Mai looked down at the slope with a cautious eye. It didn’t look to dangerous but then again snow was rather slippery. She almost felt like saying she could get down by herself but then why turn down free help when it was offered. Hoping he would be true to what he had said she slid down not too worried about slipping. Sure enough part of the snow had turned into more ice like and she slipped a little bit.

Rehnard saw her slip and as if by reflex, bolted up the slope his claws digging into the slippery ice, until he reached her using his body and tail to steady her. "ya know I didnt intend to just run up like this you should have just slid down." he sighed not wanting to scold her for this."just remember that for next time okay?"

Mai smiled happy he had actually helped her. “well I figured I would do a bit more sliding before you caught me but thank you very much for the help” Mai replied pushing herself to her feet. “Snow is still as treacherous as I remember” Mai lightly chuckled mostly to herself. She wished as well she had slipped a bit further on down. Even though Rehnard said that he would help her it wasn’t nice to put him under all this work.

Rehnard looked at her with concern."your still well enough to walk right?" he asked letting himself slide back down holding mai to allow her to slide down with him slowly stepping onto the snow when he arrived at the bottom."alright then lets get going.

"Oh yes I am quite fine, it was just a little slip after all" Mai replied. Once they where at the bottom Mai straightened herself up and fixed the bow in her hair. It had gotten all messed up in her slip. Normally she didnt care too much about her appearance but getting the bow back on, a precious gift from her younger sister, was a pain in the butt she wished to avoid. "Alright lead the way Mr. Rehnard."

Rehn nodded."good wouldnt want you to be hurt" hestarted towards the direction they were going, a large set of towers,they would have to pass through a human dwelling. a city. He had been trough here several times, It always snowed in the city, yet peplewere happy, they didnt seem to startled to see a fox walking around. It was a relaxing place to him. and provided a daeva, phim or guardian didnt suddenly appear nobody would start a fuss."theres a human city down a few miles, were gonnahave to pass through since the other ways all involve crossing frozen lakes,or crossing a cliff.

Mai looked over at him and titled her head to the side. A human city would definitely be interesting to see. She had never gone to one before but her family had passed around enough horror stories to keep her cautious she supposed. However Mai was nothing but very curious part of the reason why she was seeing what different climates she could adapt too. “I’m perfectly fine with that” she spoke showing she really didn’t mind. She truly wondered if humans were as bad as her parents had told her. Then again maybe humans where like modifoxes and there where all sorts of different types.

Rehn nodded andd started towards the lights, making his way into the city. He noticed Humands walking around as if the two weret there. He knew this was because many normalss traveled here for the warmth, and some even ended up becoming owned by humans as pets. His eyes drifted around until he saw an alley way that led all the way through."dont go near that alley..."that was the easiest place to corner them.

Mai nodded, that was relatively easy enough to remember. Of course she didnt really like too small of spaces, and the alleyway didnt look very inviting. Of course this was just her opinion. Besides at the current moment she was following Rehnard. She wasn't the type to get distracted and run of towards something else. Well not with out really good cause to. "alright, I shall keep in mind to steer clear of it" Mai replied.

Rehnard nodded and continued to walk."If You wanna stop and see anything let me know. I dont mind." he smiled a bit looking back at her, she was so cute,her hair was unique. He hated to admit it but He was starting to like this girl. while he was looking back he slipped on an icy spot and rolled foreward

"alright, but dont worry I'm good." Mai smiled, after all when she was little her family hadnt really liked to stop to look at things so she often just took in as much as she could from walking. "Oh watch..." looks like her message didnt reach him in time as she ran forward to help Rehn up. "looks like its a bit slippery around here. You're okay right?"

Rehnard looked up at her and nodded, he was covered in snow but he was okay, he shook the snow off his head and body."Im fine I just lost my train of thought. Its my fault I should have been paying better attention."how was she making him do this?

She looked him over to see if he was actually okay and nodded. "well everyone slips eventually I'm just glad you arent too hurt over it. Dont beat your self up though over being distracted there are lots of interesting things in the world. Its only natural that your attention goes to explore it" Mai stated. It was her fault at being distracted by a pretty hair clip in one of the human building's windows that hadnt allowed her to warn Rehn in time.

Rehn shook his head."No one who works to protect oters needs to always be wary of their surroundings even letting their guard down for a second could be fatal."he turned his back to her and continuing forward."after all Its not like me to let my guard drop so much that I would trip like that" He looked in the window her head was turned towards, and saw the clip. he shook his head and continued walking.

Mai turned her attention back to him and blinked a bit. “Well even so you should at least have some time to unwind being alert all the time would eventually burn some one out I think. Its good some times to lower your guard when you know your pretty safe because then you can rewind a bit” Mai nibbled on her lip and wondered if Rehn ever unwound. Being tense all the time really wasn’t good for ones health in the long run, and she would hate it if he got sick or something worse.
