Eduard made it to the home ec class. he sees Luz Maria there, giving her a nod. He sat down on his seat and waited for class to start.

Chesa came in soon after Luz Maria and Eduard, her eyes going to the kitchen as she sat down next to her. "What are you going to do?" She asked the girl, setting her bag on the floor, out of the way. Figuring she wouldn't have enough time, nor the ingredients, to cook a full meal or finger foods, she'd come to the decision to make palitaw, a sweet rice cake with grated coconut, an afternoon snack from home that she loved. But she couldn't help but wonder how much she should make. The recipe was quick and easy enough and, once finished, the rice cakes were rather small and, not counting herself, there were at least three other students in school; Eduard, Luz Maria, and Ivan, whom she hadn't seen last period. I'll make half a dozen, she thought, If more people show up or someone else another, I'll just make more, I suppose.

As she was thinking, the Mexican girl heard Chesa asking her something "Caray, I'm not sure. There's so much you can do here. This class is fantastico~! Maybe I should save some room in my stomach for lunch, Francis owes me some chocolates. Oh! Maybe I should make sweaters for my babies~ I have 2 dogs in my dorm, come on over to Dorm 1 sometime so I can introduce them to you~" She went over to the closet to look for some knitting needles and yarn. Which color should she use?

Chesa nodded, agreeing that there was quite a few things to do. But she had already decided what she'd be doing to occupy her time. "Dogs? That's cool, I'll pop by when I've got the chance." She got to her feet and headed into the kitchen of the classroom. It didn't seem like Luz Maria was going to eat, if she was getting chocolates, but Chesa pushed that thought aside. She'd make some extra for the girl to take back to the dorms or to eat later on in the day. She pulled her hair up into a ponytail as she approached the sink, mind swirling with thoughts, all revolving around the food she used to make back home, plates of different meats, assorted fruits, and rice dishes, all mixed into a mixed taste of sweet, sour, and salty. She was a bit disappointed that she couldn't make a full meal, to enjoy the food of her home, but wouldn't dare pass up the chance to cook anyway. She started to mumble under her breath, ticking off things from a mental list that she would need. "Rice flour... grated coconut, awesome, I'm glad they have this... sugar... regular flour." She laid her haul out onto the counter, examining the amount of the things she had. Oh yeah, she'd definitely have enough to make at least a dozen palitaw. She then dug out some measuring cups, two bowls and a pan. With everything she needed, she set to work.

Luz Maria found some red yarn and some green yarn, with this, she can make a sweater for her dog, Xolo, and one for her puppy, Chico. She sat down and began knitting her sweaters. Luckily, she remembered how big they are.

Francis walked into the Home Economics class, late, whistling the tune to an old French song. Wait... This wasn't even his class, so does it count as late? Oh well.

He walked over to the kitchen area and grabbed an apron before slipping it over his clothes-- his street clothes, no less-- and set to work on starting some pastries. Once all the ingredients were in the bowl, he began mixing it by hand and walked over to Luz Maria, hugging the bowl to his chest. He looked over her shoulder curiously.
"Luz Maria~! I never knew you could knit~! That is some very good work you have s far, but it looks too small for Antonio." The teacher in charge of the room was giving Francis dirty looks, but he seemed to be completely oblivious to them. After all, he pulled this crap every year where he skipped all of his classes so he could just hang out here and cook. It wasn't about to stop just because he got a few dirty looks. Besides, at least he gave the teacher plenty of yummy food to eat when he wasn't planning to use it to entertain guests... But since he was still determined to have that party tonight, anything he made was either going back to the dorms with him or going to Luz Maria since he did owe her a little something sweet!

"Eh?" she blinked as she heard a familiar voice. Luz Maria looked up and saw Francis right above her "Francis? What are you doing here, mang? Skipping again? Tsk tsk, you just can't resist the kitchen, huh?" Well, what did you expect? it was the best class ever! So, she didn't bug him about it, especially if he's going to give her the candy he owes her "Oh, you need to learn to knit when there are times you can't afford new clothes. And this isn't for hermano, this is for my babies back in the dorm. Winter's coming, and they need to stay nice and warm, ese."

Francis smiled and sat the spoon in the bowl before placing one finger to his lips with a playful smile and a wink. "Shh, do not tell ma sœur mignon, Marianne~! She will have my a** if she hears I was skipping all day to cook for the party tonight." Well, possibly. It was hard to tell with his sister. She certainly would lecture him about how irresponsible it i for him to insist she come here to get an education and then for him to not bother going to any of his classes. "Besides, all I am missing right now is History. If I do not know it by now, then I will never know it, oui? After all, I was there for most of it, so why should I worry about a silly class like that?"

Francis picked up the spoon once more and went back to stirring the ingredients in the bowl. The pastries he had planned with these were going to be so flaky and delicious~! Plus, he planned to have them shaped like little bowls so he could pour some chocolate creme into the center. Just the thought was making the Frenchman even more cheerful.

When Luz Maria mentioned needing to know how to knit, Francis nodded his head in agreement.
"Nothing wrong with knowing how to make clothing. I am still very well known for my skills with the thread and needle. Arthur used to be sooo jealous that he would copy what I dd and slightly change it since he did not want to admit he liked what I had come up with." He chuckled lightly, remembering how cute the little Englishman used to be when he was a kid. Then again, Francis was so much more adorable ~! "I wonder if I'm still as good at sewing... I have not really needed to for a long time with all the people in my country that sew for me... Maybe I should give it a try one day."

"Ah, no te precupes. I'm not the kind that tells secrets to anyone." She continued to sew the sweater "Well, you weren't there for certain points in history, you weren't there where I kicked Antonio's butt. Or when I lead a rebellion against dictatorship." That last one failed miserably, if it weren't for Alfred, she'd still be under the rule of a tyrant dictator. She carefully began to knit small cute details to the sweater, some biscuit decorations "I wish I could have people do stuff for me. Unfortunetly, I've been branded that infamous term of 'third-world country'. Every summer I have to work many jobs to pay my bills, buy food, and pay debts from several nations. For once, I wish I could be treated like a princess, with respect, and people serve me and buy whatever I want." she sighs "But that's not going to happen anytime soon... " Why does reality have to be harsh?

The day had gone by quickly. Ivan went through first and second period virtually unheard. He entered Home economics a little more brightly though, because, of course, he knew that after this period, he had lunch, which he could spend with his Matvey~

Ivan took a seat at an empty-ish kitchen space and waited for people he knew, specifically his sister, to show up. he had no desire after all to hang around with the baltics this period.

Francis gave a light shrug of his shoulders. "Too bad they do not teach the Seniors those sort of things in History. It's pretty much the big wars, as usual. Heck, because this is an American school, most of the stuff they do teach us is biased and leans more to the greatness of the United States. The only part of America's history I have interest in is when I helped him beat Arthur in his Revolutionary War and gave him all of his ideas for the Declaration of Independence and Constitution. You know what I get for it? No recognition of it in the class and the little American brat calls me a pervert and forbids me from seeing my Mathieu. If that is not a kick in the pants, I do not know what is. Although, I've had America's version of "Mexican food" from this school, so I think you count as the real victim since that was just all sorts of wrong..." Francis shivered at the memory. This was why Francis was never seen buying lunch from the school. I mean, let's face it-- no one likes cafeteria food to begin with, but what the school served surely couldn't be up to America's low health code standards...

Francis listened as Luz Maria said what it was she wanted... Which was normal for any girl, no matter her age. Yeah, she was a bit of a tomboy, but it was understandable. Just look at Elizaveta. Both grew up surrounded by men. Hell, Francis still got a chuckle from the story Gilbert told about how Eliza used to think you grew a pen-- ah, never mind. It was pretty funny, though. He gave a faint sile before he walked back to the kitchen area. He set up the dough on a cookie sheet as he wanted them to cook before putting them into the oven and setting the timer. He then began getting the pots ready to melt the chocolate he had brought with him for the baking process before he walked back to Luz Maria and sat in a desk next to her's.

"Luz Maria, how about Big Brother France tell you a little story. Once there were two people, both of whom were poor. Where they lived was not good for farming like the other homes around them, so they struggled when it came to having enough food and money to get by. To make it worse, one of them was so small and fragile that she kept getting hurt by others, and no one cared. Both worked very hard, but seemed to get no where. Finally, one day, they met each other by chance and agreed to work together. They told their neighbors they were all idiots and would have nothing to do with their petty arguments and lived together and peace. Now they are two of the richest people in Europe. Know who those two are?"

He paused for a moment before smiling and answering the question. "Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Who would have guessed, no? We used to hire Vash to do all of the dirty work and usually gave him chump change for it. And Lili, the poor girl, was always getting taken over right after she would once again gain independence. if it wasn't that, she was usually caught in the aftermath of one person invading another. Now everyone wants a Swiss bank account, and Lili, even though she is the second smallest country in Europe, has the highest GDP in all of Europe! I don't even know what it is she does, but the girl is just as rich as her brother! Oh, but the point to my story is this-- your life sucks now and it's hard work, but it will be worth it. Just keep working hard, and one day you will be the new Switzerland."

"Pfft, Alfred don't know how to make good Mexican food if it came and bit him in the cojones! My food is, how they say 'kickass', while his is nothing but dog food and lettuce in a shell. And he owes you big time for helping out in his independence. Que burro!" she sighed, why the hell was Alfred such a lousy copycat when it came to her things? Luz Maria listened to Francis's story of Vash and Lilli. She was familiar with the siblings all right "I see.... That's nice and all, but... I highly doubt that could ever be me.... I have no one, not Alfred, not even my brothers' support. I had to survive on my own for centuries." Not to mention all of her bosses have been nothing but selfish dicks who spend tax money on themselves and let her people starve. She didn't want to talk about this, she felt like she could cry any second, she's always known that she was those nations people didn't really care about. There was one thing she wanted to know "Oye, Francis... You're familiar with Italian due to your brother, Feliciano, si? Can you tell me what 'molto carino' means?" she remembered that young Italian boy mentioned that to her in the hallway.

get in, l o s e r , we're going s h o p p i n g

He hadn't meant to make a habit of skipping both of the first two periods. There was just so much in the world that needed to be more dazzling, and as a proud owner of a hot glue gun, glitter, and a Bedazzler, Feliks had taken it upon himself to make the campus a more shining example of wondrous education. They say that one always takes work home, and it would certainly appear that is so.

So he came into the classroom with a gratuitous dusting of bits of copolymer plastics, aluminum foil, iron oxides, titanium dioxide, bismuth oxychloride, and a multitude of other shimmery materials. Which is a fancy way of saying he more-or-less looked like a stripper.

Feliks briefly looked over those present, weighing his options and coming to a quick conclusion. Firstly, there were a bunch of girls he didn't know (avoidavoidavoid), Eduard being an Estonian socially awkward penguin, and Ivan. This, of course, meant there was only one viable course of action. Skip-strutting his way down the aisle, he tweaked Eduard's nose and gave him a little pat on the head before assisting himself to the chair nearest Ivan's and issuing a sort of wave in his direction, adding an airy, drawn-out 'heeeeeeey' for emphasis. Really, the entire idea was something he'd like to call 'Operation Piss Ivan Off', except with a more creative acronym that would make people wonder if he was a secret agent or something. He'd have to come up with one sometime.

(( sorry I haven't posted in a while... I kind of forgot. cx ))

Eduard wasn't interested in making anything in class, so he was in his laptop, researching those creatures they encountered last night. So far, no matches for the description he typed up. Why's that? He suddenly felt someone tweak his nose and pet his head "AH!" he saw it was Feliks, it's been a while since he last saw him "Tere, Feliks, and please don't do that..." he pushed his glasses back.

Focused completely on her cooking, Chesa hadn't even noticed Francis come and go, her mind set on rolling the dough to just the right size, flattening it just as she'd been taught, glancing over to make sure that the water wasn't boiling over as she did so. She had a few rice cakes made already, honestly it was a quick enough task to finish them, the thin white disks set on a plate away from the ingredients, and another was soon added to the pile, freshly covered in sugar and pressed with grated coconut. Taking a moment to refill one of the bowls with cold water, she looked up to see Ivan sitting nearby. She hadn't really gotten the chance to talk to him during the last two periods, and something was telling her to just leave him alone. She shrugged at the notion, turned the water off and went back to work.

Once she had about twenty made, she turned off the stove and set everything aside in case she needed to make more; neatly put the ingredients out of the way, covered the bowl with the dough for later, and picked up the plate. Luz Maria looked like she was talking and didn't want to interrupt. She looked over at Ivan and headed over, holding the plate in front of her. "Would you like to try one?" She asked with a smile. When it came to the things she cooked, Chesa's shyness was almost nonexistent. She took pride in her skills and enjoyed watching others try it...
