Okay, I know I should have put this on my profile, but I didn't think about it. In my character's history, I wrote how he was raised and trained by the Seven Swordsmen and that they also gave him his trident. I was wondering if the trident would be allowed to generate water on its own and, also with a custom technique, would a water style used with the trident be considered ninjutsu or bukijutsu?

It depends how you use it, if you use the trident to form a ninjutsu, ninjutsu, if you use it in a weapon attack it would be complex bukijutsu and require chakra equal to the rank of the jutsu used.

I see, I'm not sure who accepted my request into the guild, but there was the jutsu I planned on creating for my character's use called Triple Prong Burst, where one-three lances of water that's sharpened by his chakra be released from the tips of the trident's prongs. So I guess it seems like it would be more of a ninjutsu based origin, am I right?

No, that would be more along the lines of a complex bukijutsu...where you funnel your chakra into the trident and it creates that effect.
For it to be a ninjutsu, you would have to actually do a jutsu and then release it through the weapon. Like if you have Mizurappa, which is like a water gun(POKEMON! xd ), and you sent it through your trident rather than your mouth.

Alright then, thanks. I never go with my first mind on things like this, but it's good to have helpful guild members. So again thanks. smile

I doubt we can do this but I might as well ask
Can we create our own custom Taijutsu/Bujijutsu?
