"Ilmenite its part of the game..." She whispered narrowing her eyes at Chaonis again. "After all, why not enjoy fighting if your about to get bruised anyways?" That was her philosophy at least. If she was in this war.. she was going to damn well enjoy it.

"Oh dont worry babe, i have FAR more in the chest department than you can handle anyways." She managed to pinch out a moment before he charged, signaling the start of the fight.

She hoped that Ilmenite realized the two would need to work together on this one, or they were screwed. The lieutenant was gripping her lantern pole with gloved fists before sending it swinging for the super senshi. She resisted the urge to call out 'FOUR!'

"Hmmp." Something witty: he fumbled for words, shaking his head at Faya and shrugging helplessly. He had nothing. So he'd fight, and when he got home, he'd make himself up a list of witty things for future battles. If that was the way the game was played, he'd have to learn.

For now, though, Ilmenite out of the way, dancing two steps from Faya to give her room, skirting widely out of the reach of that lantern -- and finally stepping in behind the senshi, his feet set and hands up in preparation. If Fayalite's swing landed, he'd be ready to catch a tumbling Chaonis. If the senshi stepped back out of her reach, he'd be ready to trip him. Either way, the man should be going down.

Chaonis was focused on the weapon, which may or may not have been the way to go. Either way, that was what his instincts told him to do. He lashed out, moving to block or catch the lantern that was being swung at him.

He didn't know how strong it was, if it could do anything, or if it was a distraction, but he didn't really care in any case.

Chaonis wasn't much for caution. He took hits more often than ducked them, unless he was absolutely certain that it would knock his head off. Generally, this was not the greatest course of action, but it certainly made things more interesting. So he let Fayalite's lantern hit his arm without losing stride. The hit knocked him off balance, but he found his footing with a swing of his leg, righting himself and smashing his fist upwards in an effort to upper cut her now that he was close.

Since Ilmenite had opted to scoot out of his line of sight, Chaonis wasn't thinking about him.

Fayalite let out a grunt of pain as it all seemed to happen in slow motion, the attack had been successful... hitting her square in the bottom of her jaw. A single thought flashing through her mind, she thought about how glad she was she was not in civilian form. How bad Ever was beaten up... if this hurt this much in a powered form, she did not even want to think how bad he was feeling in civilian.

A new found respect was gradually forming for her team mate, but she would need to concentrate on that later.

Her leg was already flailing around as she saw stars, falling backwards form the super senshi falcon punch equivilent. Using a booted foot, she attempted to nail the senshi in the chest...

Not to harm, but to push him in to Ilmenites grasp.

Her current partner was ready -- or as ready, really, as he would ever be, his feet settled and hands out, eyes darting from Faya to Chaonis as her head rang back. She was impressed he'd taken a blow in civilian form; he was impressed that she'd come around so quickly to strike back, and that she had the quickness of thought to do that.

Personally, at this point, Ilmenite probably would have just run for the hills, if that came after him. With backup, he stuck around, even eased forward a step so that he could wrap the senshi up, tangled in long arms if her kick hit.

Chaonis grinned as his punch connected, loving the sound of Nega face meeting senshi fist and losing to it. He was ready to follow through with more punches, but Fayalite's foot flashed up and he didn't have time to pitch backwards, catch it, or get away from it in anyway. He foot connected with his armored chest, and he felt himself, with a whoosh of air, get sent stumbling backwards.

He tried to right himself but balance and gravity were against him. His angle had been off because of his punch and throwing his body into the attack, which left him vulnerable enough to falter as he backed up by force.

So he slammed into Ilmenite, and quickly found himself being held by the Nega.

"Hey, now is not the time for spooning," Chaonis grumbled, immediately struggling against the hold, trying to get his feet under himself properly and shake off the daze of the kick to his chest. He didn't feel panic or worry yet, fueled by the fight and glad, in a way, to be getting a challenge from the two of them.

With a rather undignified THNK on her a**, followed by a curse, Fayalite had landed on the ground. Had she been fighting alone she would probably have grumbled a lot more. Standing up a moment later, her ears now ringing from the punch, she just rubbed at her a** like that really hurt!

"Give me your duct tape!" She said to Ilmenite, approaching from the side and not waiting for an answer, before swiping it. Careful to avoid any flailing limbs, she ripped a few pieces off from the roll of...magical never ending duct tape.

Taking them, Fayalite attempted to tie the senshis ankles together.

Ilmenite couldn't have given it to her anyway, even if she'd waited -- as his arms were abruptly full of flailing, angry senshi. The worst part was that, now that Ilmenite had him, he didn't know what to do with him. So he clung, and occupied, and tried to keep his head out of the way or any blows, digging around for something useful.

"...generic snarky comment!" It came with a helpless edge of amusement: Ilmenite thought that was much more clever than it really was, he shoved his knee into Chaonis's to keep him from catching his balance, and then came up with something better to say --

"What's your name?" It was close to Chaonis's ear, gone still for a moment. Zink would want to know.

Chaonis growled and struggled as the 'girl' Nega, which he would have said with a sneer if he were thinking out loud, came over to tie his feet together. He wasn't a fan of this plan, and he wanted to get away from the both of them.

Then get right up close again, to beat the ears off of them.

"General snarky THIS," he growled, ignoring the demand for his name. He was not in the mood to introduce himself at the moment. There were other things to do. Like smashing his head backwards into Ilmenite's face. He wasn't sure if it would connect, though, because he was being forced to his knees as his balance was thrown once again.

"My name is WARNING, EARTHQUAKE ZONE," Chaonis yelled, calling his attack. His ankles were tied, but he still had his damn fists. And now he was powered up, his magic affording him a boost in physical strength until he built up the energy he needed to unleash a focused earthquake. He lashed out, trying to break free from Ilmenite and lurch around to swing at him as well.

"Oh, s**t." Was all the negaverse could think as she finished securely tying the mans ankles.

She should have tied his damn wrists first.

They were really in a pickle now. "Ilmenite, Let go!" Let the senshi drop to the ground like a falling worm.... He would need to either take a moment to remove the duct tape, or would hop around like in a three legged contest, Minus two legs.

Speaking of duct tape.. "Catch!" She said, Tossing the magical roll over towards her team mate. She prayed he didnt miss, but he at least knew if he banished the weapon and recalled it...it would be in his hands again.

Right?

Maybe, on a rare 29th of February when he was entirely sober and paying perfect attention, standing very still, Ilmenite would have caught the duct tape. Maybe if it had been daytime, sitting together in a room, and Faya and very gently lobbed the roll at him underhand while meeting his eyes, he could have gathered the athletic skills to nab his weapon out of the air. Maybe if he was one of his brothers, playing little league and then local baseball...

But with a senshi's head cracking into his chin as he dropped, in the dark and the chaos of a nighttime battle? There was just no way.

Ilmenite's head snapped back with a curse and the duct tape sailed easily over his head to disappear off the edge of the roof. As he lost his footing, though, he banished the weapon and resummoned it before he hit the ground.

He'd spent a lot of time alone in his room playing with that. More than he would have liked for any of his teammates to know.

"...damnit, Faya..." He fell back and rolled away a foot or two: more scratches and bruises that left him grumbling, but at least he kept his eyes on Chaonis, raising his voice again as one of those hands came up for a swing. "Duck, come on!"

It was followed with the distinctive tear of a long strip of duct tape. He didn't know what he was going to do with it, but...

Chaonis was not a happy camper.

He was oblivious to their game of not-catch, not watching the duct tape because he simply did not think it was worth his time. He had more important things to worry about, anyway, considering he was tied at the ankles, furious, and about to get attacked.

Oh hell no.

The Senshi of Danger heard the duct tape and immediately felt a stab of doubt and wonder. What was he planning on doing with that? Did he have a plan? Was there more to the tape than he knew? Of course, thinking these things did not stop Chaonis from reacting on instinct rather than with some kind of planning or caution.

He tried to move, as if his plan was to break the tape by sheer force of will, but of course that effort failed. He pitched forward and slammed into Ilmenite with his body rather than his fist, which he was intended. He felt he had no choice but to expel the energy he had collected early. It wouldn't be powerful, but maybe it would be enough to help him get a chance to escape. The building shook and the roof cracked and split, though nothing gave in. One crack stretched toward Fayalite.

It did, however, groan ominously, giving off the impression of shattered glass just waiting for the right pressure to touch the right place. And then it would give up.

Fayalite suddenly had this LOOK on her face.... one where here mouth made a 'O' for a moment.

The roof was cracking, the ********. And one was heading for her. Staring in wonder, she watched as the thin line went between her feet.. and to the other side.

"....Uhm. Ilmenite, fighting is amazing and all but im getting a SINKING feeling that living to fight another day is better." Her fight / flight instincts were kicking in enormously.

"...Might be good to get you out from under him though." Little late to the draw, Fayalite stepped as is walking on an active mine field...making her way for the pair.

The intent had been to truss up Chaonis's wrists while Faya distracted. Ilmenite had a long stretch of duct tape between his hands, already torn with his teeth, prepared for the act -- and then the Senshi fell on him, shredding all attempts at plotting with one misplaced footstep. s**t.

Later, he'd claimed he'd meant for this to happen. He'd say he wanted to distract, but the simple fact of the matter was that sheer luck guided his hands and Chaonis's face together.

Duct tape stuck well against the young man's cheek, and it stuck even better in his hair. As the pair of them tumbled down, it was going to get rather tangled up against him, the end cutting across the corner of his mouth, tugging and pulling uncomfortably.

Ilmenite was under him now, but he'd blink at the senshi once, figure out what happened, and would start his scrambling back. Hopefully Chaonis's hands would be too occupied fighting to get duct tape off his face to chase down two Negaverse lieutenants...

The roof, despite Chaonis' prompting, remained solid stubbornly. It creaked and groaned suspiciously, and the cracks were large enough to splinter and chip off parts of what passed as the floor under their feet, but it didn't cave in completely.

That didn't mean it didn't want to, of course. And any particularly keen prodding might cause it to give up on life completely.

Theirs included.

Chaonis wasn't scared of a fall, though. He had been trapped in a building he had accidentally brought down on himself once before, and he would be damned if he let it happen again.

"Argh!" Chaonis protested when he felt the duct tape clinging to his head. That was going to hurt like a b***h to pull off, and he knew it immediately. He stumbled as the two men extricated themselves from the other, Chaonis trying to pull at the tape on his face and at his ankle almost at the same time, the importance of getting both off at war. One was impeding his ability to walk. The other was embarrassing.

Both were infuriating.

He fell backwards while the two Negas fled, cursing and finding creative, colorful, and impolite ways to let them know his feelings on the matter.
