Laci pulled lightly away from her escort, and stepped a few feet into the thick brush. When he gown snagged on a thick patch of weedy grass. She sighed and lifted the layers out of the way. "I didn't know such pretty flowers grew so close to the beach." She said bending down to examine a bright blue flower.
"I only hope she doesn't drive him mad. We both know how she can be." Avarossa watched the girl wade into the plants. "And I have a feeling. He may wear out before she does."

"Your uncle's personality is quite unique." She said with a small smile. "But it makes him a good king."

Leonidas took the shoes from the bed and placed them on the floor. Pulling the sheets up to the little blondie's chin he began to tuck her gently in. "I am assuming a big girl like yourself doesn't need a bed time story, do you?"

Nihl simply smiled and followed close behind, "Be careful, some of the flowers have thorns. I wouldn't want you to get hurt out here, your father might tear me a new one."
Girgori gave his wife a bit of a confused look, "How do we know her?" He gestured between the two of them, "You wanna clue me in?" He hung back with her, however, before the thick brush and watched the two of them frolic about and dance their happy dance over flowers, arms folded and seemingly unfazed. "What should we do in the meantime?"

"Unique. Yeah, that's the word for it." Attorra sighed. "At least he's not ashamed to be himself. Then again, he doesn't have to be, he's the king."

"No. Time for you to go away now. Bye." Afsana closed her eyes, "Now I'm asleep. Go away. Bye."

"I haven't seen any thorny plants yet." Laci said looking around her. Suddenly weary of her surroundings. Taking a few steps back she stood in a, not so thick part of grass.
"Not her her!" Avarossa motioned between them again. "Her as in our daughter, we know how she can be a little difficult with new people." Snuggling into his side she sighed. "We can just watch over them. Or keep an eye on them, and decide our plans for tonight." She smiled up at her husband.
"Oops." Laci said looking down at the hem of her gown. It had snagged on a small thorn, just what she had been warned about, and torn it slightly. "I think." She said lifting the outer layer of her gown. "I just ripped my dress."

"You're right. A king can pretty much always be how he wants to be." Avery agreed. "But still he has to think before he acts. Or it might reflect badly on him and his lands."

color=peru] Leonidas stood over the bed a moment. The dragon child still clutching locks of his hair to hold herself in place. "And I don't suppose I need to check for evil monsters under the bed?" He said glancing over at the closet like he might be worried.

"Ahh, my sincerest apologies, milady. I should have warned you sooner." Nihl leaned down just a bit to examine the tear for himself, "It looks as if the gown might be salvageable, there's a splendid tailor back at the palace. Of course we needn't run back if you don't wish to, however if you think it's an emergency, I would never stand in the way of the needs of a lady. I can only do my best to take care of them."
"Pervert." Grigori muttered under his breath. He returned to listening to his significant other, "Oh yes, that little bugger. Nearly forgotten about her for a moment." He snaked an arm around his wife and held her close, "Don't use your time now to whisper sweet nothings, my dear. I do have to watch them." He reached down for her hand and laced his fingers with hers, pulling her hand up to his face to gently kiss her fingers, "I think you might be more eager than our fair king, my love."

Attorra shrugged, "Only when they're around. I mean, if you're not in the presence of any important diplomats, who cares what you do? Besides your family, they can have an opinion of you - if you want them to. I've heard of oppressive kings who won't let anyone speak out of turn. Uncle Nihl is just the opposite! I couldn't really imagine life with another king. It could really only be dreadful."

"No!" Afsana kept her eyes shut tightly, "Shut up now! I'm asleep! You're waking me up! You're waking me up! Go away now! Bye!" She turned to the side and pulled the blanket up over her head.

Laci laughed "I'm not some drama queen who worries with her clothes!" Letting the edges of her dress fall Laci smiled "I would rather be out here then worry and get such a silly little tear fixed."
"That should only make you all the more eager!" Avarossa said still beaming up at her husband. "Your only the most attractive man I have ever seen." a small sigh escaped her lips with his gentle kisses running across her fingers. "Why shouldn't I be eager?"

"I don't think any other man would be fit to sit on the thrown with your uncle still in such good health, I mean. Your father was extremely wise, he knew he wasn't right for the crown, so he gave it to his brother." Avery smiled at the young boy.

Leonodas sat down in a small chair near a corner. From that point on he didn't say anything else.

Nihl smiled, "But of course." He removed the cape from his shoulders and placed it over hers, "Here. The breeze from the ocean makes it much cooler out here, and I don't want you to catch a cold."
Gigori smiled down at her, "Well, tou should still be on your best behavior. You're a chaperone here too." He leaned down and gave her a soft kiss on the temple, "I love you, but you need to behave."

Attorra gave the woman an odd sideways glance, "You say that like it's a possibility. Which, it is not." He brought his eyes to rest on the water again, "My father and my uncle are surrounded only by kind, trustworthy people, and they have only loyal subjects."

Afsana slowly lowered the blankets and turned to check and see if the coat was clear. Upon seeing the lion in the corner she slipped back under the blankets and screeched at him, "Stop it! Why you're here? Go away now! I'm asleep!"

"Thank you kind sir." Laci only gave half an effort to curtsied. Out here no one was there to watch her and judge. "I didn't even think of the wind." She pulled the edges of the cape around her to keep some of the breeze of her. "The flowers are very pretty, but, would you mind if we walked to the sea? My father has never taken me to see it."
Avarossa's lower lip jutted out, forming a pouted face. "That's no fun." she watched as the king gave the girl his cape. "Cute." suddenly she turned to face her husband. "You don't do cute stuff like that any more, you know."

"I never meant it like that." Avery said looking at the water "I just meant, no man will be as good as your uncle."

"Children don't tell people to go away when they are asleep." Leonidas said trying not to laugh at the little human child.

"That was always my intention, miss." Nihl gave her a small wink, "It is a most wonderful place." He put his arm out for her to take once more so he could begin leading them off toward the shoreline.
"You were just saying how it was a positive thing that I wasn't so bad when we were first together, and now you're complaining?" Girgori sighed, "Mother was right, women are never happy, no matter what you do."

"Probably not. But someone has to come after him." Attorra sighed, "As long as its not me."

"You're a mean!" Afsana kicked off the blankets as fast as she could and made a dash for the door as fast as her little legs would carry her, screaming all the way there.

Lacing her arm with his Laci couldn't help but smile up at the man she was with. If she were married to him, she could have outings like this all the time. if she was married to him, well there was an idea. Marry the king. But as to how to make him want to marry her, Laci was lost. "I am sure it must be wonderful if you're so fond of it." She said looking ahead of them, her mind trying to formulate a plan.
"Firstly." Avarossa said puffing up her chest to start a light hearted argument. "It is a positive thing. I just mean you have stopped being cute completely. I wouldn't mind flowers from time to time. If you were being overly cuties. I would want to hug you rather then do you." She said noticing the other couple walking away. "Second. Your mother hates me."

Avery laughed "Oh so you don't want to be the next king?" Slipping her slippers off, Avery dipped her toes into the cool water. "I would think you'd want to."

Leonidas sighed. He knew something like this was going to happen. Dashing to his feet Leonidas chased after the child. Making a grab for her.

"Well that's kind of you, but to be honest, many people don't like it very much, so you'll likely write me off as crazy and escape as fast as you can." As they hadn't been far from the shoreline at all, they were there by the time they had both spoken and Nihl stopped them at the tide. He then fell back onto the sand and proceeded to pull off his boots.
"What am I some sort of extension of my mother? She's her own person, she's free to hate whoever she wants. But, like I've told you, she doesn't hate you, she hates everyone but me, and you're like the first person she's met in a hundred years." Grigori began, "Oh, and I'm not, not doing cute things anymore, I'm just busy. I thought sticking around and raising our daughter with you would be a least a cut above all the rest. And by the rest I mean my father. Am I wrong? No. I'm not wrong, but do you really want flowers?" He waved a hand and conjured up a quick bouquet of her favorites, then passed them over to her, "Is this really doing it for you?"

Attorra shook his head rather quickly, "No no no, not at all. There's so much responsibility! And no matter what you do, someone will hate you. I mean, I try not to care what other people think [[Future Attorra sits back on two chair legs smoking a huge cigar, blows out a big puff of smoke and reminds everyone "I don't give a ******** what anyone thinks."]] but it generally doesn't work out for me." He sighed, "Not like it's ever going to matter, I'll probably just live here in pools of my own boredom my whole life."

Afsana dropped to the floor and rolled to the side, narrowly escaping the Lion demon. She quickly leapt to her feet once more and dashed into the ballroom as quickly as she could. "I need a adult! I need a adult!" She ran straight for the man Leonidas had been with before. He looked like he could boss the nosy lion around. She clung to his legs, "Help me, he's a meanie!"

Following suit, Laci sat down and pulled of her slippers. A much easier task then his boots. "So what now?" She asked leaning back placing her hands behind her to support her weight. The sand felt funny between her toes. Smiling she wiggled then deeper into the soft sands, she giggled. "It's still warm."
A strange look crossed Avarossa's face. He wasn't getting it, at all. "Yes thank you." she said coldly. "let keep up with them or they are likely to drown in a tall wave." She said walking off. She stopped a few feet ahead. No, she wouldn't get bent out of shape, this was Nihl's party, and probably best chance at finding love. Turning back to her husband she smiled. "Come on, I want to see them splashing around like children."

"But you should look forward to finding a wife, if you have children, you'll never have a dull moment." [[ummm is it bad she is talkin bout children to the boy who will get her daughter pregnant?]] Avery laughed. "Yes I think you would enjoy a child or two."

Paha looked down at the little girl, a large grin on his face as Leonidas came crashing through the crowd after her. "Oh is that so?" He asked bending down and picking the child up. "And what did that big bad man do?"
He asked still grinning at Leonidas.

Nihl proceeded to roll up his leggings next, "Well," he explained, "next we go into the water." He stopped, " You don't have to come in, of course, most women I've ever known don't like the ocean. Or to be near it. It's somewhat dangerous, and no one knows much about it, but personally, I think a little mystery is a good thing." He stood up and brushed the sand off of him, then offered up his hand, "You needn't come in, but you probably don't want to sit there all evening."
Grigori waited for his wife to turn her back before the look of annoyance crossed his face. At the same time the flowers vanished in a quick white flame and after a split second it was if they had never existed. By the time she turned back around though he wore an attentive expression again, and managed to knock all of the physical looks of aggravation off of it. He caught up to her, "I don't think we should get too close, there's no need to be involved." It sounded like they were dealing with another species.

"I don't think I'll be any sort of father material." Attorra grunted, "I'm hardly even a worthwhile babysitter." He shrugged, "I really just want to leave this place, maybe travel with my father one day, but I'll never be much of a warrior, so, that will never happen."

"He was trying to put his weenie on my face!" Afsana hissed, "He's icky! Also he started calling the king bad names like 'doodie head' and 'poo poo king' Yep. He said Uncle was the king of poo poo land." She nodded as if it were true. "You should put him in the stocks."

Laci took his offered hand and quickly stood. Once again she followed his actions, and brushed herself off. She was sure her dress was going to end up wet if she got in. "Well I will never now what I think of it, if I never try." She said still holding onto his hand.
Avarossa sighed. "I suppose you're right." as they stood there for a few moments, she knew he was likely as upset as she was. But it wasn't her fault he took her light hearted argument the wrong way. "Babe?" She said looking up at him. "I love you, no matter what."

"If you keep putting yourself down before you even start, you'll never succeed." Avery gave the boy a stern look. "Have a little faith in yourself."

Paha laughed. "Oh really!?" He looked at the accused lion demon, knowing the man would never do the stuff the child was saying. "Shame on you Leonardo!" Paha smiled down at the cute child shaped monster in his hold. "I think he needs a better punishment then that, don't you?"

"A very positive approach to life, I like that." Nihl smiled as he walked her into the tide slowly. Personally, he loved the cold water as it gathered quickly around his feet then vanished only to come back again in a few moments. But cold water it was, and there was almost always something in the water to scare a woman away. He glanced down. speak of the devil. He let go of her hands to bend down and reach into the water, he then pulled out a very odd looking creature. It was brown and faceless, and had a shell around the top of it. As he held it up though, the bottom came into view. Along with a skeletal-like appearance beneath the exterior, it had five sets of legs and a tail which was pin-straight and pointed, like a brown rapier. "Horseshoe Crab." He smiled like a child, "Want to hold it?"
Grigori sighed, "I know." He took a moment to pause before he started up again, "But I - Nihl put that ******** thing back in the water!" He spotted the king playing zoologist again, "Put it back!"
"Ignore him, he's just a big party pooper." Nihl nodded to the young woman beside him. He turned to Grigori, "I'm not going to hurt him, I just wanted to show him to her!"

"Now that's a challenge. The only place I have to live is in my father's shadow, and I know I'll never be as great as he is, or as smart as he is or as strong as he is." Attorra sighed, "Not that it really matters, he has an entire army of people who could succeed him."

"Yeah!" Afsana agreed loudly, "Make him bake me cookies!"

A small squeal was the only noise Laci could make as she raced deeper into the water away from the creature the king was holding so proudly. "That thing is so ugly!" She said realizing it wasn't doing anything to hurt Nihl, so it was probably harmless. "Is it alive?" she asked walking closer paying strict attention to the thing in his hands. "Will it bite me if I touch it?" she asked finally beside the king again, she never heard Grigori, her eyes were still glued to the little crab.
Avarossa chuckled. "He is never going to win her over if he sends the girl running." She said trying not to laugh as the girl almost tripped into the water as she made a break to get away. "Maybe she isn't a sea creature lover." She observed the girl, once again, as she made her way carefully back to the Nihl's side. "Or maybe not."

"Aw Attorra." Avery gave the boy a sad look. "You shouldn't think so little about yourself. You just have to give yourself time to grow into yourself."

"I know some thing better then that" Paha said bouncing the little girl on his hip, and walking to Leonidas. "Why don't you play dress up with him, you can put the man in a dress."
