me thinks they mentioned somewhere in the game he was some sort of cat.....or am I mistaken?

Game-wise I'd say his face looks more wolf-ish, but in AC he looks a little more cat-like.

Red is actually a lion hence his tail if you notice he has a flame at the end and is the same colouring as a lion...

i would say hes some kind of new species of animal created by the makers of the game but i'm not 100% sure of my opinion

I am under the oppinion that he is of the cat/tiger nature. He may howl at the moon but that is just a facet of his tribes culture. In all honesty, he is neither... But I believe he bears the most resemblance to the feline family.
