Shea was trying to keep her focus as people ran past her screaming, which was indeed a very hard task, in such an environment. The creaking bones of great guardian, factored in as she knew that meant he was moving, Shea tried her hardest to keep the illusions moving in confusing patters just to buy time, when she heard the scream her body shuddered. Another vibration of the ground was felt as a huge beastly long clawed foot came down in front of boys, the street beneath it giving way to the weight of the limb, road peeling up and curling beneath the creatures foot.

"Oh heavens......." came her hushed voice, the awful sounds coming from the Lichbone causing her concentration to diminish by the moment. When the creature laughed at her attempt, her face reddened with heated embarrassment, that wasn't necessary. "Shea!" The Ars Lilium heard her name, glancing with a flicker of her illusions for the lack of concentration. Then again, she pulled back the Illusions since they were seeming a fail, not wanting to waste anymore energy with them. The citrus scent of her potion infused hollow fruit shells picking up on the wind and blowing around the area, it was a calming scent for some for other it probably wasn't even noticed.

The Ars Lilium , knew that Lycander was there, she glanced to him again as her Illusions faded away, her familiar and sweet smile gone replaced with a slightly frightened and serious expression. " The Lichbone, ... its gone mad.. " Shea furrowed her brows, not knowing herself what to do so she said, " do anything you can to help get the students clear of the area safely! .. " Thinking on a next move as her eyes widened in horror when the Lichbone opened its mouth.

They would be devoured in one bite ! She turned from the male witch for the moment was distracted, picking a hollowed fruit shell from her hat and reaching for Koray who had happened to turn into a sling shot, taking aim at the open mouth she waited till the unknown male witch danced back several steps, then launched a potion mixture that if strong enough could slow the creature's reaction time. Shea just hoped no one stepped in the way and it exploded on them. "Stand clear!" Her voice had never been loud and even now when aiming for a louder tone it failed.

He probably should have been frightened. After all, the massive skeletal form of the enraged Lichbone was running rampant, its shrieks and heavy footsteps crunching the stone paths as easily as breaking a twig. Around him the terrified screams of the girls and boys, as well as a few of the teachers rung in the rapidly darkening sky, loud and eerie.

It was a shame, he thought, that such a beautiful creature should be treated so abominably. The Lichbone was supposed to be a being of caution; a great guardian beast to the Makai Academy dwellers and the people of the surrounding town. Yet here it was, lost in the blindness of blood lust and fury, its desire to overturn everything it had once stood for devouring it from the inside out. People ran from it, were fearful of it, their terror nearly as tangible as their footsteps on the broken cobblestone.

It was chaos; he could almost taste their emotions; he closed his eyes, breathing in the scents around him, trying to procure some sort of inner calm to decide what to do. Against his face flicked a warm, dry tongue; Hyde gave a low hiss, curling his tail around his neck as if to drag his master out of his inner musings.

He was standing near enough to Miusa to hear what she said, and the barest hint of a smile touched his lips before it disappeared as quickly as it had come, replaced only by a vague, unreadable expression. So its heart had been taken; what a curious thing.

Now is not the time to stand still.

He gave a sigh. Something flickered; shadows danced around his fingertips, stretching and elongating like flames along gloved hands, still resting lightly on folded arms. He pushed himself away from the lamppost, his strides long and even, black shoes clicking on the cobblestone pavement until he reached the center of the madness, amidst the stubborn students.

His hands darted out, one grabbing the collar of the red haired boy.* In one quick movement he had dragged him back, away from the roaring beast, stepping neatly in front of the grey haired boy.*

"Do not presume to know what you are doing," Professor X said, without a backwards glance at either of them. More shadows twisted around his hands and arms, flickering and flitting, though he seemed to take no notice of them. "Neither of you are near strong enough to understand exactly what it is you are dealing with."

Miusa's voice called out, pleading with them to stop but he ignored it. If Miusa wouldn't act, someone else had to. It wouldn't be fair of him to let the rest of the students get hurt. Not if it was within his power. He watched as a pink-haired girl summoned up n illusion, a shaky one at that, but it was enough of a distraction. He threw it in the general direction of the Lichbone, hoping that it would distract him some and buy them a little time.

Running closer now, he could see that a vaguely familiar figure casting a spell, a strange rune hanging in the air as the Lichbone laughed, sending a chill down Theo's spine. The creature was terrifying like this. No doubt there were people terrified beyond their wits, frozen in fear. Drawing closer to the creature now, Theo began murmuring a soft spell, one to increase the power of the flames as he approached the giant skeleton.

Theo concentrated on the ball of flame in his hand as another somewhat familiar face came up beside him, retreating from teh creatures lunge. The Lichbone roared in anger, opening its gaping jaws to devour both himself and.. Salem wasn't it? And yet another male witch, looking like a fresh graduate. No doubt he was. But Theo couldn't spare the concentration on them, there was a rampaging Lichbone on the loose. Lifting his left hand, he took aim and threw the fireball at the Lichbone, praying that it would hit its mark and do some damage to the Lichbone. Before anyone got really hurt. He concentrated his magics now, summoning the dancing flames that were part of him, preparing himself for a larger, stronger attack.

This had turned into pure, utter chaos, Miusa thought. People did not flee as she'd hoped, and now she'd have to do something that would suggest part of her secret to those intelligent enough to grasp the similarities. Of course she knew how to dismantle the great beast. She was, after all, one of the witches who created him. It was a heartbreaking thought, to destroy one of her first large-scale creations. How proud she felt, the first day the Lichbone opened his eyes and gazed at its creators, grateful for life.

"I'm sorry, old friend." she murmured in a barely audible whisper. "I don't have a choice." her voice wavered slightly. To her, this would be like executing her own. "Bones to ash, and ash to bones."

Her right hand raised in front of her; her fingertips sparking with an ancient form of mana as the ground began to shake, and a pale, golden scythe materialized in her grip, similar to the ones the reapers used, but something was....off. When the weapon was swung around, forceful waves emanated from it, knocking back those who tried to near. "For the last time, stay away from it!" her voice was dangerous, staring daggers in the direction of the students. "If I taught Arcane History, I would fail you all! It's basic knowledge that an alchemia cannot be killed, and cannot be undone by anybody except its creator, or a piece of the very thing it was created from!" Kids these days. So rash and ready to lose their heads!

Cyrus looked at his dear friend for a moment with confusion on his face. At the sight of the golden scythe, his brow raised in disbelief. He'd never seen -that- before...and weren't reapers the only ones with scythes? Suddenly, he was knocked back with the forceful waves of the powerful weapon. Syracuse fluttered aimlessly to the ground and Cyrus hurried over to help her to his shoulder. Poor thing was knocked silly.

The healing arts teacher gazed up at his colleague one more time, uttering her name, "Miusa..." What was she about to do? If it can only be killed by its creator or something it was created with..did that mean? Miusa..or this scythe...made the Lichbone? He knew the ancient incantations teacher had been instructing here for a long, long time, but was she there at the creation of this guardian beast?

Cyrus felt helpless as he watched her. Her words made it clear that he, nor anyone else present, could defeat the Alchemia. Instead, he turned around and tried to gather the witches and witchlings that had ventured near in their attempts. "Stay back! This might be getting more dangerous." he called to them, grabbing shoulders, guiding them further away. His head still craned over his shoulder some times, checking to see if Miusa was safe. But he had to make sure these ones were safe as well.

As the man with the brightly-streaked hair stepped in front of him, with another witch ((you know what i mean kuro BI)) in tow, and proceeded to condescend over his shoulder, Salem considered spouting some retort to preserve his image in the eyes of the man, but deigned instead to watch with a bemused grin at what the man intended to do now. Humans were such self-righteous creatures, it seemed, everybody trying to protect everybody else but not one stepping up to do something about the problem. It was an absolutely ticklish notion. What did he stand to gain from earning this man's favor, anyway? If the terrible, terrible alchemia was as unstoppable as they all seemed to think it was, his valiant-savior-turned-meaty-shield would be killed in a moment, anyway.

But then they were all being swept away by Miusa and her massive conjured scythe, and Salem couldn't help but giggle, for he had to eat his own words. Apparently the massive fist had come to fall upon the Lichbone, and all it had taken was waiting until the very brink of disaster, if disaster indeed approached at all. “Good, good, she'll kill it, then.” He mused softly, almost to himself. “To think the woman was hiding all of that deep down. To think such a being would teach at an academy, rather than exercise such power out in the world.”

Professor X did not bother with the rest of the people who were of school age, nor even the older ones. After all, right now they were of no concern to him - seeing as how Miusa was taking care of them - and neither, really, was the Lichbone. What he was more concerned about was the woman standing a few feet away from him - the one with the scythe.

The shadows stopped twisting around his hands momentarily; he glanced towards Miusa with an unreadable expression, fingers curling and uncurling involuntarily.

Curious... he thought, tilting his head a bit as he regarded her. How very...very curious...

He had felt that magic before; felt the sway, the ripple in the air, the way his nerves seemed to stand on edge, felt the tingling sensation that made the magic near tangible in the dark night. It tasted...familiar.

Why is this so familiar..?

There was a screech from the Lichbone, wrenching and nerve wracking, though Professor X merely lifted his gaze to the creature, almost as if he were bored with it. This could not be farther than the truth, however, but it was not as if he were going to reveal it. The shadows stretched along his fingertips and the professor lifted a hand, flicking them towards the Lichbone. They shot out as fast as an arrow, shrieking around the massive beast with a terrible sound as they collided with its side. Another enraged screech; Professor X turned his gaze towards Miusa again.

So very, very familiar...

...like her.

Gone mad? Well, he could certainly see that. But why had it gone mad? That was why the redhead did not understand. "Why though...?" He murmured, not really expecting Shea to be able to answer him. She was already giving up on the illusions that weren't working and moving to something new. "I'll certainly do what I can." He promised the Ars Lilium. Lycander knew without anyone havign to tell him that he was not nearly strong enough to do any sort of damage. But he could at least help get students clear and to safety!

Except...as Shea moved to do whatever it was she intended, a hand latched on to the collar of his shirt and pulled him back. He stumbled with arms flailing slightly to keep from falling on his rump. "Woah, what...!" The redhead blinked at the sudden appearance of what he presumed to be a teacher. And someone else. The witch he'd seen beginning to weave a spell of some sort before. Lycander didn't know him though. Emerald eyes glanced from the grey haired witch back to the man that had dragged them both out of the way.

"I can't very well sit back and watch without trying to help the younger crowd get to safety." Lycander replied calmly with a small apologetic shrug. Ah, yes. One of those teachers. The redhead sighed a little. He obviously didn't disagree with the man. If anything, he just wished it hadn't been pointed out like so. "Guess we aren't. Still doesn't mean I would try helping those who need it." He barely got the words out before feeling something slam against him like a powerful rush of air. Except this was power. It staggered him and the redhead's eyes sparked, ready to take on whatever had attacked. Only, it hadn't actually been an adversary. It had been the lady Miusa. And was that grey haired witch giggling?! Lycander quirked an eyebrow in his direction. His words made him frown.

"Perhaps, it is because she has such power, that she chose to teach others who may come along how to control and use such power." He offered the other with a nonchalant shrug. Then his gaze was pulled to the sudden shriek and feel of magic from the man that had pulled them both back. He blinked and watched as what looked like shadows shot towards the Lichbone like bullets. Who was this man? Teacher...whatever he was?

Still disheveled, Ruria trudged over towards Lycander and Professer X, dusting rubble from her sleeves that her thorny shield had left behind. She narrowed her eyes towards the other two boys, a mixture of annoyance and concern etched in her expression.

A hand grasped onto Lycander's sleeve as she watched the scene unfold in front of her. She did not know this boy, but she was not above grasping at something real when something that felt very unreal was beheld before her. A vague interest was birthing inside her. She wanted to study the Lichbone...learn where it came from, how it came to be, how it would die. How could it die, exactly? Still, she was young, and inexperienced. Though resolute, she could not deny she respected the power this creature held, and why it above all else had been created to protect the academy.

"It can't be helped?"
she murmured. There was pity in her voice. Ruria felt for this monster, even as it had almost smashed her to death, even as it now threatened it wanted to 'crunch' students. "Can't a new heart be made for it?"
her eyes looked pleadingly up to Professor X, trying to read his face for some hint of a solution that didn't end in the creature's demise.

He cast a sidelong glance back at the redheaded witch, his expression calm even in the chaos that reigned around them all like hail. "If you're 'trying to help those that need it,' then you'll know that staying back and out of danger is just as important as fighting," he replied. "What good use are you if you are dead?"

He stepped away, sleek black shoes crunched on the debris beneath his feet as he made his way towards the beast again. Hyde gave a low hiss on his shoulder, uncoiling from his neck, and the professor's intentions were far from "heroic;" Professor X made no second movement to dispel the beast's anger. Instead he stood in front of it, as if scrutinizing it, his eyes following its every movement.

At least until he heard girl's voice pleading voice in his ear. He glanced down at the rose haired young woman, her face stricken, her fingers grasping at the sleeve of the redhead as if to reassure herself of something; though what that was, it was unknown to Professor X.

His gaze surreptitiously and quickly slid towards Miusa. The magic was still twisting around her, flickering in and out like a lightbulb on the blink, and for a brief second Professor X did not say anything.

"...no," he replied quietly, his eyes sliding from Miusa, to the Lichbone, then back to the girl. "There is no way of doing such a thing, not after its heart has been so thoroughly disposed of."

Miusa had finally decided to intervene. Theo found himself yanked back while Miusa gathered her power, breaking his concentration and letting the flames run free. Cursing, he quickly gathered his thoughts and tried to avoid setting anyone or anything on fire. The flames were dissipated as Theo found himself being.. ushered away. Really. Why did Miusa have to take so long to intervene? She ought to have done something already. People's lives had been at risk. Even now, lives were still at risk.

The scythe that Miusa held in her hands. There was something terribly terribly.. off about it. It set Theo on the edge. Unlike the scythes most reapers possessed, this one screamed bloody murder at him and made the hairs on his arm stand. However, he stood and watched as she gathered her power to destroy the Lichbone. Watching her reminded him again why she was one of the most respected teachers in the school. But to think she was that old... To have been around for so long... But in a way, it made sense.

His expression stony, Theo was resigned to waiting with the rest of the remaining witches and witchlings. Hearing that the Lichbone had its heart taken away was shocking, to say the least. It explained much though. "Miusa should have stepped in earlier, if she knew we couldn't take it on." Theo said flatly, his eyes narrowed as he watched the Ars Lilium. Evem if she killed it now, the Academy would still be in need of repairs, considering the damage already done. Debris scattered the floor while the beats continued raging. "Especially, since there were lives involved." Theo's lips were set in a grim line as he surveyed the now ruined stage.

The Ars woman let out a breath of relief as a few of the people trying to actually battle the alchemia were pulled back. Herself only trying to slow and or distract it, knowing that she like the rest couldn't 'defeat' it at all. Pushing her painted lips together she let loose of the sling shot in her hand, before it hit the ground it turned back into her marble colored familiar. Vibrant blues turned to the academy teacher known as Misua, the woman had been around when Shea was roaming the academy. A long time. .. Curiously Shea's head tilted as the woman summoned a golden scythe, it was brilliant in itself, though odd unlike any other she had seen on a reaper, that is because of course that's about the only time Shea had ever seen a scythe...This one had just something about it though, and the magic feel coming from the other witch was...strange. Frightening a bit, but a wonderful frightening? ..Regardless..it gave her goosebumps.

Watching blue eyes widened for a moment when the weapon was swung sending back those that were still trying to fight or get near the Lichbone. Her words casuing even Shea to stiffen slightly with their tone. Koray snorted gently taking those words and running with them the familiar would discuss his later questions with Shea, like for one since it cannot be undone by anybody except its creator, or a piece of the very thing it was created from, then apparently this teacher had either, a helped in the creation or b that strange weapon did, and even if it was the later reapers only got one weapon it wasn't like they were passed along or just picked up right? , Each reaper scythe was unique to that reaper correct, so it would still mean that if Miusa could stop the Lichbone, then Miusa created it. Making her one powerful..teacher.

Shea was awe struck by the woman, backing gently up to scoop her familiar though she was plenty out of the way. Her gaze only shifting for a minute to find her friend Lycander and look for Orpheus. Slowly gliding over towards Lycander once spotting him, but still staying a bit back from the group.

He was still watching the man in front of him when another moved close. Lycander glanced at the girl, offering her a smile that grew warmer when he felt her hand grasp at his sleeve. She was scared, he assumed. Reaching over, he patted her hand and gave it a small squeeze for reassurance. Lycander didn't mind her clutching his arm at all. If it brought her some semblance of comfort, that was fine by him.

Hearing the voice of...whoever he was, Lycander looked forward again. "You are right, sir. Forgive my foolish rush in to help without thinking first." That in mind, he took a few steps backward, bringing the pink haired girl with him. He made sure not to move too drastically, should it make the girl stumble. Her question had crossed his mind faintly and he looked towards the Professor for the answer. The one that was given made something in him feel sorrow for the beast.

"What must be done, must be done." The redhead murmured, placing his hand back on the girls. So there was nothing to be done about the Lichbone? It seemed cruel, to him. Though he could also understand that it was not any fault of the Lichbone for what had happened. Poor creature, he thought solemnly as movement from the side caught his attention. It was Shea and Koray slowly making their way over. The redhead gave her a small smile, though it lacked the usual spunky spark. He nodded towards her, glad that she was alright. Again, his gaze shifted to watch the events unfolding before him.

Hearing the young pink-tailed witchling, Cyrus also felt a glimmer of hope. Perhaps the beloved guardian could be saved, rather than killed. But how does one simply create a heart. If multiple witches created it in the first place, surely it can happen again? Yet Professor X's response disheartened the school nurse. There was no saving it after all, then.

Cyrus turned his attention to the witch decked in blue. He stared at him for a moment, baffled by what he was saying. "Miusa got here as fast as she could. Just because you ran in before her doesn't make her at fault. She's not an oracle! No one could have seen this coming. Except..." his voice trailed off, remembering the cause of the Lichbone's rage.

"Except the person who stole its heart. If you should be blaming anyone, blame -that- person. Not Miusa." he said. Despite his tone merely sounding stern, this was probably the angriest anyone's ever seen Cyrus. But he couldn't help how the witch beside him ignorantly blame Miusa for this destruction and chaos.

The white haired woman didn't look towards Theo; refused to meet his stony, critical stare. If she had acted immediately, countless people who were running to escape would have been caught in her spell, and died with the Lichbone. It was not only that, of course. She had a hand in creating the thing, and it was difficult to have to be the one to kill it.

"Death isn't the immediate answer to everything."
she replied, as the Lichbone turned its eyes on her. She could see recognition in them, but it was fading quickly, replaced by the growing bloodlust in the creature. "I'm sorry, old friend." she whispered again. "I'm so sorry."

Miusa's feet were swift, carrying her across the cobblestone street towards the monstrous form of the Lichbone, who screamed towards her, and ran to meet her. It's giant maw opened, and there was a loud snap, and then a gruesome crunching, and ripping sound. The skeletal creature and girl were surrounded by a vortex of ripping, wailing energy, some form of lightning-like element crackling inside, and slowly it dissipated...the alchemia's soul, his life energy, evaporating into the air, as the giant's cranium rolled away from the body, severed by the golden scythe. For a moment, the eyes still flickered, the jaw still moving as if whimpering, and then the lights dimmed, and all movement ceased. The Lichbone was dead.

The scythe she held disappeared into glimmers, and Miusa put her hand on the creature's skull. Without looking back at the others who had stayed, she spoke curtly. "There is someone stealing hearts here. If it's a majin or witch eater, I don't know, but stay on guard." She placed a hand on Cyrus' shoulder as she changed her path back, towards the direction of the school. "Can I ask you to see if anyone was injured? I have to get help, for dealing with...the remains." She kept his gaze for a moment, then gave a slight smile, as usual. "Oh, and Miss Lockewood....Detention. I can't punish the others, since they're no longer academy students."
