Seeing his relief, she brightened up further and nodded to him. Glad that no one else was there to make Calder uncomfortable, she walked around in search of a comfy spot to sit. Thankfully, the best place seemed to be next to the trees. The air was cooling with the arrival of the rain, so she curled up and slightly pushed into the protecting branches of the evergreens, the needle-like leaves tickling her skin.
Settled now, she looked up to her friend. "So you've really never been here before?"

Seeing Glori move to sit down and get comfortable made Calder move. He found a spot across from her. He sat down felt a few drops of rain but it didn't bother him much. He was still able to see the flowers in the garden and also Glori. Hearing her question he nodded. He had never been to place such a this. He cursed his inability to speak for there was so much he wanted to say and ask.

Glorianna immediately felt the need to describe what she could about the town to this first-time visitor. Hopefully she would be able to cover the important things... She saw the town regularly though. What might he find interesting?
So she went on at random, explaining the tavern that she had first led him to, and that there were also taverns to be avoided due to the drinks served there. She talked about the little stalls and the shops, about buying and trading for merchandise, and about the clusters and groups of homes that made up the other part of town. Eventually realizing how much she'd been talking, so much more than normal, she closed her mouth bashfully and looked out to the garden again, watching the flowers being pushed by the falling rain.

Calder was quite content to listen to Glori talk. She certainly made up for the fact that he couldn't. His ears perked up when she mentioned the stalls and shops and buying and trading. That sounded interesting... but he had no money and nothing to trade. So he couldn't do that. Hearing about the homes that were also part of the town made him tilted his head. Was her home near here? Thumping his tail against the wood he tried to get her attention. He made a roof gesture over his head and pointed to her when she did look at him.

Perking her ears at the odd thumping sound, Glorianna looked over and cocked her head slightly. Roof? Her? ..Oh! She shook her head. "My home isn't here. It's outside of town. A bit of a walk, but it's not so bad. I don't think I would like living right here in town anyway."

Calder slowly nodded his head to show him going 'ooooohhhh'. He then quickly nodded since he also felt that he wouldn't like living in town. So far it has proven to be too noisy and with too many taur. He preferred his home in the woods away from everyone. He thought again about the shops and stalls and how to get stuff. He would like to try that but wasn't sure how with him having absolutely nothing to offer them.

With that matter settled, she let her gaze travel back to the gardens again. "My mama's garden is so much nicer than this," she murmured, "but this one is nice. I think it's a community garden, so just the taur who have the time or desire to will care for it do it." She wondered if Calder's home had a garden, and then.. "Where do you live, Calder? Do you have a house?"

Calder listened to hear talk about the garden. It was a good idea to have a community garden like this... but if no one had the time or will to take care of it what would happen then? Would it just die out?
Hearing her question about his home he shook his head. He didn't have a house. No house for Cherish and him. They lived in the forest constantly moving. If they could find a cave to sleep in they would but otherwise they would stay in the open with only trees for cover. He pointed back in the direction they came from to show that he lived that way in the forest.

Her ears twitched slight as the other teen's head shook. No house? Where did he sleep then? Was he like one of those wild taur who slept in caves or the trees? ..how exciting!
Her eyes naturally went to follow where he was pointing. So he did have at least a particular area. That was good. That meant she might see him again! Nodding slowly, she perked up at a breeze that momentarily pushed the rain into the gazebo, watching some hit Calder's fur. "Maybe after this I'll buy us something warm to eat?" She offered, knowing being out in the rain wasn't always good for ones health. Some warm soup would fix that though!

Calder wasn't worried about the rain hitting him when the picked up for a moment. After all he was still wet. Hearing her question his ears perked. He looked at her and nodded trying not to seem as eager as he was. Perhaps with her buying them something to eat he could learn how things were bought and maybe even how trading worked. He looked back out and up at the sky. The clouds were now fully overhead but the rain was still light. The storm must be burning itself out.

Pleased to see him nod, she sighed and closed her eyes, leaning back into the prickly comfort of the evergreens. She was getting hungry.. She didn't have much on her at the moment, but she knew where they could get a good meal for a decent price. It was just a matter of waiting out the storm now.

Calder sat back and tilted his head so it was out in the ran. He closed his eyes and relaxed feeling the rain on him. It felt quite good now that it was a light rain and not a down pour.
It wasn't that long before the light rain became a drizzle and then only a little longer till it turned into just a few random drops of rain. The storm had burned out before it had really hit town. Opening his eyes Calder looked up at the still cloudy sky. He thumped his tail against the bench to get Glori's attention.

She had her eyes closed and was thoroughly relaxed with her silent company. The light thumping caught her attention, and she smiled when she noticed the sun trying to peek through the thick clouds above. He must be ready then. "Okay. Our next stop is food." She said softly in reminder. Now, where should she take him?
First, she dug into the little purse that hug around her waist to see what she had. Just enough for a little something. Taking Calder's hand again, hoping this might ease him as they headed a little deeper into the market, she led the way to a stall that sold bowls of stew along with thick crackers. Next to it was a fruit drink stall.
She ordered chicken noodle for the both of them, since the variety was limited and that seemed best after getting rained on. The bowls were a little small, she thought, but the soup smelled delicious. She handed over the requested amount, and the stall owner handed over the soup. Then she guided Calder to sit under a large oak tree nearby. "We can eat first, and then get something to drink, as well." She said, looking at her friend for approval as she took a bite of the hearty soup.

Calder stood up and stretch. He nodded and took her hand when she went to get his. He followed after her but almost stopped when they reached the market. The only thing that kept him going was the fact that she had his hand and that he wanted to learn about buying and trading.
He watched with close attention as she ordered the soup and then the stall owner told her how much it was. He was interested in what she gave the stall owner but soon was being handed a bowl. He took the bowl of soup and sniffed it. It smelled great but like nothing he had ever had before. He followed her to the tree and sat down. He took a bite of the soup and paused, nearly opening his mouth in shock but that would have sent all of the food he just took in out to the ground. He quickly swallowed and looked at her. He nodded with wide eyes and grinned. It was very good. He soon was downing the soup. He would ask her about how the buying worked when they went to get a drink.

Ears perking at Calder's reaction to the soup, she gave him a happy smile. "I'm glad you like it." She purred, voice lowering slightly. "..Maybe you'll be able to try the way my papa makes it sometime." Then she set to working on her own bowl, contently eating the warming soup. Mmm~ Just the thing after a run in the rain.
Soon enough, she was tipping the bowl up to get the last of the broth, licking her lips contently. Then she looked to check on her friend's progress. "Are you ready for something to drink?"
