Its a shame with sid vicius, he was only an idol because the s**t he did. he goes with alot of bassists that are overated. like gene simmons, and danzig from the misfits.

FIELDY FROM KORN.
That guy is the worst thing to ever happen to an instrument, I cant beleive he got picked up by ibanez for a signiture series! all he does is tune the instrument down to like, the lowest octave and make clicks with it!
I play with a pick sometimes, but to be fair, I've played guitar since I was 6. but I only do it because I have short fingers, and I dont really get alot of force when I wanna do a ton of string-skips.

[Oblivous] Sorry if I offend anyone, but I just plain don't like Shavo from SOAD. <.< Why? Because I think that ANY bassist that resorts to playing with a pick is just a wannabe guitarist. <.< >.> I agree with the pick thing but I didnt think Shavo used one. He dosnt in the Hypnotize video.

how dare you say mark sucks...... thats just not cool.....i know plenty of people who are worse.... but im sure if the white stripes had a bassist he would suck....hmmmm most bassists i know are really good.... but thats just me

Compare blink 182 to the Chili Peppers, Audioslave, Primus, or The Weather Report. They make blink look like those kids that play... 7 Nation Army Smoke on the Water Iron Man Turning Japanese (just the beginning, of course) ...and so on. ___ As far as other bad bassists go... I only listen to good music.

remotly_insane Sid Viscious has to be one of the worst bassists of all time. Holy s***, he had the punk rock attitude, and sadly, he also had the punk rock ability to play. Most punk rock "musicianship" sucks fat c***. Dude, you're avatar is dressed in amlmost the same way as this bassist in a band I saw last night. You wheren't playing at a club called Mercury where you? Anyway I have a hang over from last night. My opinion is pretty reserved as to who is a bad bassist, partly because at this point I don't think I can out play anyone. sweatdrop

I dont use a pic..but i dont see any thing wrong with useing one. Yeah, he's a good bassist, I just hate the fact that he resorts to using a pick.. <.< chris squire used a pick and he was pretty damn awesome. (bassist for yes)

[ Absolut Terror ] Add Slipknot's bassist to the list. I think his name is Paul something. He sucks. He finally learned how to play an open string. scream in this bass magazine i bought long ago..there was an article on paul grey from slipknot..and i laughed so hard. i cant find it now but it said something about he said that his their music was becoming a lot more complex...with the releease or their new album... and then on the next page is the tab to duality and its all 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 3 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 6/0 very complex indeed.

In my opinion the worste are the people I know who say "I know smoke on the water" when I tell them that I play bass. I usually respond to them with "Thats great. Now go screw yourself and learn a better song.". It just makes me mad when people think they are good bassists because they know that.
