As his grip tightened she tensed more, though at the same time tried to inwardly calm herself. This was made infinitely easier due to being on her trusted, precious Pidgeot, and she even managed a small laugh at his enthusiasm. She didn't blame him for wanting to go higher, but she wanted to make sure he really wouldn't fall off. That and flying at roughly ten feet above the ground wasn't fun anyway, but it was still high enough for her to break her arm.
Anyway.
"You sure you won't fall off?" She asked after turning her head slightly so he'd hear her better, a smirk clearly visible on her face. His grip seemed secure though, and hers was obviously fine, so there wouldn't be any problems. Hopefully. Damn she wanted to get going, flying always made her feel so much better. "What do you say, Odette?" Claire asked, releasing one hand to pat the bird's shoulder before holding on once more. The Pidgeot responded with an excited "geoo!" that made her owner chuckle. It was one thing watching Odette show off from the ground, but it was another thing entirely while riding her, so with a grin she urged the bird higher. The Pidgeot responded readily - finally! - before powerful wings worked to carry them higher and higher, and within seconds they had surpassed the height of the base. Odette finally leveled off and leaned to one side, opting to glide now and only flap her wings once every so often. She didn't need to constantly at such a height.

The speed of acceleration. The world dropping away. Claire's hair - slightly wavy - blowing in his face. The chill of the wind made him glad he'd worn his jacket, and wonder if Claire was cold... Na, she did this all the time, she must just be used to it or something. "I have to say," Aulus grinned, "this is a hell of a lot more fun than a car!" Quicker too; they weren't limited by terrain or by following roads once they got close to the city. This was the way to travel... Oh, not as good as riding a Rapidash... Well, maybe as good, but not better. “I’ve got to get myself a Pidgeot.” Not a Rapidash. He couldn’t face the idea. It wouldn't be the same anyway.

"You're damn right it is," she chuckled, thoroughly (and obviously) enjoying the ride. She always did. Even if she was cold, the body beneath her and the one with arms wrapped around her kept her warm enough. At the thought of him needing to get his own, she couldn't help but chuckle. "Shouldn't be too hard," she said, gaze focused on the horizon for the time being. She toyed with the idea of offering her aid if or when he got one - she'd never helped anyone with a bird before, and the prospect was a little exciting, she had to admit - but.. no, he'd probably ask anyway if he wanted help. Actually, she'd be a little disappointed if he didn't ask her. ...why would she be disappointed? She shouldn't be, had no reason to be.. anyway.
With a devious little grin, she half-turned her head so he'd be able to hear her. "Better hold on tight," was her only warning before leaning forward a bit, and the bird beneath them let out an eager "pidgeooo!" before suddenly swooping down sharply towards the ground, her wings at a rather extreme angle. Claire was grinning broadly, savoring the feeling of the wind blowing through her hair. The almost-dive-bomb hit its low point about six or seven yards from the ground, when the graceful bird re-angled her wings and sent them soaring back up into the air. Who needed roller coasters when you had a bird that was infinitely better than any metal thing they could think up?

Well it seemed that his ploy had worked, she was definitely a lot more cheerful now. The fact that in the process of cheering her up he got a ride to the city on an awsome bird (and snuggled up to an awesome bird) seemed fitting, like good karma or some crap. At Claire's warning Aulus lent forward too, and let out a whoop of exhilaration as they dived, and dived, and pulled up just before the ground. "I want to go again!" Definitly the way to travel.

If there was one thing that always made her feel better without fail, it was going for a ride on Odette. She laughed at his enthusiasm again, urging the bird into a similar dive. Eventually they would go to the city, eventually they would eat, and eventually they would return, but for now they were flying high, and at the moment, that was all that mattered.
