Illitashia stumbled slightly, tired and thirsty, she had been traveling for days without food. Her last kill had attracted a pack of hyenas, and not even a lone huntress could keep the cowards from fresh meat for long. She had eater what she could, fought while she could, and run as far as she could. She was nearly finished. Up ahead was a tall band of grass. 'That will be a fitting place to rest.' She thought, not caring about the scent of a strange pride. 'I hope if they do take it ill that I invade their lands, they at least have the grace to finish me quickly.' The last of the wounds were nearly invisible now, having healed cleanly. Still, the pads of her feet were cracked and bleeding, and her breath came in ragged gasps. She melted to the ground with a thankful sigh.

Kichea lifted her head to the wind, sighing as the breeze caressed her. It was then that she smelled the familar scent of a lioness. It smelled a bit like Elli, and yet.. different. The smell of blood wafted in the wind. "I smell a wounded lion..." She said softly before raising herself up and padding through the grass in the direction of the scent.
She came upon Illitashia and gasped. "Akin!" She called for him, knowing he could help the lioness up to the safety of him pridelands. "She;s famished... the poor thing... She looks as if she could use some sustanance..."

Akin blinked when his mate left his side. "What's wrong?" When he heard her words he leapt to his feet, jogging after her.
He nosed the rose-colored lioness, smelling dust, sweat and blood. Her coat was smothered with the same dust, dulling the magnificent colors and masking most of her odor. "We will take her to our caves." Pushing his muzzle under her forelegs, he manuevered the lioness onto her back.
"There should still be some antelope left. That can hold her until we can hunt some more." He didn't like the thought of taking Kichea out hunting but it was still early in her pregnancy and two hunted better then one.

Illitashia raised her head, trying to focus on the dark figure before her. She blinked a few times before focusing on the face of a black lioness. She started in surprise, jumping to her feet but hissing in pain. Her feet hurt.
"If I did intrude upon your pride, I meant no harm." She said quickly. "My name is Illitashia.. I seek the Queen Ellidanio."
She turned to the large male who stood nearby. "I have seen you before.." She murmured.

(( whee gonk I meant his back but it's too late to change... sweatdrop ))
He recognized the voice and once he looked past the dust he realized who it was. "You! Yes...we have met before. I was wandering not too far away from my lands and found a hyena tormenting some lost cubs..."
"You should not be on your feet!" He pushed his head against a shoulder, wanting the unknown lioness to get off her feet. "Climb on my back and I will take you to our home."

"Akin... bring her to the caves.... she needs rest." Kichea said softly and rushed ahead, dragging the kill into the cave so that the lioness could eat without exausting what little energy she had left.

Illitashia, too tired to resist, did as he bade.
"Yes.. You chased it off..." She murmured, eyeing the king's home and his lioness. "Thank you for your kindness..."
She watched the black lioness drag food closer to the cave. "I have heard of you.. Elli knows you."
She smiled. "You are the amazing Huntress Kichea, are you not?"
((Ack! I wasn't sure! Oh well. We'll make it work!))

Kichea dropped the kill next to her and blushed. "I... was not aware I had a reputation. But yes... I know Elli... and if you are seeking her, you are a long ways off... But you must rest... you are in no shape to travel to her."

"The amazing huntress, hmmm?" Akin smiled at the name, lowering himself so Illitashia could slide off onto the bed of grass. "Yes, you are quite a ways away. Kichea and I will be going there, however. I don't know when but you are welcome to accompany us."

"We will wait untill you are both back to health. If it's an emergency, I can go fetch her..." Kichea answered, pausing before looking to Akin adding, "She needs water... she looks as if she drank the sand instead of the river..."

Illitashia smiled. "Elli mentioned you when we were travelling together.. It is no great emergency.. I am merely seeking her.. "
She tore into the meat. "I cannot thank you enough for your kindnes.."
((Have to go, sorry! See you tomorrow!))
"If you don't mind.. I believe I shall try and rest."

"Rest is good... you are safe, sleep soundly." Kichea left the cave, leaving Illitashia to her slumber.

Illitashia woke to dawn breaking, and raised her head to watch the colors reaching across the sky. It was cool and misty still, for twilight held its sway, and her favorite time. Elli's too.
She sighed at the thought of her friend. "Far off? Where did I go wrong?" She murmured to herself, pondering over Akin and Kichea's words. She sighed and stood carefully, stepping forward to get a better look at the colors. "I got lost.. And now.. Now Elli is waiting for me... I am sorry dear friend.. I am on my way." She murmured to the vanishing stars, her tail dancing over the sand. 'And now.. To a bath.'

Akintunde slept outside the caves, silver coat gleaming with forming dew. His sleep was light, ears pricked forward to catch any noises that might be a inquisitive scavenger or prey. As it was, he heard the pained pawsteps of the newest visitor to the Pride.
Silver eyes glanced back over his shoulder. "Are you feeling better?"

Illitashia froze at the sight of the silver king and shook herself, her freshly-cleaned rose coat gleaming in the soft morning light. She ducked her head and smiled. "Yes.. I am feeling much better, and I thank you." She murmured. "Your kindness... I.. thank you." She curbed her tongue and eyed him, admiring his glossy silver coat. 'Such a king... Kichea is blessed to have such a happy home.'
