"Yay," he cheered merrily as he scooped up the blanket and sat on the edge of the cot. Then he paused and looked at it thoughtfully. Taking a quick glance, he shifted from the girl at his side and the blanket in his hand. With a sigh, he put the corner of it in his mouth and used his free hand to shake it open and toss it over his shoulder. Opening his mouth with an audible sigh, he slouched as the warmth seeped into him. Eyes narrowed to slits, he gazes at the blush ridden Yuukie, her auburn hair cascading over the pillow she was propped on.

"Cute," he murmurs before tipping to the side. Slowly, he collapses beside her, his head near her stomach. His nose ghosts over a slip of skin that peeks out from where her shirt bunched up. "I really am sorry about this," he adds softly. It hadn't been his intention to cause her this pain. Even though they were rivals, he never wanted to hurt her. It just happened, like hurting things often do. He only hoped she would forgive him.

"I'm not high," he murmured as he turned into the touch. He always liked having his hair played with, like a secret craving. "Just because we were destined to fight, doesn't mean I wished you harm," he growled softly as he nuzzled her stomach teasingly. "I don't come off as the violent type, do I? Not like the kind that takes pleasure in causing others pain."

Shinta remembered some of the times in the past when they had to fight. Most often, it would end with either him or her knocked to the ground and their master calling a cease fire. They were graded on form and contact, but never was there a time when they didn't have to pull their punches. Today was like they had been aloud to take the baby gloves off. He had to admit, it was far better than the other ways of doing things, but he didn't exactly like the outcomes. Smiling at himself, he chuckled at her comment.

"Oh I am always sarcastic. But I like to think the fun loving side is more prominent," he added as he blew softly on her skin. Taking in a slow breath, he decided he liked how she smelled. He hadn't noticed before, didn't know why he hadn't known all along, that she smelled of water lilies. It reminded him of the gardens his grandma used to take him to see when he was little. Those pastel colored flowers, drifting along and floating on the water. The image made him want to kiss her skin, just to see if it was the same texture. Not giving it a second thought, he pressed his lips softly into her side.

"No not high. It just makes me feel a little wooo," he explained as he lifted his free hand and twirled it around. Letting his hand fall to sweep feather like touches across her stomach, he giggled slightly.

"I wouldn't if I didn't," he replied as he kissed her side again. It was just there and he liked the feeling of her soft skin on his face. "Life is just filled with surprises," he drawled lazily. Tensing slightly, one of his legs shifted slightly until is rested between hers. Then he relaxed again and breathed more deeply. His injured arm was tucked in between them, while his other was draped across her midsection.

"You're not so evil. Even though you try to be," he mused as almost an afterthought. "I think that it's just your way of keeping everyone away, but. . . not me."

"No, but others whisper it," he admitted. Even though they were in a University with a varied ages, genders and races, it still was filled with gossip. He hated that about people. They could be the most cruel, even when they try to play nice. And he was no exception.

Humming slightly at her touch, he looked hazily into her eyes. Yes, they were rivals. Who knew how, or why. They were destined to meet and destined to fight. And he liked that she couldn't keep him away, because it was how he felt as well. There was just no other way. It just was.

"I'm your Loki," he chuckled as he covered her hand on his chin with his own. "I'm meant to cause you endless chaos, but that's the way I am. If you didn't like it, you wouldn't rise to meet it." Grasping her hand gently, he turned his face to kiss her palm.

"Do not let your mind cloud your heart," he murmured breathy into her palm. "I'd never laugh if I knew you were serious."

His large emerald eyes went from large to deep with the hint of a smile. He couldn't say he had seen it coming, but somehow hearing her confession made him a little more hopeful. Hopeful that his own self induced punishment might finally come to an end.

"Sometimes things can change for the better," Shinta sighed half to himself. Closing his eyes for a brief moment, he let himself relax into her caresses. It had been so long since anyone was so kind to him. So long since anyone let him get close. It both pained and exhilarated him.

Scooting up the bed a few inches, the green haired boy looked at the girl who studiously avoided his gaze. Cocking his head to one side, he smirked before saying," Can I tell you a secret then?" Leaning in so that he could whisper into her turned ear, he breathed softly.

"I like you too."

As he pulled away to look into her face, he noticed the blush and the tears. The blush he had expected, but the tears not so much. Girls didn't usually react to boys confessions like that. It troubled him. And she just looked too damn cute when she was distressed. So he did the first thing that came to mind.

Reaching up, he wiped the tears gently away with his thumb while cupping her cheek. Then he pulled himself closer for a kiss.

"Silly girl, " he whispered before pressing his lips to hers. 'Tears have no place at a time like this,' he thought. 'Let's try to make them go away.'

(I love how you try to validate her tears in your post. As if he had projected his thoughts and she was projecting an answer. lol )
Tilting his head to the side, he opened his lips to suck on her bottom lip gently. He adjusted accordingly when she pulled him closer, her arms like a vice around his neck. Now this was the reaction he had more in mind. Letting his hand fall away from her face, he trailed feather like touches along her arm and along the side of her rib cage.

Light briefly lit the room and a deep rumble echoed soon after. A fizzle put them instantly into twilight, the only light coming from the predawn outdoors. When Yuukie jumped she had inadvertently gotten his bad arm partially beneath her. The pressure was enough to cause pain through the meds muffled wall.

"s**t!" Shinta cried as he pulled back. His arm was easily pulled out, but the pain that had managed to force through was slow to dissipate. He knew that her movement hadn't been made for harm, so simply shook his head and readjusted himself so it wouldn't happen again.

"You know what the sad thing is?" he asks huskily in the near darkness. His fingers touch along her naval up towards the start of her ribs.

"I'm left handed," he supplies as his hand continues its journey along to her side, just a couple inches below her breast line.

(If she's making such cohesive thoughts, he really is behaving himself.)

"It's. . . ok,"he managed to gasp helplessly as she kissed up his arm and nuzzled his neck. With his right hand, he pressed lightly on her shoulder to make her lay back again.

"Make it up after you aren't so hurt," he chided with a grin. He knew the only reason she was moving so freely was because of the meds. Shinta didn't want her doing more damage than he already had done, a thought which made him frown. Laying his head on her shoulder, he sighed again while she played with his hair.

(small time skip, cause I want a change of scenery. lol)

A few days later Shinta was jogging along the track. He had to be excused from his martial arts classes until his arm healed. So to keep active, he ran. Little puffs of cloud came out with each breathe he took as he made his way brusquely around the south curve.

The fighting prodigy's thoughts however, were far from his classes or his throbbing arm. They were on a certain rival that he had not seen since that day. The power had returned by mid morning and the aids had come in the room to see them both passed out, him curled at her side with the blanket neatly tucked around the girl's body.
