Rufus chuckled, then removed his foot from the stirrup so he could pin Meme with that leg to the horse.
"I won't let you fall off without me, and besides: falling off would make you learn... how to ride better, that is..."
He paused. "Try and get rid of the nerves as best you can, so the horse doesn't pick up on it. I'm here, so relax or talk to me of other things to distract yourself.
Like your family for example...?"

Meme tried to concentrate on something else like the Prince told him. "My...family? They're not important. But I am curious about what kinds of food the kitchen prepared for us." he said, looking up at the Prince curiously. "And where are we going again?" he asked curiously, resting his back against against the Prince's chest gently, listening to the sound of his heartbeat.

Rufus kept one eye on the road and the other on the back of Meme's head. This husband of his was very strange...

Meme shook his head. "I said they're not important. I don't want to talk about my family. I just want us to enjoy ourselves. You have me now, I don't know if they'll ever come here. Is there anything else my Prince would like to know about me?" he asked Rufus, continuing to look up at the Prince curiously.

"There are several things I'd like to know about you, Meme, but I can't when you won't share with me.
Hmmm, I have the best idea to sort you out, but I won't share either: you will learn some things with me and about me..."
Rufus smiled coldly. "But since we're almost at our picnic destination, I'll help you off the horse and not ask any more questions..."
He gently pulled the horse to a stop beside a tall tree, then let go of Meme to slide backwards on the saddle. Once he was able, he got off of the horse and presented his arms for Meme to slide into.

Meme couldn't help but feel bad, he would tell the other about his family but Meme would have to come up with a good lie and he couldn't come up with anything right on the spot. "By the way, what did you get in the mail?" he asked, hoping it was casual enough. He smiled at the arms stretched out toward him and easily slid right into them, feeling the strong arms holding him and bringing him down to the ground once more.

Rufus let Meme go and picked up the picnic basket. "I don't know yet. But as it's my mail I think I should keep it private, don't you?
Now, would you prefer a seat by the river or under the trees? I'll try to make sure you're comfortable, then I'll open my mail where you can't see it alright?"
Rufus went ahead of Meme, wondering why he was interested in his mail. Meme was hiding something, clearly.

Meme nodded at the Prince in acceptance. "Okay." he said softly. "How about by the river? I like rivers." he said softly, wondering how he was going to be able to see if there was a letter from the real bride in with the rest of the mail. Meme knew he would have to be sneaky about it, he was sure the Prince was starting to suspect something but he couldn't say anything, if he did then Meme knew very well the punishment for impersonation.

Rufus threw the blanket down and straightened it out, putting the basket on top. "We did not know what you like as a breakfast, so I packed several things. Feel free to tuck in: we're married and alone. No need to be uptight for the moment..." He smirked. "And if you are naturally, then I'll soon loosen you up..."

Meme blushed a bit at how forward the Prince was being. "U-um....do you have any cream cheese danishes? Those are my favorite." he said, already opening the picnic basket and looking inside to change the subject. He half wanted to comsumate the marriage but at the same time he was quite embarrassed. "How exactly would you 'loosen up'?" he asked, suddenly interested in what the Prince would say, perhaps he wasn't being perverted after all?

Meme blushed even more but nodded in agreement, finding an apple turnover and munching on that since he didn't eat much in the castle and was still hungry. He saw the letter and got a little closer to see who it was from but it didn't have a return address. Meme's heart skipped a beat when he thought that the letter could have been written by the real bride or one of her servants at least. He tried really hard to pretend he didn't care about the letter and shrugged his shoulders. "I don't really care what you got in the mail, I was just trying to make for good conversation." he said simply, continuing to eat his apple turnover.

Meme looked over at the water and smiled. "Ok!" he said happily, he always loved swimming. Meme stripped right down to his underwear and ran right into the river. He stood up and looked over at the Prince with a big smile. "Would you care to join me?" he asked curiously, happily wadding in the cool water. Rufus was definately right, since he didn't shower the water felt really good against his skin.

Without answering, Rufus started to strip. He was curious: most royals cared for their clothes, but not his husband apparently. Either he truly hated being Royal, or else he was still drunk.
Or perhaps he is not who he claims to be. However, as I lack proof...
He hung up his coat and other clothes on a tree branch. He didn't care too much, but his valet would have his head if he dared not care at all - not that his wonderful butler couldn't sort such things, but still...
N***d, he lay on the blanket and spread himself out to enjoy the sun, raising the letter to eye-level. "I intend to read my mail. But you may join me if you wish..."
