"...I...I should have everything we need in my room. Let's go back." As she spoke, she continued to stare down at the Apple-orange, watching it's futile escape, and by futile, she meant that the thing keep bumping into either Mitsu or herself. Finally, the Baku unlinked her arm from Mitsu's long enough to edge the fruits to the side so that they could finally get past.
Looping her arm back to where it had been a moment ago, Xiu smiled and gave the other ghoul a light tug to direct her back the way they came. "Do you...er, usually eat the stuff here for lunch?" Her nose wrinkled as she motioned towards the cafeteria, "Does it just look strange, or does that reflect it's taste?"
Considering how her family was rather wealthy--which wasn't unusual for demons, it seemed--her parents had absolutely balked at the idea of their daughter eating the cafeteria food. Honestly, that was probably part of the reason they had her learn to cook and bake at a young age.
...The other half of the reason was probably to attract a good boil of a reasonable bloodline, but that was the part that Xiu ignored and decided she could do without.

Mitsu waited for Xiu to push the apple orange aside before she took hold of the baku's arm again. As they started their way out of the cafeteria Mitsu looked back at the food they hadn't bothered to eat. "Its....interesting. Some of its not bad and some of its....just as bad if not worse than it looks." Mitsu wasn't terribly picky but there were quite a few things in the cafeteria she refused to eat. Generally though she was trying to save her money so she often didn't have to worry about.
At least their little walk wasn't in vain. Mitsu felt like her mind was a little clearer, like she had managed to purge some of the bad feelings from the dream. "What should we make when we get back?" Mitsu would try to help where she could, though she didn't quite trust herself with being left to make something on her own.

"So...so it's a gamble, basically? Depending on what's served up for lunch that day?" The thought made Xiu shudder slightly, and she gave Mitsu's arm a little squeeze. "Why don't you ever try making lunch yourself? You could always eat with me too, or...ask aniki, maybe? He can cook a little too, I think?" At least, she knew that Shun made good sushi, which was definitely a huuuuge step up from the cafeteria food.
Humming thoughtfully, Xiu considered what she had back in her dorm room. "H-hm...did you just want toast? We could also make...waffles? With fresh booberries!" It was one of her favourite breakfasts, actually.
When they reached her room again, she unlocked the door to let them in. Arashi, who had still been dozing with Milo, perked up at the sound and opened a single eye to regard them as they entered. It was as if he were welcoming them back...or asking where exactly they had been at this hour.

"I guess it can be." Mitsu nodded. "I've...never really thought of making my own lunch." Not to mention she wasn't certain she would be good at it. Even with something simple something could go horribly wrong. Eating with Xiu sounded nice though. Maybe Mitsu could bring over some things and Xiu could show her how to make a nice lunch.
"I..I didn't know Shun could cook. What does he make?" They mostly spent the evening hours studying together and never really shared a meal time.
"Toast would be-" Mitsu started to say until Xiu mentioned waffles. Ears perked with avid interest at that point looking to the baku. "Y..you can make waffles?" Her brother used to make waffles for her for breakfast but Mitsu never really learned how. Kind of sad that the blind man could cook and she couldn't even make spookies.

Xiu seemed to have the same idea as Mitsu, as she brightened up and grinned at the ghoul. "Then...why don't you come over sometime? We can eat lunch together, and I can teach you a new recipe every time you come over. We can start with sometime simple!" And this time, she would be very, very careful to watch and ensure that nothing went wrong. The Baku still wasn't sure what had happened to the spookie batch last time, but Shun's face...well, that had been explanation enough.
"Aniki? I know he can make sushi, but I'm not sure about anything else." She tapped her chin with her free hand and hummed, "Sushi is...definitely interesting though. It's good, but the fact that it's raw fish is...a little strange for me."
The Baku blinked as Mitsu suddenly perked up at her suggestion. "Yes, they're...they're pretty easy to make! Did you want to make some, then?" Did Mitsu like waffles? She would have to keep this in mind for future reference if that was the case!

"Sushi..." Mitsu had seen Shun pick up Sushi at open house. She had no idea he knew how to make it. Raw fish really didn't sound all that bad, though Mitsu wasn't completely apposed to the idea of raw meat.
However, at the moment, waffles sounded delightful. Her tag began to wag slightly at the thought. "Waffles sound really good. It's been a long time since I've had any. My brother used to make them." It was a happy memory she had. One that didn't make her feel so sad to remember.

Of all people Xiu had expected for Mitsu to bring up, her brother had been the last. After seeing what had happened in the dream...well, she wasn't sure what happened to her brother exactly--was he missing? Or was he...?--but at the very least, she assumed that the werewolf boil wasn't around anymore. For Mitsu to bring him up...she really was a lot stronger than she first appeared. She even seemed happy, and the ghoul's happiness was contagious as Xiu began to smile as well.
"Waffles it is, then! Do you like booberries too, or would you prefer some other topping?" She was sure that she had syrup as well, which they could use if Mitsu liked it. Personally, Xiu adored the stuff, but that was thanks to her giant sweet tooth. "I'll show you how to make the most fluffy waffles ever!"
Removing her jacket, she tossed it onto a chair before striding straight into the kitchen, snatching out various tools and ingredients from all the cupboards. If it had been a long time since Mitsu had had waffles, then she would have to make an effort to make the best-tasting ones that she could.

Mitsu was overjoyed to know they were going to have waffles. It had been so long this would truly be a treat. "Oh uh....I usually have them with syrup but I don't mind trying the booberries." She had never had anything like that on waffles before but it was worth a try.
Following Xiu into the kitchen Mitsu waited patiently off to the side while watching the baku gather the things that she would need. In the mean time she took her mask off once again and set it aside. At least she felt comfortable enough in Xiu's room, though she was really only one of three.
"Is there anything I can do to help?"

"We'll have both," She promised, pulling out the syrup and booberries as she spoke, "You don't have to use any booberries if you don't think you'll like them!" Really, the topping was usually just based on individual preference. If Xiu dug around some more, she was sure that she would be able to find other fruits and maybe some whipped scream to go on top of the waffles.
Xiu smiled at the offer, tapping her chin thoughtfully as she looked over her friend. "Did you want to help with the waffles?" She asked, motioning towards the waffle iron that she had set on the counter, "I'll also need help with the toppings too. Washing the berries, slicing things--that kind of stuff."
They were both, fortunately, simple tasks. No matter what happened the last time with their baking, Xiu was positive that the same thing wouldn't happen twice. She went to the drawer to dig out a wooden spoon and pulled out two of them--one that she had bought a few days ago, and another one that she had meant to throw out. For some reason, there was a small chunk of it missing.
Strange. Oh well.

"I'll at least try them, I've never had them before." There wasn't much Mitsu wouldn't eat. As long as it wasn't chocolate she was certain she wouldn't get sick.
Standing at the ready Mitsu listened intently to the instructions Xiu gave her on things that she could do. "I..I think I can do that." She nodded. Maybe while Xiu got stuff ready she could get the toppings set and washed. "I'll start with the booberries." They would probably be easy and fast to do so once that was out of the way Mitsu could help the baku with the rest of the breakfast making.

"They're good! She assured Mitsu, showing her the small blue berries in the bowl, "They're pretty sweet! Though the smaller ones might be a little bit sour because they aren't as ripe. You can try one right now if you want?" Well, after they were washed, at least. She smiled as the ghoul proceeded to wash the booberries, and she turned her own attention to the ingredients. "Mmkay, let's see..." Ah, right! First, she had to plug in the waffle iron. Now...
She worked at measuring out all the dry ingredients, setting those aside once she was done. It was an easy recipe, so it wouldn't take long at all to make the batter. As for the actual making of the waffles, she was pause before then so that Mitsu would have to chance to try making them.
The wet ingredients were mixed together, and then slowly poured and stirred into the flour mixture. While she beat everything together, Xiu turned to smile at Mitsu. "What other foods do you like to eat?" She liked to know what her friends enjoyed eating for future reference.

After washing the booberries, Mitsu set them aside to help Xiu put the rest of the ingredients together. It was hard to mess up, the baku had everything measured out. Once they were mixed it was on to the waffle iron. It took Mitsu a moment but she seemed to remember that it was important to spray the waffle iron otherwise the waffles would stick. Looking around it took her a moment to find the non-stick cooking spray and sprayed the waffle iron lightly before pouring a little of the batter to let it cook. Closing the lid Mitsu stood back and waited. At least she had seen her brother do this enough times she knew how the cooking process went. When all else failed she could probably make waffles. Maybe.
Giving thought to Xiu's question Mitsu tapped her chin lightly. "I'm not too picky. I like things that are sweet." She tried to think back to something else her brother would make that she liked. There were quite a few things he made well that she enjoyed.

Xiu was pleased to see that Mitsu seemed to have the waffle-making process down! She had even remembered the spray! "These are going to be really good!" She assured her, moving back to the fridge and digging out a small carton of cream. Pouring it into a bowl, she immediately began to beat at it with an electric mixer until the liquid became fluffy and light. This would go well on top of some of the waffles as well. Giving Mitsu a chance to try different toppings seemed like a good idea.
"Sweet things, hmm? You're like me, then." The Baku grinned as she said that, looking a little sheepish. It was true that she had a huge sweet tooth, which was probably why the majority of the things she made were sweet. Her parents would disapprove if they knew, but...shhh.
"Anything in particular, though?"

Mitsu smiled a little. She hoped the waffles would be good though she didn't expect them to taste quite the same. Her brother always added strange things to the mix to make them different.
"Oh you like sweet things too?" Mitsu questioned. Though, the obvious answer was there. She made a lot of sweet treats, spookies being one of them. "I think I like..." Mitsu had to think. Narrowing it down to one item was hard. Then she remembered something she had when she was little and she hadn't had sinse. It was something her mother had made. "My mom used to make this cake she called Harvest Moon Cake. It's been a long time since I've had it but I remember it being really good."

Harvest moon cake? Something about that name seemed awfully familiar, but the Baku couldn't really put her finger on it. Frowning, she scrunched up her face as she thought. "Harvest moon...what does it look like? Or um, what does it taste like?" If Mitsu liked them, then Xiu would have to make the effort to dig out some recipes if she could find any.
Perking up when she realized that the waffle iron's light had switched from red to green, Xiu quickly went to retrieve some plates. She removed four waffles from the iron, putting two on each plate, before pouring the rest of the extra batter into the mold to make one more batch. Surveying the results, the Baku was satisfied to note that they had come out fluffy with a nice, golden crust.
"Good job, Mitsu!" She complimented, her tail waving behind her as she grinned at the other ghoul, "They're perfect!"
