thought made her shudder beneath her clothes. She only hoped the weather wouldn’t get that bad. With her silent pray off and on the winds where only the modieties would pick it up she took the time to look around.

The trees of the shrine were now far below and would disappear soon. The paths the humans use where still visible, but seemed so much smaller. Choas loved the air she felt safe in the clear blue skies. It was incredible to feel the wind racing along her feathers and through her hair. A smile crept on her face and a small giggle escaped her. Flying was the one time those who raised her weren’t really around and she only flew in private so they could never judge her. She dipped her wings so that she would sway in the air before she remembered that Xi Lan was there. She rolled back in the air toward him and glanced back him. Her blue hair obscured most of her vision. She angled her head so she could see through a hole in the hair veil that had formed. Xi Lan didn’t look like he was upset or displeased with her in the least. That made her happy, no more than happy it seemed they both loved to fly which made her like him even more.

He closed his eyes briefly to feel the air on his face and snuck a look back at Chaos. She seemed to be looking back at her Shrine and he let a small smile form on his lips. The small little relaxing place looked different and smaller up here in the sky, which was to be expected. Everything looked so different up here and he absolutely loved it. However it was time to stop relishing in flying again. After all he had places to go and vixens to take on dates, that only being Chaos. Xi lan made a motion with his body like he was asking Chaos to dance. He gracefully moved in the air and lightly brushed her tail with his own wing before doing a roll back to his original flying spot. He wondered if she would go for the dance and playing. Sure it would make them a little later to their destination but the whole fun was in the journey there too. Besides he often didn’t get to play all that much. Morin and Kaname where often way too serious, sure he could play with Amatsu in the air but it tended to get him weird looks.

He’d also play with Meris once upon a time when he could get the grump meister to lighten up and sneak away from his grandfather. Meris would first do it to piss of their relative but eventually he’d cheer up and actually play once in the air. However before he could really dwell on his brother all that much a gust of wind caught him and caused him to go tumbling back past Chaos again. Luckily it seemed to have only hit him. He let out a laugh knowing he must have looked quite silly and flew back to leading again not upset in the slightest after all flying was always unpredictable in some ways. He’d love to fly and talk with Chaos though once the wind wasn’t so playful as well at the moment, it did making talking just a bit hard. Besides it was fine to observe modiphims every once in a while and just enjoy the motion of flying. Perhaps Daevas where right at times and Phims where way too playful for their own good, after all it seemed even the grumpiest phim enjoyed and lightened up while flying.

Watching Xi Lan motion to her Choas smiled when seemed to be asking her to join him. A part of her want to laugh. That moment was short lived however when Xi Lan dropped back toward where she was and brushed his tail against hers. The simple contact was enough to make her hart skip a beat and her wings involuntarily contracted. She quickly opened them again with a wide grin on her face she followed him. It seemed he was just fine with her playing antics. When he dropped back to her pacing the second time he seemed awkward for a moment. She had some concern until he passed her again. She had felt the air seem a bit rougher for a moment. Thankfully she seemed to be at just the right spot to avoid that particular thermal that might or might not have been the cause of Xi Lan’s second drop back. As he took the lead again Chaos pushed herself forward and up so that her shadow would be above Xi Lan. Then she closed one wing and allowed herself to spiral down and to the side so that when she opened her other wing she was flying a almost level with Xi Lan off to his left.

Laughing mostly to herself since she didn’t know if Xi Lan could hear her over the wind she started to allow herself to glide a bit lower down so that she could fly under Xi Lan. It was amazing to feel the wing under her wings. The rhythmic sound of her wing beats was soothing as she again climbed in altitude on Xi Lan’s right side. Now that she had flowed up over him and circled him she wondered what she should do next. She didn’t want to tire herself out too fast for the long flight, but not enjoying herself on the way seemed almost criminal to her. The air was pure, the sun was warm, the winds were gentle, and for the first time in a long time she was with someone that didn’t scold her for playing in the air. Even if when Xi Lan wanted to show her was dull Chaos didn’t care. She had this flight and it ment more to her than Xi Lan would ever, and could ever know.

XI lan smiled seeing as Chaos was going to play with him. It was good she had a more childish side to her. One should never be totally an adult; you got old and bitter way to fast. No it was good to still have childlike tendencies at time. Besides playing was always a good way to get rid of stress and Chaos looked like she had been quite stressed today. It would be good to let some unwind and what better than playing in the air. After all it was a natural feeling for phims who were supposed to be somewhat playful in the first place. Watching her spiral he matched his own moves to almost a mirror image of her repeating what she way doing only going straight instead of down and towards their destination. He did a sort of barrel like roll around her so that she was level with him again and smiled, as if it was a game and his goal was to keep her level with him. He gave a sweet yet very mischievous smile and tucked his wings freefalling for a bit, he knew the air pretty well from earlier on in the day and he knew if he inched just a bit closer to the right he would hit a very nice thermal. Finally reaching it he poofed open his wings and zoomed straight up In the air with ease. Laughing he twirled back to Chaos’s height again.

Unfortunately they were supposed to be outrunning a storm to some extent so unfortunately it was back to serious flying again. He did want to get to the area before sunset, the ice cave was very pretty during the moonlight but the colors dancing and gleaming where mostly shades of blue whereas at sunset they were all sorts of fascinating colors. He reckoned they had been flying for at least fourty five minutes if more going of the positions of shadows and the sun. Truly it had felt a lot less internally but time always went quickly when one was having fun. He would give about another 45 minutes before he decided they should take a break maybe sooner if he noticed Chaos was getting tired. After all they had done some pretty fancy aerobatics
