The 'caveman' side of him wanted to argue that he was fine and could take care of himself. But it'd be rude of him to refuse, and Euph didn't seem like the type to do this too often. 'Am I special or what?' the thought made him want to smirk. ' You got that right, uh, thanks'
Daichi decided to lighten up the mood. 'How do i look?' he said, striking a heroic pose, then spoiling the effect by laughing out loud. Man, would all desert girls make him act so silly? Or was it just this one?
He trotted to catch up to her. 'What happens when you lose count? Or hasn't that happened to you?' If he was in her place, he'd be so lost.

He was an idiot.
Though to be fair she had made him an idiot. She laughed briefly, for once, at his silliness. She couldn't help it. Watching the male she shrugged at his question, clicking her tongue.
"Just don't get lost." She responded, smirking until they reached an oasis. With this she flicked her tail towards it, settled into the water, and turned to look over at Daichi. "Are you ready, forest boy?"

Hell yeah he was ready! 'Whoo-hoo!' Sprinting towards the water he did the best cannon-ball he could manage, which to be fair wasn't very good. The water was sooo good after that desert walk. After retrieving Euph's scarf and his sleeves from where they floated in the water, he went back to shore. He held out the scarf ' Here, and thanks again.' and with that he shook water drops all over her.
Daichi took a moment to survey the place. He'd never been to an oasis before. Had to admit, this place was preeety cool. Trudging back into the water he called out to his companion. ' Hey, lets see if your swimming skills have improved!'

She watched the fool, rolling her eyes as he cannon-balled. Briefly, she shook her head, taking the scarf and beginning to wash them thoroughly, even his sleeves, too. She took off her bracelet, moving that to wash as well. Her eyes lifted at his comment, frowning.
"Here?" She asked, ears going back. Well... maybe... Looking down at the clothes she was washing she sighed, set them down, and nodded. "Fine, but we need to get to my home soon. At night the desert is freezing."

((just realised i did a double-post. I'm such a dummy XP))
Daichi cocked his head to the side 'But it's so hot...' He didn't quite understand. How could something so hot become freezing so quickly? He sighed inwardly. Deserts. They made as much sense to him as the ocean to his companion.
'Ok, this time go in up to your shoulders and start paddling around. That way if you start sinking all you have to do is streach out your legs and touch the bottom' He instructed, moving to where the water lapped at his stomach. Daichi wasn't going to be as careless this time.

Laughing at his whine she rolled her eyes, glancing at the water. Fine. Going up to her shoulders she began to paddle, scuffed when she sank a little, and moved back to a shallow spot, glaring at the water.
Dammit. She looked like a fool....
Trying again she managed to stay afloat a bit, but then excitement took over and she sank again. Scuffing, again, she attempted once more, this time keeping her emotions in check when she started to float.

He stood there patiently watching. She was getting there, and it was super cute when she threw dirty looks at the water. ' That's it, your doing great this time'
Daichi didn't want to say too much, that would distract Euphemia, so instead he threw her some encouraging smiles. She'd get there. He started to float on his back, enjoying the calm stillness of the water. 'Lemme know when you wanna call it quits for the day' He called out, still having no idea what she was going on about before. A desert being cold? Really?

Euphemia watched Daichi from where she was, deciding that she was tired of flailing about, swimming over to him as best as she could. She placed her paws on his side lightly, resting her head on his ribs. "We should get to my home." She said, still nervously glancing at the setting sun. Leaving his side she heaved herself to shore, shook off, and went to see if their clothes were dry.
Once more she glanced at Daichi, disgusted when her mouth became a faint smile. Oh hell no, she wasn't.... wasn't.. falling for him?!

Dai took some deep breaths, trying to calm the heartbeat he hoped she couldn't hear when she touched him. Damn, what was with him? Maybe he already knew the answer to that question. 'Uh, sure. It's not far, right?'
He followed Euphemia after a moment, swimming to dry land. Trying not to throw glances her way he shook the water from his fur. His sleeves were dry enough, so he pulled them on along with his mask. Daichi waited, gazing at the sunset. For some reason it was more beautiful, perhaps it was because of the desert.

She began to led him to her home, shaking her head. "No," She mused. "It isn't far." She looked back at him to check if he was going to die from the heat, noted he wasn't, and continued walking.
Tail flicking back and forth lightly, she swished it so sand was swept up, careful it didn't get in his eyes, and sneezed briefly. Was she getting sick? Probably, but he didn't need to know that.

He trotted up beside her, sleeves making trails in the desert sand "Well thank the gods for that" He was getting pretty tired and some rest would do him good. He was also curious to see where the humans had lived before Euphemia made it her home.
Daichi's eyes flicked to said fox, concerned. Nah, probably nothing to worry about, just some sand up her nose or something. Funny how one little thing could happen and he acted like this. Whatever 'this' was. Did he like her? Yes. Did he like her....? Maybe...a little...yes..? Should he stop his train of thought right now? Definitely! With a quick mental ' what's wrong with you?!' he resumed concerntrating on what was going on around him

She didn't respond to him. Instead, she let the silence hang, silently padding ahead. However, as she saw the shadow of her home she looked up, blinked at him, and grinned. Instead of telling him, she darted off towards the large tower.
The second she reached it she nudged the door open, slipped inside, and crawled to the stairs to head upstairs.
The tower was small and quaint, it had tables covered in dust and a kitchen that foxes would never use. Open was a door that lead to the basement full off boxes of food that could last many years, some boxes already opened from when she was a kit, and barrels of wines and water, though the wine probably was bad. Upstairs were cots and beds.

Dai didn't exactly have to take long to figure out where he was. He followed close, at her heels until he got inside. Still at the ground level, he paused and allowed himself an awed "Whoa..." before padding up the stairs.
" This is where you live?" He asked. 'No s**t, Sherlock' He thought sarcastically to himself. " It's a pretty cool place. So, do i get a grand tour...?" He smiled at Euphemia. "Didn't you say you lived here with a relative...? Do you mind me asking where they are?" Daichi looked at her with his head cocked. Ugh, way too many questions. He might make the poor girl's head explode.

She eyed the male, nodding. "Downstairs has the kitchen, tables, a fireplace though really it's only needed at night, and the door to the basement. In the basement is a lot of food, but only eat what you need. Upstairs are beds and another fireplace. On the third floor is a huge bell." With this she glanced at him, eyes flicking away when he mentioned the relative, and ears flicking back.
"My cousin. He's dead."
