Raziel had been a little slow getting to the field. He had signed up for the class a long time before in the gym and had assumed that the class was going to be there. When he got there, nobody else was there and he had waited some minutes before looking on the doors to see if a sign was posted, after finding the sign Raziel made a dash for the field.
Upon arriving, there were a lot of other students there, most of whom Raziel didn't know, but there were of course some that he did. He snuck up behind the crowd in time to hear Red's directions. Once she was done speaking Raziel took his time stretching and getting ready. If he was going to have to guess a path across some field, he definitely didn't want to end up cramping or something partway over!

Marushii You start on the bottom, and must work your way to the top. (( TO CLARIFY: Your first number will ALWAYS be 10. You are starting at 10, and trying to work your way to 1. ie, you are trying to cross the field to get to the trees. You can start at any point from A - J as long as it's 10. Sorry for the confusion! ))

Things Bul heard about Red convinced him to not test the professor's patience, and like Blue, he knew that following orders and actually trying to learn from a class was preferred over loafing.
"Well... guess I'll see you guys on the other side. Given that I make it of course.." Bul only uttered the last part to the ghouls around him before saluting and suddenly taking to a sprint down the field in winded motion unsure of what was about to happen to him.
For a moment he felt a spring of glory in his step- being the first one out there. However, the feeling was short lived as he suddenly realized he'd also be the first to ******** up. Well... it didn't matter he was the first on the other side of that dark chasm so he'd be the first over it again. Sin listened to Red with a faint frown on her face, she didn't like how cold the gym professor could be...but she didn't expect to be babied. She had come to class knowing Red was tough, so when Red showed them to field and told them to get across...she waited for someone else to go first. What was the trick? Were they going to be chased? Was there a hidden pit? It looked too easy...way too easy. Sin frowned and finished stretching out her legs and wings and then moved up to the field waiting for Bul before she went.
Maybe if she got thrashed out here some her of survivors guilt from the island would fade. Don't be stupid...she told herself, she had nothng to feel bad about..but somehow she still did. She didn't understand why she had been lucky when so many others hadn't been. She still couldn't get the image of her friends falling into dark pits or being slashed to ribbons out of her head. She was still angry that the Professors had shown up at the last second, and that they were angry at them! They had no right to be upset when they had led everyone into that kind of danger. Screw Christmas and screw that island.
Sin dashed out and started to zig zag she wasn't going to run straight and let something bowl her down. Of course she probably ought to step a bit more cautiously but instead she just put on a burst of determined speed.

Not a bottomless pit that would lead to his doom, there was an infirmary here. There should be no reason to be scared. So why did his legs refuse to move? He had no idea why his legs refused to listen to his mind, the body still remembered all the trauma his brain choose to push aside. Wasn't the brain stronger than the mind however? "Its ok, I can do this" the hound told himself for a boost of confidence, already feeling his legs limbering up back to a part of his body that should work with him, not against. The first step was unsure behind the line, but the rest of his steps were pushing forward and with no signs of stopping, just sharp turns and sidesteps. "I can do this!"

"Hm?" Instead of continuing to reach for her toes, Colette had gone upright and began to stretch an arm across her chest. She looked at West and took note of his grin. "Excited?" she repeated. "Yeah.. yeah, I guess so." Despite the blatant feeling and display, she didn't exactly realise how obvious she was making it. Tilting her head slightly, Colette asked, "Why?" His grin perplexed her. Was she amusing? Funny? He wasn't making fun of her or something, right?! The Grim Reaper started to worry, but Red's voice easily distracted her before she even began to wait for a response.
"Hey, it's starting!" Colette looked from West to Red and began to head towards the professor. "Let's get closer," she said over her shoulder to the boil. She wanted to make sure she heard everything.
Colette stopped within acceptable listening distance of Red and looked at the field as the professor explained what she wanted, but the Grim Reaper could only focus on one thing. Pouting, Colette sadly echoed, "Battle exhibitions are on hold?.." Disappointment, and it showed. She didn't even move to sprint through the field with her arms flailing in joy. Colette just took a moment to stand there and look sad.

Grinning at the hell hound, Mei returned a wave of her own, pleased that she arrived here as well. "Well, you know. Had better times, but everything is okay I guess." Her attention moved to other students getting ready to move across the field, and then to Bul. "Nah. I bet Professor Red has all sorts of surprises at the ready." Nodding to herself as she eyed the field, thoughts on what lay ahead clouded her mind. The fact that Professor Red was all to pleased about it didn't secure any safe thoughts either. "Hmm, looks like we'll have to wing it." She was about to answer Bul when he questioned on who would make the first move, but watched as he instead moved on ahead. "B-becareful Bul!" The idea of being separated from their little group was enough to make her nervous...but it was necessary in order to move forward. Turning to the two ghouls, she gave a wave to both Natalia and Whisper, hoping her nervousness didn't show on her features. "Good luck guys. We'll catch up later, for sure!" Stepping towards the field herself, the doll practically gulped as she made her way across the field. Wow, Red was something different altogether. She had heard so much about the gym teacher, but this was actually the first time she had attended one of her classes... Perhaps the rumors about her are true after all. Then again, she was pretty sure many of them enrolled in school to learn to be tough and all, so in that sense, Red is a pretty good teacher.
Getting up, she gave her arms a good stretch before turning her attention to the field they have to cross; it looked normal - no booby traps that might lead to being cut up by spears, darts or other sharp and pointy objects, and no machines of any kind to suggest that fire might be involved. She shivered at the memory of being burnt alive before making her way to the starting line that Red had pointed out to them. Some of the students had already picked their route - students she only knew by name from other classes, and even some whom she had never spoken to before.
Either way, she didn't want to be the last one out there. If anything were to happen, she would rather not see it happen to one of her friends, as selfish as it was of her to think that way.
Well, its always good to start at the middle, right?

Her path was poorly planned; actually, it wasn't planned at all. Red had said something about luck, right? Her luck had proved to be terrible - both during the island and on a tabletop game - so she was just... Leaving it up to fate now.

Lucien's pounce didn't go unnoticed, and the Siren made a surprised cry before settling down and cooing at the presence of his friend. "Lucien!" Jumping up, the siren hugged his best boil buddy. "Oh my gosh I feel like it's been forever! I was on a BOAT! And I got attacked and then there was this creepy fog and people died and then I screamed and attacked things but that's normal but yeah I lived and oh my gosh I was so scared but I made it and-" Red's words made Israfel flinch, quieting him immediately. Earwings flat against his skull he shuddered. "I almost died on the island but for some reason the other bathroom scares me more." Shaking his head, Israfel bumped Lucien's forehead with his own. "But look Lucy!" Wings flapped and Israfel hovered off of the ground, maintaining his air-born status for a few seconds before huffing and falling back to his feet. "I'm getting better!"

Claire was sooooooooo excited! Since she was illiterate, naive and gullible, school wasn't exactly... easy. However, she was okay at sports and gym was sport... Right? Claire flung her hands in the air excitedly and ran towards Red saying " MISSERS ORA--RED! I HAVE MY PATH RIGHT HERE YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!" She didn't give it a second thought. This was a school. Nothing could go wrong. OBVIOUSLY. Claire straightened out her kitten shirt and looked pleased with herself. Why wouldn't she be pleased? SHE WAS A CHAMPION. Everyone in gym was going to be sooooo JEALOUS. She grinned at everyone. They looked... Odd. Maybe they didn't like sport? That wasn't good. Why did they sign up for gym, then? SILLY. Maybe they thought they were going to fail school and become garbage eaters. Maybe they liked the taste of garbage? Garbage wasn't that bad, actually. Had a nice flavor. Anyway. Her parents would be so proud /wipes tear crying heart

Junko stared at Red, eyes wide and hair hanging limp the moment the professor arrived on scene. She was very glad they didn't need to wear their gym uniforms for this, so very, very glad; she'd rather wear her kimono. She frowned and bit down on the end of her thumb, looking around at the rest of her classmates. To be honest she was actually a little disappointed this wouldn't be a battle exhibition! It had been one of the things she actually wanted, because all the times she had come across something hostile she'd had her butt handed to her! Or...you know...her hair. Junko shuddered at the memory and played with a section of hair, the rest of it finally writhing and twisting lively as a sort of comfort to herself. Never again. Never. Again. But why had battle exhibitions been put on hold? One would think now of all times would be when they needed them! So they could, y'know, learn how to actually fight without dying! And the fact that Mei was in this class as well made her want to do it even more. She had to learn how to defend herself against ghouls like Mei, though considering her last fun adventure with psycho banshees she was beginning to find Mei a much lesser evil than she originally was. It helped she didn't attack her on the island too. But damn, Red was a blunt woman. Junko frowned at the insensitivity of her words, looking around at the other students again to see how they handled that place being mentioned again. Who else had died? She hadn't see quite a few people she knew had been on the island, and it worried her. Everyone seemed to have been brought back in one piece and at least physically okay, but she was still so worried. How was everyone else handling their return? Junko watched with bated breath as Bul stepped out onto the field, clutching and pulling at her hair. This...this didn't look so hard! What was she worried about? Even Sin was doing it, and Demi, and Mei..Lizzy, Claire... This was too easy. "Why are the exhibitions on hold?" She muttered with a deep frown, giving an unhappy little sigh as she stepped up to the field. How was she going to do this? She couldn't just go in a straight line, right? Well she could but considering this was Red that would be a bad idea. Maybe zigzags? But too many zigzags would be a bad idea. Junko walked to the furthest end of the field before she began to make her way slowly across the field. The sideways look Mei gave to Bul made Natalia bite her lip, somewhat wounded by the fact that the stranger would need to approve of their presence. Not that he didn’t, of course. He was more than happy to have the two new ghouls standing around, flexing and maneuvering about in preparation; but it still worked a nerve nonetheless. But, as the conversation continued, the monster tried to put it behind her—not everyone was as brash as Natalia, and she would certainly have to be okay with politeness at some point or another.
So she smiled wide and waved a hand, mostly waving off the aggravation, but the gesture could have easily been taken as another greeting. “Trust me hon, you look good!” And then her attention reverted back to the tiny brunette beside her, white arms instinctively closing the gap between them. Nudging her hell hound with her hip, Natalia tried to bounce Whisper out of the instant funk she landed in, only moments after Bul had asked her about a Dark Cove. It hit her then that not even SHE had asked the demon how she was doing, not even on the night of their sleep over! And catching the worry in her eyes, and the way those perfect lips contorted into a slight frown at the thought prompted the lemur to remember to inquire later on. For now, she saw the light return in Wisp’s face at the sight of Mei, and with that Natalia moved along with the conversations.
Or, rather to find Bul sprinting onto the field, followed soon after by the lovely Mei. Suddenly Natalia was silent, features fallen as the two became dots in the distance. s**t. She wanted to go first. She wanted to take the fall for Mei and Whisper, and Bul even—
s**t.
It became obvious that now was her time to go forth and take on the field, competitively driven despite the fact that no one else seemed to be aware of her desire to…well…win?
“Whisper, let’s do this! Pick a side and head out okay? I’ll meet you on the other side.” Leaning over to plant a kiss on the ghouls cheek, Natalia chuckled before sprinting onto the field. ((F10, F9, F8, F7, F6, G6, H6, H5, H4, I4, I3, H3, G3, F3, F2, F1))

It didn't come as a huge shock to Astra to hear the teacher say she didn't care about what had happened to them, since it seemed that none of them really seemed to care. But it still sent a shiver down her spine to be reminded of her experiences in that horrible place. And it seemed she wasn't the only one. Listening to the instructions, she looked over the field. It seemed...very boring actually. She couldn't see anything wrong with it, nothing to give away any possible booby traps. The fairy sighed in exasperation; This had nothing to do with decision making! it was just a guessing game. Sure, she was incredible lucky to survive the island, but that didn't mean she would be just as lucky here. How was this going to help anything. Privately she wondered if Red was angry at them for some reason and just wanted to see them blown up. Oh well, It didn't matter now. She may as well get this over with, and hope for the best. Her wings kicking into gear she flew across the field, trying to use her speed and...hope she wasn't about to be roasted. While Raziel had been stretching, other students had already begun to cross the field. He looked up in time to see the first student to go, he looked somewhat familiar, but Raziel couldn't be sure. He looked like one of the students that Raziel had met briefly while on the island. A few students later an exceptionally loud student went screaming across the field. Raziel wasn't quite sure why she was going about it in such a way, but he wasn't about to try and find out. Without too much more thought, he stood up, moved towards the edge of the "playing field". It was now or never, and with that Raziel set off, running his path. ((path: A10, A9, B9, B8, B7, C7, D7, E7, E6, E5, D5, D4, E4, F4, G4, G3, G2, F2, F1 ))

West followed Colette closer to their instructor, glad that the interruption had distracted the reaper from their conversation. He had seen her fight in Christmas Town, and while he wasn't against pissing her off through mockery in the future just to see what she would do, now was not the time. Apparently, he was about to have his a** handed to him, battle exhibition or not. Or at least Professor Red thought so. He was pleased to see that their teacher was pretty much everything he'd heard she was in a classroom setting. West wasn't one to put much stock in rumors about the faculty, mostly because he hadn't heard a thing about several of his favorite teachers before taking their classes, but he supposed no one had been inclined to sugarcoat how they felt in this case. Red certainly seemed prickly. "Lookslike," he said, still smirking at Colette. "I'ma givvit a go anyway," he said to the ghoul. "Seeya on th'other side." His gaze found Holly in the group of students who remained on the near side of the field, and he gave her a short, mocking wave before making his way across. West zigged and zagged, hoping that his erratic path would confuse whatever was lying in wait for him, if it was, in fact, actually sentient.
