there's no way out, the only way out is to give in
When there's no way out, the only way out is to give in
How I'd love to ...give in

--------------------------------------------------------------Empty, Metric

The night air is cool as it flows in through the opened windows. The rustle of leaves seem almost rhythmic, like the beating of wings. There is something strange about this place. The blueness seems so pure that it nearly flows off the walls like water. "Where in the world am I?" Kiyoshi wondered as he glanced around to that there were others around him. They were the same people he had just been having tea with.

Tea. He sat up suddenly. Kiyoshi remembered there being something wrong with the tea. It being...drugged. Why did they drug them to take them to this place? What was here that such measures were taken to prevent them from knowing where they were?

://Sorry I have been so controlling of the rp. I wanted to get the characters in the Evaluation. Now that we are in it, there will be a greater chance to get to know each other and such. Anyway the setting is something like you fell asleep and woke up in this place. You are NOT told this is virtual reality.
PostPosted: Wed Jul 27, 2011 6:11 pm

(I'm fine with the RP maker taking control like this. As long as it's something that affects teh character, and not taking control of the character and making them do something out of...character. XD )

The first thing max was aware of a pain in the back of his head, followed by one where his metal leg met flesh. He groaned and sat up, one hand on the back of his head, the other on his thigh. "What the hell?" He asked no one in particular as he tried to rub away the pain in his head. He would have asked what had happened, but he had a feeling. He would have asked how he got here, but that was probably the same answer. Instead he asked, "Who the hell clocked me?"

As he waited for an answer, he looked around the room. His first impression was that it was blue, almost too blue. The next thing he noticed was that he was surrounded by the same people he'd been 'enjoying' tea with not long ago. At least, not long ago by his internal clock. If they were here, then they probably weren't guilty of delivering the knockout blow. The thought of being knocked out by the girl that sat next to him was laughable, anyway.

Phaedre OoO Axis OoO Deveroux

An apathetic genius:

Chimes ringing, a quiet whisper, laughter full and rich, screaming, someone crying softly, a muttered oath then... She was awake. Axis did not rise immediately, instead allowing herself a moment to remember where she was. The scent of the ocean, swearing she would not--drugged. She had been drugged.

"Sons of whores!"

She rose without thinking, leaping to her feet, fists clenched.

"YA boĭnyu svolochi i drosselʹshlyuh, chto rodila tebya. Vyrezhʹte vashih yazykov i kopirovatʹ vashi shary iz mezhdu beder. YA budu horonitʹ nozhi v vashyeĭ cherepov i mochu vrottng rany vashyeĭ ploti. Trusy! Shameless vory poluchitʹ! Vy nichego ne znaetechert vozʹmi, ya navedu na vashi golovy ! NICHEGO! YA drapirovatʹ vashi kishki o kachestve ukrasheniya ! Vashi kosti budut moi igrushki. YA ostavlyu tebya slepym i molʹby o smerti. Svolochi! Ty menya slyshishʹ? Poproshaĭnichestvo ZA SMERT!"

Chest heaving, she grabbed the nearest object and flung it towards the wall. Then froze. The rage was gone, replaced by something much more frightening.

"Niet."

Eyes wide, she scanned the room. Perhaps... this was only a remnant nightmare. She had dreamed this before. They could not... taking a deep breath, Axis knelt and placed both hands on the floor. She felt only what was meant to be felt. Still, why else had they been drugged. So this was it.

"No words you give, just leave. Cruel. Old fool, king's to you."

She reached for the flask which was no longer there. Nor the cigarettes. With one last oath, Axis sat on the floor, folded her arms and fell to silence.

Will solve your problems. Will not tell you the answers.

R1: I will slaughter you bastards and choke the whores that birthed you. Cut out your tongues and rip your balls from between your thighs. I will bury knives in your skulls and piss in the rottng wounds of your flesh. Cowards! Shameless thieves get! You know nothing of the hell I will bring upon your heads! NOTHING! I will drape your guts about as decoration! Your bones will be my playthings. I will leave you blind and begging for death. BASTARDS! YOU HEAR ME? BEGGING FOR DEATH. ... tl;dr death threats. Note: It amuses me to write her ranting in Russian. Because that's what she does.

Someone was shouting in a really loud voice. "Cala a boca (1)," Maísa mumbled sleepily. "Minha nossa! Estou tentando dormir. (2)" She sat up, irritated that she had been woken. The blueness of the room shocked her into wakefulness.

She tried to remember where she was. There was a banquet of some kind...and then she fell asleep at the tea party afterwards. Perhaps one of the staff had moved her to her room without her knowing it. But why were there so many people here? There was no way they were all sharing the same room. And this didn't look anything like the room she was assigned.

The mad woman had stopped shouting. She seemed now to be examining the floor. Was there something interesting about the ground? Maísa reached down and stroked the cold tiles with her hands. It seemed like a normal tiled floor. The woman was now sitting on the floor, as if she had reached a realization. It was even more disturbing that she was now silent.

"Onde estou(3)?" Maísa asked, her voice almost a whisper. Realizing that she was no longer in Brazil, she repeated the question again louder in English. "Does anyone know where we are?"

More people began to wake up.

1) STFU
2) Oh my God! I am trying to sleep!
3) Where am I?

://Thaedrian, could you increase the font size of your english translation to maybe a 7? I can't read it. >.<

"Finally someone speaks proper English again." Max said in response to Maísa's question. "I don' know where we are, but I can tell you what I'm gonna do to the person who did this." He said, looking around the room. The pain in his head was dulling, and his leg was back to normal. He swung it off the bed, followed by it's fleshy counterpart. Servos whirred as he found his balance, and his hands went to his head again. He'd forgotten how standing up quickly affected a headache. He resisted the urge to shake his head to clear it, and looked to the others waking up around him. "I think a better question is why were we all knocked out to get here."

"We got knocked out?" Maísa asked. She had thought that she had just fell asleep from the warmth of the room and the tea. And the chair. The chair had been quite comfortable. If that was the case, then it would explain why the Russian Woman was acting so weirdly and why Max seemed like he had a headache. But Maísa felt no symptoms at all. It was like she had just woken up from a long restful nap. She hadn't slept that well since she was on morphine for having her wisdom teeth pulled.

The thought of morphine troubled her... drugged? What could have possibly carried the drug? Unless it was the...tea. Maísa remembered that Max hadn't drunken any of the liquid. Perhaps they had knocked him out because of that. No wonder he had a headache. This was beginning to turn into a bad action movie or something. That was the thing about movies. They were always fun to watch but being in them is a bit disturbing.

"Is your head ok?" She asked him before standing up to look outside the window to see where they are.

"That's strange." She then said, "There are forests outside of the window. There are no forests on Baker Island. You could see the sea in all directions."

"Then, dear lady, we must no longer reside on Baker Island."

Xander leaned against the wall beside the bed he had woken in, blond hair falling across dark eyes as he smiled at Maísa.

"They must have moved us for some purpose. My name is Xander, by the way. And what would your name be oh vision of the dawn?"

He began to approach, tripped, and fell flat on the floor. Rising, a deep red blush spread across his face.

"I... uh... I am unharmed."

Xander, the inept playboy.

"Tch, what an idiot. Nice landing there, very graceful."

Saefas clapped slowly as she smirked at Xander, her usual bad mood broken for the moment as she paused to savor the misfortune of another. Then she saw the only remaining sleeper and her usual glower quickly returned. A cutesy sort of girl who dressed like she was five and wanted to grow up to be a 'princess' or something stupid like that. Back to her old, angry self, Saefas stomped over to the girl's bed, leaned over and shouted "WAKE UP!!" in her ear.

Saefas the Angry & Zoey... the Really Sleepy?

Much to her surprise and annoyance, the girl merely mumbled something and turned over. Moving to shake the girl awake, Saefas was stopped by a firm hand on her arm. Lucian shook his head slightly as she pulled free from his grasp and stalked off.

"Honestly! Children these days."

Straightening his jacket, he turned to regard Max with a faint smile.

"Vengence is not the most prudent course of action, young man. Especially if the cause of our removal are certain government officials. It would be better to simply wait for instructions or an explanation of the measures taken. Surely there was a good reason for all of this."

This last was spoken with a hint of doubt in his voice.

Finally there's Lucian. Who is very much the cranky old man some days. And that's the lot of them, except Absolom who will be showing up sometime in the future.

"Fine," Harper replied, irked that Ava always had somewhere to be and never seemed to have time to relax. She perused the papers as she leaned back on her desk and paused at the picture of a young woman with a fierce glare and long, black hair. She looked dangerous enough, at least, so maybe Harper wouldn't be all too bored this time... She looked at the time and realized that she'd better start getting herself ready for the Tea Party, which she'd probably show up late to just to annoy General Owen. She sighed, putting the papaers down on her desk and leaning back into her chair. Just a few more minutes...

-

Harper walked into the banquet hall, her hair piled on the side of her head casually with a turquoise flower. No one seemed to notice her as she leaned against the doorframe, surveying the newest batch of her victims. This was going to be fun... Her eyes caught on a young Portuguese woman the files referred to as 'Maisa'... sounded more like a vegetable, in Harper's opinion. And just look at the tacky way she was dressed! She was snoring peacefully on her own breasts, and Harper laughed, her face jolly for once. What a dunce she was! Some pampered princess, no doubt. The head honchos around here really had a thing for picking out the perfect losers, didn't they? And those other guys... she'd be having loads of fun with them, wouldn't she?

She walked into the silent tea room and shook her head. "Drugged them already, Owen, baby?" she teased. "And here I thought I'd save my own grand entrance into the Game... can't you even spare a little compassion?" Of all the idiots she had to work with, Owen was her favorite, only because something about him screamed badass, and he wouldn't mind her teasing him. He was a General, but he sure as hell didn't act that way. She cracked her neck, then helped him to hoist the bodies intot he next room, where she watched as their brains were plugged into the virtual reality machine.

"Sweet Dreams is right,"
she said sarcastically as she headed over to her own station, switching the computer on. On the top part of the screen was a view of a beautiful room... a room she knew all to well. That was the recieving room, in the middle of the forest, where they'd be waking up soon. She laughed as Owen gave her right of way.

"Don't mind if I do," she replied as the last player was connected. The bottom half of the screen was black, with plenty of room for typing in key codes and cheats and anything else she could conjure up off the top of her head. She typed wuickly, her fingers flowing rapidly across the screen.

"Room Service!" she said cheerfully as she hit the enter button and placed a pair of goggles over her eyes. They weren't as advanced as the machines that the players were plugged into, but that was fine for her purposes, since alls he needed was to see. Her part wouldn't come until much, much later, when she actually entered The Game, but for now, she might as well introduce her own character so they'd at least see her face.

-

There was a knock on the door of the house where the players had just awoken. Moments after, Harper let herself into the establishment and walked straight into the room, making sure to float through walls and make herself appear as eerie as possible. She looked completely different, with long, white hair and a generally ghosty appearance. She twiddled her black umbrella cheerfully, despite the fact that there was no rain.

"Morning, lovies!" she said cheerfully. "Welcome to your brand new home! There are a couple of things you should know before leaving. This is a test of your strength and ability, of what you can and cannot do, and of your reactions given certain life-threatening situations!" Back in the real world, Harper grinned as she leaned closer to the microphone. "There's only one goal, and that goal is to be the last one standing after all of this is over. This doesn't mean to go kill each other, but you should all be careful nonetheless!" The ghost grinned. "You won't see too much of me, but just know I'll be there if you ever need me! Just call if you need help, and I'll appear! But for now... choose your weapons!"

There was a flash of white light and a row of weapons appeared in front of the players. "Whatever you pick will be yours. One only please! If you cheat, you die! Have fun!" And, with a grin on her face, Harper vanished into a puff of black smoke, leaving the players flabbergasted and confused.

Tempest opened his eyes suddenly.

Awake, he scanned the room with his eyes. It was blue, he noted with a nod of approval. Blue was a good colour. It was the colour of his eyes.

Silently, he sat up and watched the people around him. There was a tall blonde man who was speaking to a brown haired girl who he recognized immediately to be Maísa. She was one of those teen pop stars who could actually sing. Tempest had seen her on TV a few times. He had always hated her.

The blonde guy was Xander. He had just introduced himself to Maísa. Tempest noted that he was very bad at using pick-up lines. There was another blonde guy standing with them. His name was Max. He had introduced himself at the tea party back then.

Names. It was always important to remember other people's names. Tempest waited around for more introductions but none of them came, except Maísa who he already knew. He watched them steadily, sitting so still it was nearly impossible to hear him breathe. He seemed more like a shadow, a piece of furniture, than a person. And he listened.

A different woman popped in through the walls. "It was dumb to carry an umbrella when there was no rain." Tempest thought. She told them that this was a test, that the goal was to be the last person standing. Then showing to them a table filled with black bags, which she claimed were weapons, she vanished into a puff of smoke.

Tempest stepped forward, ignoring the confusion of the people around him. Reaching his hand forward, he touched one of the bags and then the room seemed to melt in front of his eyes. Without struggling, he closed them and sunk back into the blackness.

Kiyoshi had not yet understood what the woman wanted before the room fell away. He wondered if they had again been drugged. He had never fainted this many times in one day. Doing so gave him a mild headache.

Looking around him, he seemed to be in what appeared to be a catholic church. The stained glass windows looked eerie in the darkness, casting long distorted shadows across the pews. There seemed to be no one around him, Kiyoshi noted and knowing that made him tremble ever so slightly. This was a dream wasn't it? Just some bad nightmare that he was having because he'd eaten too much at dinner the day before. Please tell me this is just a dream.

There was a black bag right in front of him, lying on the ground as if waiting to be picked up. It was the same one that the ghost woman had said contained a weapon. Shaking slightly, he picked it up and sat half crouching on one of the pews. It may be the only thing that would give him at least a sort of a clue of what the hell this was all about. There were four things inside. A booklet, a bottle of water, a flashlight and what seemed to be a personal tracking device. Turning it on, he verified his assumption as he watched the dots move on the faintly blue glowing screen. Using the flashlight. He opened the booklet and began to read.

"Hello? Anyone there?" Maísa called out to the darkness around her. Using her flashlight to look around, she was able to determine that she was presently in a warehouse. This was like a bad horror movie in real life.

There was a mace in her bag, she thought. If anything jumps out at her, at least she is not defenseless. Right now she only has one goal in mind, find the door. All the rest of this craziness could be figured out later.

Maísa moved along the walls, shining the beam of light into the darkness. She walked along it, using her sense of touch to guide her.

A certain amount of time passed, she wasn't sure how much time exactly, but finally, her hands wrapped around the cool rusted metal of a door handle. Using all her might, she planted her foot into the ground and pulled.

Tempest sat in the crevice of the stairwell in front of a school that looked quite different from his. It seemed to be a boarding school. The insides were quite well furnished, as if the school was open until just yesterday. And now, looking down the darkened corridors of the dormitories, he imagined the ghosts of the students who had lived here walking through the building.

User ImageHe relished the thought that there was a crossbow in his pack. This was turning into one of those video games he would always play. Tempest loved shooter games, aside from the more modern games, he had even gone out of his way to acquire the older ones like Call of Duty, Halo, or Counterstrike. This was what he spent most of his free time doing. And now, it was as if he could play a real life shooter game. But what was he supposed to shoot? Were there things that were going to come out at him? Or was he supposed to shoot the other people in this game. Why else would they give him a crossbow?

They had also provided him with a booklet, which contained one sheet of instructions and a map. Tempest studied the map for a while before reading the instructions.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to the Evaluation.

The objective is simple, eliminate all other players
and be the last one alive.

No one is allowed to leave until there is only one
person remaining.

Have fun!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

They seemed straightforward enough. It was exactly like a shooter game. Tempest began to feel excited. He walked further into the school, taking things from other people's rooms and the kitchen. He needed to stock up on provision first or else he'd die of hunger before he could kill everyone else.

"So cruel, Harper dear." The general said, pulling up a chair besides her. "You hafta play with them like that?" He chuckled at the scenario. Harper could be a sadist sometimes. It was amusing to watch her. It was sort of cute how excited she got about torturing people virtually. Owen didn't think much of it. He's never been a fan of these computers and technological things. It was more fun to watch all the government people take this so seriously. Did there really need to be a certain time in the year where everyone took a break just to watch virtual people kill each other in fake life? Maybe it was just an excuse for a break. Whatever. The representatives were the ones who set this up. The rest of the people, he included, just do this to get paid. Harper's one of the few people who finds this actually fun.

"You want some company?" He asked Harper. "I got no where else to be for now."

:// Woo!!! A ridiculous number of posts finished!!! Now I need to stop procrastinating on real work. XD

Max opened his eyes and blinked a few times before it set in. He'd been knocked out. Again. With a groan of anger he punched the wooden bench he was laying on, resulting in a dull thud and another groan, this one of pain. "I swear to God, if I find out who keeps doing this, I'll..." He was too angry to finish the sentence, and as he looked around, he realized he probably shouldn't have said it in the first place. He was in a church, a pretty nice one by the looks of it, In the middle of a pew, in the middle row.

"Sorry, Sir." He muttered. He wasn't religious, but he figured it wouldn't hurt to try and stay on a supposedly all-mighty being's good side. As his anger subsided, he sat up and found a bag laying at his feet. Hoping for some kind of answer, he opened it and dumped out it's contents. He was stunned when an honest-to-goodness scythe fell out, along with a flashlight, bottle of water, and a booklet. If an answer was to be had, it would be in the booklet. As he read it, though, he remembered what had happened before he was knocked out. Realization dawned on him as he looked to the weapon again. They wanted him to kill those other people. With a scythe.

"So they put me in a church, give me a scythe, and tell me to kill people." Max said, hoping to understand the situation a little better by repeating it. "What the hell do they want me to be? The Grim Reaper?"
