How she hated that response. Miss him? Ha! Such arrogance... But in time, she actually started to do so. It was something comfortable about having him around afterall. Someone to blame on everything that went wrong, someone to help her out, someone to do as asked, someone to smile back at her, someone to... In the middle of her thoughts, the rice nearly boiled over. With her focus back on, she turned the heat down a notch. Stupid fox, comming here and disturbing my mind...

As Mórdae was back down, sitting quietly and looking at her, she suddenly felt a bit more satisfied of her current situation. They may be short on beverages, and she may be all out of money and about to be late to the forces, but something just seemed to make it all worth it. She wasn't used of this. So many negative points, and yet she stayed positive. This had only happened a few times in her life since her brother died. One of those times was the part of her life she was the least proud of. And still so, here I am. Back on that criminal rut. Aint that s'well, huh?

Then Mórdae began speaking. Katla was actually slightly pleased with this, as if he eased her mind off of all the thought she rather not have. But what was he talking about? "What weather? Rich boy can't stand the little breezes? Well, let me tell ya Morten, that's sealife right there for ya." But come to think of it, the ship did seem to rock back and forth a bit harder than before. And what was that sound? Could it be... The winds whining through the wooden hull? Oh dear god...!

Katla dropped the pot of rice right on the floor and ran up the stairs, only to be met by a hurricane wind up right before her eyes. There's no time to go for the island, it's too far off! This ship could never survive a storm like that... We've got to turn back! No, that's just as far... Then she saw it. "LAND! Oh thank goodness!" She leaped for the stirring wheel, quickly turning it to the only safe spot in eyesight. But wasn't there something familiar about that place? The closer she came, and the more she focused, she realised it couldn't be any other. Her face turned into a happy and somewhat wicked grin. "Time to visit some old friends, huh? Mórdae! Get over here and help me, you worthless rat! That land over there is our only chance!"

Again with the rich boy comments. Mórdae scowled, about to let out an indignant reply when Katla paused to take in her surroundings. All at once, she seemed to realize that he hadn't exaggerated what was going on around them, dropping dinner and all. So much for a peaceful dinner. Hell, it probably wouldn't have tasted that good anyway, seeing I made it. With a worried sigh, Mórdae got out of his chair and followed Katla to the upper deck.

The wind was overwhelming the second he laid his paws on deck. From what Mórdae could tell, there wasn't any rain, but with the nearly unbareable winds and the unruly waves, everything seemed to be wet. Some sort of mix of mist and sea spray was in the air, lowering visibility by the minute. It was hard to hear Katla cry out in the howl, the word 'land' being the only distinguishable one. Land? Surely they were too far from anything that Mórdae had remembered being on the map. But a quick survey of the unsteady horizon revealed a landmass that didn't look too far off. It definitely wasn't written in the playbook, seeing it wasn't exactly southwest -- more like east. Then where was Katla planning to go before the storm?

Mórdae went to seek out a spot on deck that was more sheltered from the wind. Just as he seemed to find a decent shelter, Katla beckoned for him to help her. Getting over to the wheel quickly would be risky business, the deck slick with water from the storm. But if Katla thought they could find refuge in the land close by, there was no reason to doubt her now. Watching his feet for particularly slippery spots was worth it; Mórdae arrived at Katla's side unscathed. "What are my orders, Captain?" Even with the wind swirling around him, Mórdae's voice remained loud and clear, full of cheerful enthusiasm, as always.

It was clear to anyone that Katla har regained her long lost good mood. All for the reason of what laid ahead of them. Mórdae's cheery replies didn't annoy her now, in fact, they even infected her own speech with a playful manner. "Ahoy, swashbuckler! Cut off them sails, will ya!?" For this moment, in the middle of a storm about to be reach its' rage, with the best friend she'd ever had ahead, life seemed at its' best. And with little Mórdae to do as told aswell, how could things ever get better than this? But then, Katla remembered all the poor children, the rebels and civilians, all the innocent creatures in Meldonia, praying for her help. She suddenly felt completely torn between her feelings and her values of right and wrong, good and bad. Was it right of her to enjoy yet another thing to slow down her journey? How could she even think of the fun she'd have when her and Sin got back togeather again? Yet, after all those years, wouldn't she be allowed to take her own personal wellbeing before another's, just this once? Would it really hurt that much? What was she supposed to feel at a time like this? The most frightening part of it all was that she had no idea anymore.

The fog seemed to be clearing up the closer they got, and though the view of the large city wasn't too pleasant. Thankfully, though, they were headed right towards the dock, and by the look of it, they'd be there in the matter of minutes. But night had allready fallen, and it seemed as if there wasn't a living soul in that place who could help them. Just for a moment though, Katla felt as if she saw a shadow move by. Must've been a cat. This fog can really play play you some tricks. Glad we're almost past it...

There was a very unpleasant feeling creeping in on her though. As if something just didn't seem right about it all. How could a storm blow up so rapidly? I didn't see any signs for it untill Mister Fancypants came back down... And as she turned around for just a moment to see how he was doing, she noticed how the storm seemed to be fading behind them, almost as if it had been attempting to chase them off the sea. The air was gaining the scent of the city now, in an unexplainable way, one could almost feel the stress and misery, the money and the trash, all the broken souls, all the empty lives. But as much as Katla hated the place, she loved the company. Well, not most of them, just her and the gang. But it was enough to make it all worth while. "Hey Mozart! Get ready tp pull 'er in now, mate! This vessel is done with the seaven seas for the night." She chuckled a bit, once again smiling widely, as she saw the port laying straight ahead.
