(Bloodinnnng! *giggle*)
Her pack twitched, startling Arinoa into tripping. Twisting around, she reached in, pulling form it a frightened little mouse. She cupped it in her hand, soothing the creature, then dropped it, making futile her efforts, when pain flared across her solar plexus. Gasping, she fell to the ground, and crawled quickly to a draw. She clutched her chest, wincing, and nearly screamed when a blood-splattered deer staggered from the forest ahead of her. Seeping from its chest, the blood left a trail behind him, and his once-regal antlers dragged along the ground. The beast pursuing its prey, and orc sprang from the brush, cackling.

(Cackling. *giggle giggle*. Orc cackling.))
((This is in medeival times, right? Kamiss wasn't born or a child in medeival times. He was an adult. Therefore, I shall change this characters name to Sokra--which is Kamiss' sons name. Since Kamiss went back into medeival times. If you don't want me to change my name, that is totally ok.)

Sokra landed on the orc, forcing it into a roll. He rolled himself, but he was up much quicker. He waited for the orc to charge him, and then he sidestepped and kicked its backing, sending it onto its stomach. His eyes were glowing completely bluish-white, with no pupil in sight. Sokra was in berserk mode, but seemed in control for this once. When the orc made a move for Arinoa, that changed. He leapt forward, his punch cracking the orc's jaw, but he wasn't wasn't done. He grabbed the orc by the throat and threw the beast into a tree, then without moving, the orc flew into the air and slammed into the tree again. It started floating towards Sokra, unconcious, and he made a claw with his right hand and plunged it skyward. The orcs head was ripped from its body and the body collapsed, falling from the air. Sokra turned and walked towards Arinoa. He offered her his hand, which he realized belatedly was extremely bloody. "Are you all right?"

(Orcs can cackle if I say they can cackle. xd )
((It's fine with me))
((Oooh, lovely. Decapitation = heart lol, just kidding.)))

Still wincing, Arinoa nodded.
"I'm okay. I'm just...a little sensitive to pain. I shouldn't be by now."
She coughed, hiding her embarrassment, and turned to Sokra.
"It's hard to stay away from you when you crash out of trees right in front of me you know." Unspoken questions in her eyes, Arinoa shifted her pack on her shoulders, and started walking again. She figured, if he really wanted to be alone, he wouldn't follow. And she couldn't delay her trip too long, anyway.

Sokra jogged slowly, catching up with her little by little. "I have... a feeling." Sokra said. "I've killed two orcs in two minutes. I know these woods are crawling with them, but I don't know why. Need an escort until you get where you are going?"

Arinoa paused, then glanced over at him. She smiled.
"If you're willing to join me, then sure."
She started walking again, following the beaten bath for the time being.

Sokra just nodded, holding his swords loosely in hands, but tight enough to use momentarily."So where exactly are you headed?" He asked, venturing a question.

"I need to find...my mother. She lies somewhere in the North, in the mountain ranges. Something is wrong with her, and she needs my help."
It was hard for Arinoa to acknowledge that the family she had loved so long was not her own, but she knew it was true. She knew she was not of this earth, nor one even remotely like it. And she knew she would need every ounce of her powers to find and save her unearthly mother.

Sokra just nodded. "Do you..." he said hesitantly, as if he was unsure of the question, or rather, why he was asking it. "Do you have a father?" He asked. He was staring straight ahead, and lightly brushed aside a branch right before he walked into it.

'If I have, I've never met him. I was not borne in the usual way, and I have been living in foster care from the moment of my...birth. I know of my mother only from the information I have gathered on my travels. What I have heard does not make me believe I have a father."
She noticed herslef rambling, and shut her mouth. Too much information would not be beneficial at this point of their "discussion".

She kept walking, merely ducking beneath the boughs and branches that he moved aside. She was not tall, not lithe, but short and round. She was not athletic, nor quick on her feet. She has lived a calm and fulfilling life to the day, and had never needed to be such things. But she suspected they would soon be needed, have them or not.

"Oh... my dad...." He said, looking straight forward. "I've been trying to be like him." He said simply

"Oh..."
Genuinely interested in something other than her quest for the first time in a long time, Arinoa paused.
"Why? What was he like?" She turned curious eyes on her companion, waiting silently and patiently for the quiet one to answer.

"He was the greatest man I have ever known, and I want to be like him, because he was so strong in every way. His name was Kamiss and... he died saving me." Sokra said. "He had strange powers that he often used, but only for the defense of himself or others. He never influenced others through them, and he never sinned for all the years I've known him. I don't know of his life before, but once he came here he was the protector of our little world."

She walked solemnly on, thinking about what he had said. Quietly, she spoke, as they breached a high that looked down upon a sleeping town.
"If I had known my father, if I even had one, I would've liked him to be like yours, I think. He sounds like a man worth honoring."

She took the first step over the hill, knowing word of her mother might possibly be found in this town, though it be small.

"Thank you." He said quietly. "Who are you looking for?" He asked, just knowing somehow that she was searching for something, rather, someone. The intuition puzzled him but he knew he was correct.

Arinoa paused once more. She'd told him, once, that she was looking for her mother. But she sensed in his voice that he was asking another question, meant to find another answer.
"I thought I was looking for...I'm looking for...
I'm trying to find my past. I need to know who I was, what I was, before this life that I know. And helping my mother...finding her, I might find answers as well."
