For a second she smiled, for a second. She seemed happy, and then her amber eyes widened. Then she stopped breathing. It was happening again. Rendo. Rendo was happening all over. Hatsu was a man, and as a man he was not to be trusted. She had her sons, had Shai even if he left Lunarie, had Ari and Nato.... she didn't need anymore men in her life.
But she wanted it. She wanted someone to curl up besides again, wanted something to stay beside and claim as her own and yet.... yet she didn't want to break again.
So she ran. In a split second the woman ran. She was from a family of runners, so before Hatsu could even stop her she had darted.
He watched his mother run, snarling at Hatsu. "What'd you do to her, freak?!" He snarled, tail lashing back and forth violently.
"You made her sad." Hikaru snarled, bristling from beside Kaoru, ready to lunge at Hatsu if he tried to reach his mother.
Rush moved forward, knocking his bothers down and sitting on them firmly. His eyes flicked at Hatsu, stern. "Go on." he snapped, not enjoying the snarling fest that was going on under him.
"Go already before she goes to Ari. Then you won't be able to see her again. She's probably by the field of flowers."

Hatsu chest hurt as Nuishan ran. "W-wait!" But that didn't help. He heard the twins snarling and was ready for what they were going to do to him. Then Rush intervened. He nodded at Rush. "Thank you." He darted off in the direction Nui went. He came up to the flowers. "Nuishan... please don't run away from me. Not before I have the chance to prove my worth... please."

She had escaped into the flowers, head turning when she heard the male behind her. Her eyes widened, taking a step back. Slowly, she lowered her body into a fighting stance, though it was obvious by her eyes that she would not be attacking him anytime soon. No.
He was another Rendo, wasn't he? She couldn't deny the fact that yes, she liked him a lot, but she wasn't risking that again. Not now, not when she had more at stake. It wasn't just her heart at risk, but her sons, too. She had promised to never let them hurt again.... Never let them see her weak again. And now here Hatsu was, chasing after her.
"Prove what?! That you're another one of him?"

Hatsu left his guard down around her. If she wanted to attack him he didn't care. If she did he'd just stand there. He could never hurt a woman. Especially one that he loved.
"No. I want to prove to you my love. I want to prove that I will be there for you. That I will never leave you side." He stood his ground. "It's why I was honest when Rush asked me of my intentions. But there is more to that. I have loved you before you met Rendo. You were the most beautiful thing I have ever laid eyes on... Still are. I wanted to tell you how I felt. But I was too shy, I ran away. Because of that mistake, I lost you to him. I thought I'd never get the chance to tell you. But I'm here now. Telling you. Do what you want with my words. They are all true. You can hate me. Or not. I just wanted you to know... before I lost the chance again."

What? Nuishan had to fight her urge to snarl, eyes widening at his words. He had known her before? Seen her before? So why? Was he a stalker? No, a stalker would have come after her no matter if she had Rendo or not...
Suddenly, her mind reeled. Why hadn't he fought for her, then? She could have avoided all this pain, all this heart break! She could have been happy. However, she stopped. No. Rendo was not a mistake. Rendo had brought her sons. Sons she could love and now devoted her life to. Without him she would never have her sons...
Then there was Hatsu, promising her something she had been promised before. Yet, she wanted to believe him. Wanted to trust him, even if she felt it nearly impossible.
"What about my sons? My tribe?" She asked quietly, her voice no longer as strong as it was before, weaker. Hatsu.... he was a kind and gentle man, and she found herself longing for that. And yet she could not lose her sons or tribe.

"I think your sons are wonderful. I'd like to be there for them too. If they would allow me to be a father to them then I would proudly take on that role." He could she she was calming down, just a bit, he continued. "As for Lunaire, I want to join. I know what that tribe means for you. Even if I am not accepted I will be right outside waiting for you."

She backed up, shock in her eyes. Wait.... what? He would be a father to them? The vixen stared at him, and then slowly blinked. Was he going to give up his entire life as he knew it to make a new one? Why? Rendo hadn't done that.... Nuishan had given up hers for him. Was this really alright?
Yet, who else would she accept? He made her smile, blush, and feel happy again. She had always wanted her sons happiness, but it was also.... nice to have her own. As she stared at him she seemed dumbfounded, heart panicking.
"You'll throw away your entire life just to live in ours?"

Hatsu nodded. "My life isn't much now. Throwing it away to be in your lives, would make mine so much more better." He smiled at her, a smile that was warm. His glow was bright, but not offensive. He carefully approached her. And when he was close enough he pulled her close and kissed her gently. He knew it was a risky move, but he felt it needed to be done.

Nuishan was going to protest, going to say he shouldn't have to lose everything to be in their life when he moved closer. Now, she may be a bold, strong woman, but even she could grow flustered, and she did. "H-Hatsu?" Surprise rushed through her when he pulled her closer, and she went stiff at his kiss.
What? Suddenly. her pounding heart stopped, her fears halting. It felt right. It really did. Hatsu felt right. She didn't want to be alone. She didn't want to watch everyone else in love and feel that familiar pang anymore. She couldn't keep doing this to herself. She wanted to be with Hatsu, and she wanted to him to be hers. She pressed into the kiss finally, withdrawing shortly after.
"I-I..." She paused, managing to control her voice. "I would like you in my life.... in my sons life... too."

He nuzzled her, still keeping her close to him. "Thank you." He smiled and gently brushed her cheek with his paw, he was looking into her amber eyes. He was truly the happiest he has ever been in his life. But now being with her. He was certain he would have many more with her and her sons. His new family. "Shall we get back to the boys? I know they are worried." He smiled softly and chuckled a bit.

"Ah, yes." She had almost forgotten that her sons would probably try and kill Hatsu, laughing softly. "How do we explain...this?" She didn't know what to call him now.... her mate? Oh. She hadn't said that in so long... Absently, she decided she didn't want to rush things this time. She didn't want to botch it up.
She moved to direct him back to her sons, already hearing them bickering in the distance. Wait... why hadn't they followed? She knew the twins would want to kill Hatsu, but Rush? Perhaps not.

"We could always be honest... and if not. I'm sure they would get the picture." He smiled and followed her back to the boys. He saw Rush first and smiled at him, then nodded. Just another thank you. If it wasn't for Rush, He might not have found Nui. Heck... He probably wouldn't get past the twins.

As they traveled back, Nuishan spotted her son, Rush, and flicked her tail. Already she could see the twins struggling to get out from under their larger brother, pawing frantically at the ground. Might as well get this over with...yes?
"I took Hatsu as my---" She stopped, glancing at him. What was he? She was to old for the label boyfriend, that was a teenager or younger adults thing. No, she wasn't searching for a boyfriend. She was searching for someone to be a father and a mate. "As my mate." She finished, pleased with the sound of her voice strongly announcing this news and not shaking.
Kaoru jumped up when Rush got off him, eyes boring into Hatsu. That is, until his mother spoke. In seconds he turned around to stare at her in disbelief, tail sub-consciously wrapping around Hikaru's.
"Wait.... he's your mate?" He turned to look at Hatsu. "This skinny guy?"
"D-Does this mean he's supposed to me our...." Hikaru bristled, he didn't want another dad. He was happy with his mother and brothers. Rendo wasn't a father to him, he was happy without him. Shai was a good male model. Yeah! He was the best they had ever had!
Rush cleared his throat, unable to speak. While his brothers were rejecting the idea he was contemplating it. Shai was their father figure, but he was their uncle. He wasn't their father. Rush had always wanted a father, though if he had to choose he'd always choose Nuishan over that. Still, Hatsu was kind to his mother and he had heard the stories...
So why protest? He flicked his tail, deciding to hold off on calling Hatsu father, he wasn't ready yet, and smiled. "Then I guess we have to talk to Ari."

Hatsu smiled, he was trying to control his glow so he wouldn't blind the others. He looked over at the boys with a sincere smile. "You do not have to consider me as a 'father' I would completely understand." And he did, He knew what they went through with Rendo. To be honest he was glad he wasn't being skinned alive. He lightly leaned against Nui and nuzzled her. He looked over at Rush. "Ari? The Elder of your tribe? May I ask why you need to talk to him?" Hatsu didn't quite know about how tribes worked, so he kinda wanted to know. In case he was ever accepted.

The leaning in and nuzzle made Nuishan flick her tail softly, blinking at the contact. She wasn't denying it, she liked the touch. She was the kind of fox that enjoyed showing her affection. However the look the twins were giving her......
"We have to speak to Ari because you cannot be accepted as my mate or anything more until he accepts you in the tribe or he confirms a out of tribe mating, which is rare." She said, nodding towards Rush.
The orange eyed male looked away, not amused at all.
So, now he had a new guy fighting for his mothers attention? Anyone knew the twins were complete momma boys. Why? They love their damn mom, and no one was stealing her from them. Ever. It was bad enough Rush tried. Glaring at the male, he jabbed his tail to point at him.
"You aren't stealing mother."
Ah, was it time to give the male a hard time? Kaoru was more emotional than him, always had been. Him? Oh Hikaru was loyal and loved his mom, but he wasn't doing it to only fight for her love, though it was that, too. He also wanted to see if the male would stay in the long run, that meant torment from both of the twins. Persistent, every-day torment. Torment that would not let up.
Wait wait, he may join the tribe? Even more access to attempting to frighten him...
Watching his brothers, he knew what they were thinking. Flicking his tail to collide into both their heads he sighed. Yes, it was different, and yes all of them were going to have a new life, but who said that was bad? They never had a father, the one that was supposed to be their father had never returned for them.
So, what could they lose? They couldn't lose a father. They couldn't lose their mother because he knew she'd never leave them. They couldn't lose their tribe. So why fight?
