Yar har ho har… I’m a pirate…

User ImageForme Adrien turned, but didn’t flinch away from the shots. This girl was irritating him, trying to force her ideals onto everyone else. Like she knew all that there was to know. Adrien was caught off guard as Heather collapsed, crying. Her tale disgusted him, made him want to find that man and teach him a lesson. Teach him just how pirates were supposed to act... Before he tasted death.
Adrien crouched down, one hand curling around her shoulder, and the other tipping her face up so his blue eye could meet her eyes. “Listen.” He said softly. “Scoundrels like him and his crew are out there. That can’t be helped. Just like the criminals on land. There’ll always be those who do awful things and have no values. But just because you live on a land with criminals, are you a criminal?” He asked her. “Does that make everyone just like those murderers and looters?”
Adrien pulled his hands back, standing up. He looked off of the edge of the ship, to the crashing waves and the growing darkness of the sky. “If I could, I would kill that man. Worse than how he did to your mother. Honestly, I can’t say that that story is unheard of.” Adrien shook his head. His face was a bit bothered, angry. His mind kept flashing back to his father. His stomach churned. “But you can’t hate all of us because of one man’s repulsive actions. That’s just not right, Heather.”

…Or something like that, anyways.

Heather looked at him and nodded, she wiped her tears away and stood up."No I'm not a criminal more like a protector of those that can't protect themselves. And my father said the same thing before pirate blinded him with greed and other things that can't be explained real well..." she rubbed her arm and looked at the floor.

Yar har ho har… I’m a pirate…

User ImageForme "Why do you always blame it on the pirates?" Adrien walked towards the railing, his fingers gripping the edge. His voice was colder, a bit angry. "A pirate doesn't have any more power than a regular man. Greed is fed by many and all people. Not just one. So why then do you ignorant people have to always blame it on those that you can't understand?" Adrien's blue eye closed. He forced himself to breath in the salty air of the sea, something that usually suceeded in calming him, but right now had no effect.
One of the crew members made his way over to the duo. "Adrien." He shook his head a bit. His voice was gruff, yet you could hear the caring note in it. The man was the same man that Adrien had spoken to before he had come up to Heather. He was a lean man, but it was obvious that he was strong. He laid a hand on Heather's shoulder. "Perhaps you should just leave him alone for the time." He suggusted. "You must be hungry, after fighting and all that. Why don't I make you something?" He offered, casting a glance at Adrien before turning his attention fully towards Heather.

…Or something like that, anyways.

Heather looked at the man and nodded,"Thank you and okay I will leave him alone." She sighed,"i didn't mean to blame the pirates...okay i was blaming my father...hes a pirate...he killed my mother." she looked away and held back tears.

Yar har ho har… I’m a pirate…

User ImageForme “Hey. No need to apologize, it’s alright.” He took her arm and led her across the ship and down into the little kitchen. “Adrien’s just a tad sensitive about things like that because of his father.” He shook his head a bit. “It’s a long story.” The man moved to the refrigerator, rummaging through it. “Ah, where are my manners? I suppose I’m not used to new people on the ship. The name’s Shane. Cannon’s what I go by around here, though. Shane is too much of a pretty boy’s name for me.” Cannon smiled a bit. “So what kinds of things do you like? I’m a pretty good cook, if I do say so myself.”

Adrien stood there for a moment before hearing the familiar call of “Captain!” He didn’t move though, his fingers tightening around the railing and his blue eye closing tightly. Captain, what a hideous word. He was no captain. He shouldn’t have had the boat, the crew. His father should have still been alive. Adrien’s lips formed a tight, thin line. “How repulsive.” He hissed, though he didn’t speak of what was so repulsive. He could smell the familiar smell of a storm on the horizon, he didn’t even have to open his eye for that. “What a pain. Storms at the most inconvenient times.” Adrien sighed.

…Or something like that, anyways.

Heather smiled,"Just a sandwich is fine for me thank you." she smiled and she saw from the window storm clouds."I see we are going to have a rough trip cause I see storm clouds."

Yar har ho har… I’m a pirate…

User ImageForme “Aye aye. When it comes to this sandwich, you’re the captain.” Cannon smiled, pulling some ingredients out of the fridge and putting them on the small stand that had been placed next to it. “Nah.” He shook his head as he shut the fridge door, looking over his shoulder at Heather for a moment before turning his attention back to the sandwich, opening one of the jars. “Adrien’s been on this sea his whole life. Ever since he was born, pretty much. I would say he’s been on here longer than all of us, but he’s younger than all of us.” Cannon laughed. “Don’t worry your pretty head about a storm like that, though. It looks small. Unless we’re sailing with it, we should be out of it before morning.”

Adrien spun around when someone called for him again. He was trying to lock his irritability in a box, but it hadn’t been going so well. It was hard to rest your mind with the ever-looming storm on the front. “She’ll be fine.” He called back, his eye opening but his head not moving. The only worry was because they were headed for repairs. The boat had acquired some holes and leaks as they were attacked by another ship, but Adrien knew they could make it. “Just keep on your toes.”

…Or something like that, anyways.

"If you say so but if you need help around the ship I would be happy to help." she smiled and she continued looking out the window,'I'm not sure that his ship is in the great condtions to sail in that weather if the Captain likes it or not.' she thought.

Yar har ho har… I’m a pirate…

User ImageForme “Well, yeah. You didn’t catch that? You’re not here to be pretty, darlin’. Though that is a boon, I must admit.” Cannon turned over his shoulder and winked at her, assuring her that it was just a joke.
“You’re here to work, as well.” Cannon finished the sandwich quickly, tossing the ingredients inside the fridge. “Viola. One sandwich for the pretty lady.” Cannon grinned, setting it on the table. He then sat down across from her, leaning back in his chair, his hands behind his head as he watched for his reaction. It wasn’t that he was expecting her to hate it. It was just that the ingredients weren’t… Usual.

Adrien turned from his spot, finally getting ready to brace the ship for the coming storm. “Get your boots on, men!” He ordered. “The sea maiden is about to toss us up!” He thundered down the steps after his call was done, looking for Cannon. Where has that scoundrel run off too, now? Adrien sighed. He finally made it to the kitchen, where he could hear a chair moving. “Cannon, I need you to-” Adrien stopped, his eye falling on Heather. “Oh.” He said slowly.

…Or something like that, anyways.

Heather looked at Adrien and she blushed a little and she looked at the sand which,"I'm not really that hungry anyway...I might get sick cause of the storm." she got up and ran up the stairs and she looked at Adrein quickly when she passed him and she stopped running when she reached the railing on deck.

Yar har ho har… I’m a pirate…

User ImageForme Cannon set his chair back on the floor with a shrug, taking a bite of the abandoned sandwich. "Ya need somethin' Cap'n?" He asked, his brows raising.
"Sory to ruin your little date there, Shane." Adrien smirked a bit. The old friends shared a smile for a moment before Adrien got back to the buisiness at hand. "Ya think you can man the wheel, even as the night crew comes up? Ya know I don't have someone quite as fine as you at the helm."
"Oh, shut up." Cannon rolled his eyes. "Adrien, I'm pretty sure you stomp all of us at that." But, catching the hidden meaning behind the captain's words, he stood. "I'll get my boots on and be right up to give those lollygaggers the what-for. Aye?"
"Aye." The two men looked at eachother for a moment, Adrien remembering the times when they were both boys. Back wehn they only had to stay out of the way, not worry about putting everyone ten feet under the black sea. "So she say anything useful to ya?" He asked, his brows raising as Cannon stood, polishing off his sandwich.
"Hah. Adrien, you know that I suck with the ladies." He said, pushing past him. Which they both know was an utter lie. "Nothin', I'm sure you're glad to know." Cannon winked.
"Not!" Adrien called back over his shoulder as Cannon passed him. He stood there a moment before turning and going up the stairs. Better find out what that pain in the neck is doing, now. He groaned inwardly.

…Or something like that, anyways.

Heather stood on the railing and she held on to a rope, she saw the lighting and she heard the lighting,"Great just what I need...well my father said something..oh." she remebered that she had to tighten the mast ropes. She climbed up the mast pole and she tugged on the ropes she tied the ropes she knew she was doing it right cause she watched her dad do it once.

Yar har ho har… I’m a pirate…

User ImageFor.me Adrien leaned on the pole underneath where Heather had climbed up, his head tipped up so he could watch her. “Knew she was up to no good.” Adrien murmured, smirking to himself. He was a bit surprised that she knew what she was doing, though. Plus the fact that she hadn’t totally wet her pants yet. “And she says pirates are all bad. She would be considering herself in that lot.” Adrien shook his head a bit. Adrien waited for her to come down. At least now they would have something to talk about.

…Or something like that, anyways.

Heather climbed down the pole and looked at Adrein and sighed,"Your going to ask me something now aren't you?" she crossed her arms and she felt rain starting to fall lightly.

Yar har ho har… I’m a pirate…

User ImageForme “Oh, I was going to ask you questions, anyhow.” Adrien shrugged. “What’s a few more, eh?”
A light rain started to fall and Adrien looked up at the sky, lightning flashing in the distance, thunder rumbling few moments after that. The storm was going to be a doozy, that was for sure. But they would be ready. They were already ready, though it was just a sprinkling for now. Adrien took a deep breath of the salty air. The smell of rain flooded his airways. He breathed it out, smiling a bit before his attention snapped back to Heather. “I appreciate the help, but if you want a job, you’d be best to ask first.” Adrien tried not to make it sound like too much of a reprimand. Adrien’s arms folded across his chest as he leaned against the pole, his eye searching her face. “Anyhow. You did a job and it’s appreciated.” That was about as close as Adrien had ever gotten to a ‘Good job’ in a long time. “What else do ya know about ships?” The rain started to fall a bit harder, and Adrien looked like he was enjoying himself, his hair getting wet and sticking to his face, his shirt clinging to his skin. This was probably his favorite part about being a pirate.
