"Nice to meet you too, Ren!" The Baku chirped, beaming up at the monster boil, "It's always nice to meet a friend of Vaith's." That being said, she did wonder how Vaith and Ren could have befriended one another during their "mutual naptime", as the reaper had put it. Bonding over their resting habits?
"I'm new, yes! Still trying to get used to everything, but I'm enjoying my time here--oh, I like your tail." The last part was added suddenly as she caught a glimpse of the boil's tail. Smiling, she gave her own fluff-tipped tail a little wave. This boy wasn't a Baku too, was he? Probably not--he had wings for one thing, and...well, now that she looked at him more closely, he kind of reminded her of Tahki.
Glancing between the two boils, Xiu rubbed the back of her head shyly, "Should I leave you two to your conversation? Looks like it's been a while since you've spoken. I'll be over there!" Waving, she turned to return to Lizzy and Junko's side.
At Junko's offer, her eyes grew round and she quickly glanced to Lizzy as she agreed. "I...really? You guys would try teaching me?" Unable to contain her excitement, her lips split into a grin. However, it faded slightly after a moment, and her voice grew meeker, "Though...are you two sure that it wouldn't be much of a hassle? My uncle has always tried to teach me, but..." It never seemed to work out for some reason. The last time she had tried to sew, she ended up stitching her own sleeve to her work.
"If it's really okay through, after exams would be fine! I-I don't want to impose on you guys." Was there anything she could do for them in return? Xiu would have to think on that, but she told herself that she would definitely come up with something.

Riley's eyebrows shot up high when Calder turned to her and proclaimed her to be rude. She didn't retort in anger, simply because.. he was right. He was right, and he'd said it so simply that there was no fighting her own standards. She'd just been shut down.
Her stomach turned.
She reached up and pulled Jericho nearby, giving him a look that said there might have been a private conversation going on, before turning back to look at Junko gratefully.
Ah, I see. Romance. I've never managed to read through a book on romance. They hold little information, I presume. But, ah, why do you need lessons? I thought you already had a boilfriend. What more is there left to learn?

Ghouls with Ghouls and Boils with Boils. There was a kind of temporary relief in that. Gesturing for Ren to join him towards the side, he waited for Ren to converse with Lizzy first. He used the minutes to ponder, tone finger pulling at the ends of his front collar to loosen it in a more casual manner. He sat at a nearby desk, boots crossed as he glanced at the grouo of ghouls for a minute. He waited until Ren crossed over. He didn't speak up immediately at first, his hand cupping his cheek, elbow on desk ..
Silence.
.... "How do you ask a ghoul to the a prom, Ren? In a friendly way-- you know, I didn't know ghouls and boils were supposed to go to a dance together. Would it look lame if I didn't go with a ghoul?" Vaith murmured to Ren, tipping his head to the side to get a better view of the gryphon. As far as Ren accurately knew, Vaith had never had a ghoul friend .. Not even a friendly (unromantic) one.

What parts didn't she like? Well! That was a loaded question! She actually enjoyed the parts that weren't sex. The romance, the sweet affections, the courting..those were nice. Those were the parts she enjoyed reading. "The..." Junko blushed even more and looked around before finally managing to work up the courage to answer. "the sex parts?" She mumbled quietly, embarrassed to even say it.
Oh, Jack. Riley! "Calder feels I need...um...intimate lessons..."

At the enthusiastic greeting, Jericho grinned and patted Lizzy on the shoulder before chuckling at her comment. Yes, he could help with any ceiling decorations pretty easily for sure. The dragon took a quick glance around to get a better feel as to who was here before turning his attention to Riley. Blinking for the moment, he glanced over between Calder and Junko, shrugging.
He wasn't sure what the context was but whatever. Taking a step closer to the kelpie he just lightly jabbed at the other guy's arm, which could very well be taken as a sort of greeting.

Ren gave Junko a grateful smile before turning to speak to Lizzy. "Yes, it's Ren," he said with a small nod, linking his fingers behind his back and absently rocking back and forth on the balls of his feet. "I've seen you around before! I'm glad to finally meet you, Lizzy."
Since he tended to see her often, it was a good thing that now he had been properly introduced to her so that he could greet her nicely from now on. Ren's gaze flickered to Xiu, and he smiled cheerfully at her.
"Why thank you," he said, glancing down at his tail. He flicked it upwards to rest in his hands, twisting it lightly. "Yours seems quite like my own, which makes it awesome."
Winking teasingly at her, Ren gave her a wave as she turned back to Lizzy and Junko, following Vaith to the desks, sliding into the one next to the reaper. For the first few moments they sat there in silence, neither one speaking, until after a moment Vaith said quietly "...How do you ask a ghoul to the a prom, Ren? In a friendly way-- you know, I didn't know ghouls and boils were supposed to go to a dance together. Would it look lame if I didn't go with a ghoul?"
"Oh," said Ren, blinking. He was slightly surprised by the question, but that was almost immediately covered up by a wide grin. Inching his desk just a little closer to his friend so he could talk in a low voice (the ghouls weren't supposed to hear, after all), Ren rested his chin in his palm, adopting a completely casual stance as if they were talking about something as mundane and ordinary as the weather.
"Well," he said. "You don't technically have to go with a girl. It won't really make you look lame. I mean, you can go by yourself, of course. But it's more fun if you go with a girl. You tend to just...be able to do more things."
A pause. Ren quickly added "I mean, not bad things. Just like...taking pictures, having someone to dance with, not having to worry about standing around looking awkward."
His gaze slid to the pale haired ghoul for a moment, then back to Vaith. "You planning on asking her?" he asked, smiling. "She's cute; and she seems like she'd be fun to take out."

"Intimate lessons?" What in Jack's name had the hungry ghost walked in on now? Hands in his pockets, the boil stood a few steps behind the small group wearing an expression of bored suspicion. Bi-colored eyes were narrowed rather accusingly at Calder, whom he hadn't seen much of since that dreaded fieldtrip, but whom he remembered being an alright fellow, all things considered.
"I really do walk in on the most interesting situations," he sighed, turning those crimson eyes on his ghoulfriend, a single dark brow twitching. "Trouble follows you." If not for the slight upward curve of his lips it would have been easy to mistaken the comment as criticism, but Seiji had never spoken to Junko so unkindly, and he had no intention to start now. Affectionate teasing, now that was another matter altogether.

The kelpie rolled his eyes at Riley. "Just because you have a boilfriend doesn't mean you're done with romance." Like, DUH!
Calder leaned in over his desk, turning his ear to better hear her. True, he could hear rather well, but she was mumbling so much that he barely caught it. "The ...the what parts?" He had to really work her flustered words together before turning to look at her. "The dirty parts? But those are just as good!" They also had great character development points, not to mention being very ....good reading material. "They're just as romantic!"
Calder was about to dive into the merits of such segments of those stories when Jericho came over to jab him in the shoulder. "Hey!" He said, touching his arm and rubbing it before looking up at the dragon. "Oh Hi." His horns looked nice in this lighting.
"Okay, how about we get a second opinion. Jericho." He looked to the boil. "You like the dirty parts in stories, right?" He said, looking up at the boil as if he would keep a shelf of romance novels in his room.

Riley's eyebrows lifted for a second time, as the true subject of the discussion was revealed. Why was Calder trying to corrupt Junko on such matters? The idea made Riley push herself right off the desk, and walk over to stand between them. She was fully prepared to wail on Calder for the context of the discussion, when his question to Jericho derailed her so badly that she took a step back.
Her eyes took on a faint brightness, and she shook a little. If anyone knew her well enough, they would know the shaking to be the physical response to silent, raucous laughter that only she could hear in her head.
She looked up at Jericho, trying to keep the laughter out of her head.
Oh. Do tell us, Jericho. Do you like the dirty parts?
Terrible.

After he had punched the kelpie in the shoulder, Jericho furrowed his brow and looked at the small group. Wait. What in Tiamat's s**t were they talking about? Something about Calder wanting to give intimate lessons to Junko? The girl had a boyfriend for Tiamat's sake!
Before he could say anything about that, he was stopped in his tracks by the question tossed at him.
Then Riley had to follow it up.
He seemed distracted for the moment, unable to answer straight away. The dragon's cheeks took a faint reddish hue for the moment before he coughed and tried to shake off whatever had just hit him.
"Y-yes. They are pretty nice..." he murmured, still looking a little flustered.

Why.
Why.
WHY?!
Junko sunk lower and lower into her chair as the conversation continued, her hair dragging on the floor until she heard Seiji's voice repeating something she had just said. Oh no. Oh, HELL. Junko pulled at her own hair, blushing more as Calder called it the 'dirty parts'. "Yes, the dirty parts!" She whined, peering up at Seiji through her bangs as he walked up to her and teased her. Nooooooo. Why did he have to be here now?
"H..hi Seiji..." She mumbled, trying to hide her face. Whyyyy! Whyyyyy!
"A second opinion?! Wai--NO!" Junko sat up sharply, arms reaching out over her desk as if that alone would stop Jericho from answering.
Et tu, Jericho? Ugh.

Calder was looking at Jericho, head in his hand and elbow resting on his desk, and just smiling up at the blushing boil. Look who was getting frazzled. Awwwww. He took a moment to fully enjoy the moment, before smiling. "See. Jericho agrees. It's part of the story and vital to looking at all sides of the relationship. They say some pretty important parts in those scenes, and you can't just read parts of it and get the tiny picture."
He looked at the other boil who approached and just thought he was hear to listen. Calder went back to educating Junko. Tapping his fingers on his chin, he perked. "I'll get you a very mellow story though A Heated Haunting should have been tame enough." There was that one scene near the end, but he felt that was rather soft. "Which one did you start reading?"

The shadow of a smile the boil had been wearing slipped as continued conversation on 'dirty parts' spread all around him. Really now, what the hell had he walked into now? "What are you talking about?" And why did it seem all this talk of 'dirty bits' centered around his ghoulfriend?
Shifting closer behind the ghoul, he moved to rest his hands on her shoulders, giving her a rather hard look before shifting his attention up to those around her. First Calder and his continued teasing, then Riley and her prompting, and lastly Jericho. Dark brows lowering at his answer.
Clearly the hungry ghost had missed something, and he was really starting to wonder just what that might have been. Whatever it was, it didn't sound like anything good.

Oh, Jack. She'd meant to bug Jericho, but that blush made her feel a touch of guilt at just how embarrassed he seemed. She reached up and patted his cheek, trying to offer comfort, before turning her eyes down to Calder.
Where do you find all of these books, anyway? Do you have some sort of subscription somewhere? I have one for a scientific book club.. you can see why my reading selection has not been rather dirty. The mating season of the lepus is, perhaps, the closest one of them got.
Oh, look, Seiji was her. Just in time, too. I wonder if Seiji agrees with you and Jericho, as to the quality of your books? She privately emitted to Calder, while giving Seiji and innocent look and nodded in greeting.

Sin was trying to be patient and polite but the gathering was quickly devolving into what appeared to be a total embarrassment for Junko. Since Junko was one of the very few friends Sin had she cleared her throat and glanced pointedly at Calder.
"I think such discussions have their place and time Calder...the time is not now and the place is not here."
She turned to look at Riley hoping she would switch the topic, they were here to all volunteer and discuss Prom were they not? She arched her back and slid out of her seat to lean against the desk instead sensing this meeting was going to take a little longer then she had expected. She was a bit surprised with herself, since when had she wanted to just sign her name and be done? She used to be so social, perhaps she was tired of pretending to be so...perfect when her flaws were all to obvious.
