Even once he was dragged to the bank, Shun wasn't really moving. He had already stopped struggling some time while under water and he certainly wasn't breathing at the moment.
Bent-Tail had hopped off of Milo's head to try and get a better look at what was going on. He saw Mitsu dragging the reaper out of the water, but it didn't look like the guy was conscious. Seeing this, the little mouse began to panic, making frantic squeaking noises and darting back and forth.
Spotting Lizzy nearby, he darted over towards her, spazzing out and running around her legs.

Lizzy had taken the mask without hesitation - their priority was saving Shun after all - and watched with bated breath as the ghoul went under the surface. When Mitsu didn't surface immediately, she tightened her grip on the mask in her hand till her knuckles were white as she started pacing the bridge. She heaved a sigh of relief when Mitsu finally broke the surface with Shun in tow; while it didn't look like the reaper was conscious, at least the ghoul had managed to drag him out!
Quickly, she turned and moved down the bridge quickly; she didn't want to stand on it any longer than she already have, and she wanted to check on the two. In her panic, she almost stepped on Bent-Tail when the mouse started to dart around her legs, but stopped in the nick of time.
"Aw, it's going to be alright!" She sounded like she was trying to calm herself as much as she was trying to calm the minipet. Scooping the mouse up gently, she placed him on her palm, Mitsu's mask held tightly between her fingers, while using her other hand to gently stroke him between his ears as she made her way to Mitsu and Shun's side. Lowering her hand so that Bent-Tail would be able to hop down on Shun's chest, she knelt down on the other side of the reaper before glancing at the ghoul.
"Ahhh! Um... We should get the water out!" She would try something, but... Nurse Cricket never taught them how to save someone from drowning!
She was pretty close to flailing - she just wasn't because it wouldn't help matters right now.
"DoyouknowCPRbyanychance?" She chewed nervously on her lower lip; she had seen it on skelevision. Its like kissing, only not really. But its still a kiss; asking Mitsu to do it is bad (if she knew how) but... Shun dying would be worse.

Milo wasn't sure what was going on when he saw his owner diver over the bridge. In his own little panic he followed behind Lizzy as they made their way off the bridge to see what had happened. When they finally made it to Mitsu and Shun the little boafox came to a stop next to the reaper sniffing at him. What was wrong with him? Was he sleeping?
Mitsu tried to stay calm, though it was hard now that her heart was pounding in her chest. He wasn't breathing! She had just started to moved to lean Shun's head back a little to clear his pathway when Lizzy arrived, shouting her panic. It didn't really help much and Mitsu could barely understand her second sentence but she did catch CPR. With a nod Mitsu continued her work.
The thought of kissing didn't really strike Mitsu. She had never kissed anyone before but it didn't stop her as she pressed her mouth over Shun's to brow air into his lungs before coming back up carefully placing a balled fist on his chest and her other hand over that. With as much force as she could muster she pushed down on his chest trying to force the water up before repeating the process.

As he was scooped up, Bent-Tail calmed down a little with Lizzy's words, but the little mouse was trembling in her palm. He was also still making little worried squeaks as he looked from the demon girl towards the other two nearby.
There wasn't much of a response from Shun initially, but after a few tries, his body finally lurched as he coughed up the water that had flooded his lungs. Coughing and sputtering for a few moments, he finally relaxed. With a groan, he opened his eyes to see the girls hovering over him. It took him a split second to recognize Mitsu, as he really hadn't seen her face until now.
Still not completely all there, he glanced between the two. Both looked pretty worried.
"..I don't know what you were talking about..." he murmured while still catching his breath, "But you don't have an ugly face.."
Yes, he remembered the reasoning she had given him for the mask.
Seeing that his master was alright, Bent-Tail settled down and looked up towards Lizzy. He seemed happy again. Gently, he nosed her hand while sitting there as a small bundle of black and green fur.

It was almost embarrassing to watch, and she quickly decided to look away after the first... Uh, round. If one looked closely, they would be able to spot the faint blush on her cheeks. She only looked back at Shun when she heard him cough - showing that the water had been forced out of his lungs.
"Thank goodness...." She sighed before tilting her head at his comment; that didn't make any sense at all! Could he be delirious? She shifted her attention to Mitsu, wondering if she might have an explanation before remembering that she still had the ghoul's mask. Holding it out to her, Lizzy grinned, studying her face, "You're an amazing swimmer! And you're pretty too... You really shouldn't hide behind a mask!"
Oh wait, could Shun be talking about that?
Feeling Bent-Tail nudge her hand, she looked down, giggling at him before scratching him on his head with a finger, "See, told you that it'll be alright~" For a moment there though, she thought he was going to end up in Nurse Cricket's office... She wasn't sure how happy the nurse would be to receive a patient so suddenly!

Relief washed over Mitsu when Shun coughed up the water in his lungs finally coming around. She had been worried she wouldn't be able to save him. About to ask if he was okay his words caught her ears.
She had been so caught up in what she had been doing, trying to help him....that she had completely forgotten about her exposed face. Her crimson eyes grew wide, her pale cheeks flushing to match the color of her irises. Nervously she looked up at Lizzy as she held out her mask to her and Mitsu almost jerked it from her hand to secure it back to her face. The girl had been staring at her and it made her blush all the more.
"S...sorry." She apologized for being so grabby only then realizing the girl had said something nice....she had.....said something nice. That fact was hard for Mitsu to grasp, she had never really gotten a compliment before, especially on her looks. She wasn't sure how to react though something about it made her feel....happy?
"Are you going to be okay?" She finally asked looking down at Shun.
Milo had sat in silence the entire time, feeling frantic because his miced tea friend was in a panic over his owner. His owner was trying to help though and he could feel the surrounding tension lesson as the reaper began to cough up the water in his lungs. Gently the little boafox placed a paw on the reaper's arm wondering if everything was going to be okay now.

Shun stared as Mitsu practically panicked with his comment. Had he said something wrong? He didn't think he said anything particularly a*****e-ish but he wasn't much of a people person in the first place so he could be wrong on that front.
Even after she had put the mask back on, he stared at her, confused by her reaction. It took him a moment to realize that she had asked him something. It dawned more on him now that she had really saved him here. He wasn't completely certain how to feel about being saved, but he was grateful at the least.
"Yeah.. I'll be fine.. thanks," he murmured before glancing at Lizzy for a moment. Now that he was breathing more normally, he was more relaxed.
"She's right though.. you don't really need the mask," he added. It didn't quite occur to him that her cuter features would be the source of her insecurities. Pausing, he glanced over at Milo as he felt his small paw on his arm. The reaper just patted the fox lightly on the head in response.
Bent-Tail happily took the scratches. Yes, Lizzy was right. All was well! And now he was getting pet which made things 100 times better. Yes.

"Oh, no worries!" She nodded, waving a hand in the air dismissively as she grinned; ohh, this ghoul is adorable! Standing up with Bent-Tail still on her palm, she looked at Shun before looking at Mitsu, and then back at Shun again. She smiled sheepishly, tilting her head, "Seeing how both of you are soaked to the skin, shall we head back so that both of you can get a quick change of clothes?"
After all, being wet and cold (and the water smells funny in not a nice way) must be pretty uncomfortable!
"Indeed! The mask is nice, but you have a nice face that don't deserve to hide behind it!" She meant every word she said; like Shun, however, she didn't really get why Mitsu chose to don the mask.

The ears on the top of Mitsu's head began to droop a little. They were both saying very nice things....but that's not what she was used to. It wasn't something she had grown up with though now knowing that Halloweeners could say kind things made her wish that she had. Even her guardian told her that her cuter assets were a pointless feature for a monster to have unless they were a succubi.
Making sure her mask was securely in place Mitsu just focused on what Lizzy had said before about changing clothes. "L-let's get something dry to wear." Standing up Mitsu was still dripping water but she held her hand down to Shun first to help him up before she started to ring out her clothes.
Milo's tail began to wag as Shun patted his head. That certainly made the mini pet feel better.

Shun caught the ears drooping and didn't quite understand. That time he was certain he had actually said something nice. Eh. He supposed it wasn't too big of a deal, but it was a curious thought in the least. Something was going on that he wasn't aware of.
Glancing at her extended hand, he slowly took it and helped himself up. He was completely drenched, so getting something dry to wear sounded pretty good right about now. Walking around soaked and smelling like pond scum for the rest of the day did not sound all too pleasing to him.
"By the way," he said while glancing to the wolf girl, "You don't owe me lunch any more."
Turning towards Lizzy, he nodded and started to head back towards the dorms.
".. We'll take the long route on the way back towards town," he murmured. The reaper didn't want to end up risking another incident where he'd fall right back into the damn water.

She gently transfered Bent-Tail to her shoulder before noticing the way Mitsu's ears were drooping - while her first thought was 'Is she upset about something?', her second thought of 'AW, SHE IS SO ADORABLE!' pretty much overwrote her first thought rather quickly. While she was still curious about the mask - and the way she put it back on so quickly - Lizzy decided to leave that question for another day.
"Oh! We could buy some takeaway lunches on the way back," She nodded at Shun's comment on taking the long way back; after that incident, she wasn't sure they should attempt the bridge again anyway. Besides, she could take this chance to show the two around, despite how they look and smell right now, "My treat~ As a welcome to the school! Mmm, we can eat it on one of the picnic tables around school."

Mitsu seemed almost confused when Shun said she didn't owe him lunch anymore. But how was she supposed to ...oh....maybe he counted pulling him out of the water paying him back. Instead of saying anything she only nodded, taking up her tail and trying to rid it of some of the foul smelling water.
"Take away lunches? Y-you don't have to pay," Mitsu mumbled going from her tail to her long pony tail to rig out the water. It was horrible...horrible enough that Milo really didn't want to stay close to the two for long. Instead the little boafox moved to wrap itself around one of Lizzy's legs watching for the time being.

Taking off his waterlogged jacket, Shun tried to get rid of some of the water from it before deciding to just carry it for the time being. There was no sense in putting the thing back on right now and all.
Raising an eyebrow at Lizzy as she offered to pay, he glanced back towards the bridge briefly, then towards the direction of town.
"You sure about that?" he asked her. He didn't really want to have to owe her. If anything, he kind of already felt that he owed Mitsu for saving him here.
Milo wasn't the only one. Bent-Tail could smell the two as well and phew they stank! He loved his master and Mitsu was a very nice girl and all but he could do without the stinkiness. The mouse would stick with Lizzy for now.

"Its fine! Its not everyday I make two new friends in a single day~ Or make that four new friends," She giggled softly as she looked down at the boafox around her leg, reaching out to pat it gently on its head before picking it up using both hands. She then held it so that they were face to face before tilting her head, an amused grin on her lips, "Heyyy, what's your name?"
Realizing that the minipet couldn't possibly reply her, however, she peeked out from behind it to look at Mitsu before smiling sheepishly, "Does it have a name? I forgot to ask you for it before!"

Milo looked up at Lizzy as she picked him up off the ground. He didn't seem to mind staying rather placid in her hold. Her tone of voice made his long tail start to wag though, his ears perking at the top of his head. The little boafox gave a short soft yip as if trying to tell her what his name was but as she guessed, communication was difficult.
"Oh uh...yes. Milo." Mitsu offered Lizzy her boafox's name.
The lupine still felt rather gross and wasn't sure how well she would be able to eat her lunch if all she was going to smell was scum. "C..can we eat our lunches in one of our rooms...so we can shower?" Shun probably wanted to be clean too but she could be wrong. She just knew that she would not be putting food in her mouth while smelling like sewage water.
