Greed
The Devil's Advocate • Rank: Adept • bloodline: Diobolus • Class: Berserker • currently equipped: Bottom right picture • feeling:
Feared Exalted Evil? Greed chuckled, his wet lips pressing against her the pallor of her collarbone gently before he pulled his face away, his lips seperating themselves from her collarbone. The jet haired demon's deep red eyes would at her angelic facial features before he spoke, A fiery light accentuating the crimson of his irises as he spoke. He hadn't really thought about it until the moment Alex mentioned it, but the diabolus did realize that it was rather cold outside. Maybe it was simply the fact that he was just used to it. After all, In a city of eternal night, it never really got that warm outside. After living there for so long, you tend to just ignore the temperature to the best of your abilities. "Well... wanna go back to the carnival? it's warm there. Or if you're tired, we can go sleep at the barracks." He said with a shrug, just throwing ideas out in the open. Either one was fine with him, unless she had something else in mind. Theme song • Strength: 12 • Speed: 7 (tail has a speed of 9) • Energy: 1000 "If you don't give me what I want, this might be rather... messy."

One minute, sixty seconds; and she already knew the choice. "We've already been there, I doubt they have anything new and I wouldn't mind laying down since I have traveling tomorrow." Alex shifted like she was going to get down but found his hold still firm, her eyes narrowing slightly but the smile would say otherwise. "If you are gonna do that lightning thing, don't drop me." Then she moved back in, burying her face away from the world. With eyes shut tight, she held on to Greed as if she were drowning and he was the only to keep her afloat.

Half of Nocturne must've just been one giant block of ice. Actually, if he recalled correctly, it was more than half. And he could certainly understand that now. When he looked onto the horizon, he saw nothing but a frozen wasteland, an endless sea of bitter cold. He could feel himself start to shiver, especially as Mer often preferred to wear more simple and revealed clothing. Hadrian, as often forgetful as he was, did not take some burly coat out so that he could survive the chilling winds. Instead, he wore what he usually did, and would just have to bet on his dragon to blow some fumes or something. Maybe that wasn't a good idea. "I can't get wet," He told himself. "Or my body will freeze. I have no idea how I'm going to get back to Luimira like this, considering I have to dive into the water to collect the horses." He frowned. Honestly, he would've felt awfully stupid for not bringing a coat, but he wouldn't be able to wear it on the way back anyhow; it would be completely drenched. Maybe the teacher had some misconception that Mer were resistant to cold?
Cold water was alright, but not all of this . . . ice. "Lancer," He whispered to his dragon, who was shivering in his arms. At least they could transfer some heat to each other. "It'll be alright. I'm pretty sure the trench isn't too far off." At that point, he caught wind of something. Some man was coming down, riding a machine. It looked like a mechanical snow sled, and it ran through the slippery ground with little to no problem. Hadrian was slipping, falling and practically breaking his back here. He didn't think he'd even be able to make it. So, suddenly, he felt a quick impulse come over him; that sled was his only chance of surviving. He whipped out a large quantity of water, which he was able to manipulate, and halted the sled from moving. Hadrian balanced his feet at that point, and walked towards it, but what he was met with was a gun, being pulled and aimed at his face. He retracted his water to defend himself, and entered a more ready stance.
He didn't want to fight whoever this man was. He just wanted a lift. "Are you trying to steal my machine?" The guy asked him. His voice made him sound kinda young, actually, as if they were the same age. Hadrian could see that past the goggles, he had strange red eyes. His skin tone looked pale, too. Must've been a vampire. "No, I don't want to steal it," The Mer answered. "I want to ask you for help. I've been walking on snow and ice for over an hour, and I'm at my limit. I'm a member of Nocturne's military, and there's a mission I'm supposed to be performing. I'd like to ask of you to give me a ride." He tried to seem humble, although he quickly felt the cold and the growing chances of his own death change his persona. He was ready to flip his trigger finger, sending a chunk of cold water at this guy to get him off. Vampires couldn't die from the cold. So it was better him on the floor than Hadrian.
"Sure, I'll give you a ride . . ." He said, his eyes completely empty. The Mer, thankful and enthusiastic, quickly began to walk to the sled. At that point, though, the vampire grabbed his arm and spoke to him. "If you let me feed from you. You have . . . an exotic smell. I've never smelled something like it before. It's like . . . the sea." He continued to sniff, and he seemed to be enjoying himself. The Mer was pretty used to this process by now, vampires swooning over his rare breed. He'd never actually let them have a bite before, though. He'd always heard that if they got even one bite, they'd continue and drain you until you were dead. Most vampires had no idea how to control their thirst. Unfortunately, the Mer had no choice here but to accept. "Sure. But I'll know if you're drinking too much. It's understandable that you'd probably feel no need to regulate yourself, considering we're in the center of a frozen wasteland. If I died, no one would ever find me. But I have no intention to let myself die." Hadrian could really feel it; his power here was more than regular. He felt he could take on this man, whoever the hell he was.
The vampire nodded, and let him onto the sled. Hadrian got on, not wanting to lean into the vampire, but doing so anyway as to not allow himself to freeze. The man's thick coat was warm enough, and his dragon could've used some of that warmth too. "So why are you out here in the cold like this? Do people actually live here?" He didn't know if trying to be chatty was the right choice, but whatever. The guy had the choice of either answering, or saying nothing. Hadrian didn't really give a damn. "I'm in the military, like you. They commissioned me to check the status of some of the ice-born monster races; like whether their population is growing too much, whether they seem to be organizing, stuff like that. The answer for both is apparently no, though there were some strange things I noticed this time." He stopped there, as if he didn't want to say anything. Of course, Hadrian would try and persist. He was curious.
"Like what?" He asked. The vampire bit his lower lip, and then proceeded to speak. "Some of the ice Golems seemed to know how to use the water element. Some monsters will kind of leave you alone if you don't get too close, but the Golems have always been more aggressive. So, I expected for them to chase after me, but instead they used projectiles from afar. It's not listed in the codex that they're able to do that." That was a real curiosity for the vampire; if the Ice Golems were in fact slowly learning magic, wouldn't that make them a particularly intelligent, and dangerous type of monster? Nocturne might make an effort to wipe them out, if that's the case. "Well, that's simple isn't it?" The Mer rolled his eyes. "We've got a seashell bond going on here. Usually, monsters like that can't learn something so advanced. They have to be taught. Must be that one of them is bonded to a Mer, and that one taught the others how to use water magic. If you can find and kill the bonded one, then there's a good chance you can stop them from getting any more advanced."
The black-haired undead seemed impressed with that theory, though he wasn't inclined to believe it off the bat. "Is that what you are, sea-smelling man? A Mer?" His voice was stoic as ever, though Hadrian could feel he was interested. And he was right, of course. "Maybe I am," He said, and that remained to be the last thing either of them said until they arrived at the destination. Hadrian prepared his fish net, and loomed over the deep pit. This was going to be... interesting. "Don't take too long. I've got a deadline."
The Mer didn't expect to take long. He leaped into the pit, with a mass of water rising up to catch him. Bending the water to his will, he quickly rounded up the aquatic horses, as he pulled them all inwards into his net. Mer were obviously skilled fisherman, and the only real problem for him was finding the things. He pulled the fairly small conch from his necklace, and pressed it against his ear. The movements of the water indicated that there was a large amount of these aquatic creatures westward, and so he went that way. It wasn't too far, anyway, maybe a few dozen meters. Considering he was stronger and faster underwater, he made his way there quickly, and gathered them up into his net. He made sure not to go beyond twelve, as if to not botch the population of these rare creatures. Then, when that was done, he swam back to the bottom of the "well", and created a footing of thick water beneath his feet. He applied energy into his legs, and leaped up high, then flinging a tight rope of water to a nearby tree to give him some leverage. Slowly, he managed to climb out of the hole, shivering as he crawled on the floor. "Did that take too long?" He asked, a small smile over his lips.
It was only about a minute and a half, which made his feat of twelve su-horses pretty impressive. "Well, no surprise if you're a Mer," The vampire rolled his eyes. He helped Hadrian stand up, then slowly brought him over to the sled. When they finally got to the machine, he looked at the brown-haired man in the eyes, then dug his teeth deep into his neck. Hadrian had a feeling that was coming, and he didn't bother to resist. That was the vampire's payment. It didn't really hurt. If anything, it was invigorating, making him feel completely relaxed for the span of time he went through it. Now he understood why most people who'd been drained to death didn't seem to put up any resistance. He, of course, was not most people. When he felt the vampire had taken too much, he pulled him off. "That's enough, dude," He said. He felt sort of dizzy now, but not too much. He'd just need a rest after he got back to the academy.
"Your blood tastes nice," The vampire commented. "Most supernaturals have nice blood, but yours is especially rare and interesting. All that really means, though, is that you're not going to last long. One of the vampires in the city is going to catch a whiff, and make you his b***h. Then you're just gonna die. But, whatever. Not my problem really." He seated himself back on the sled, and the Mer followed him. The dragon had been sitting somewhat comfortably in the seat, though after some time he started to whine. "Are you a dragoon?" He asked the Mer. "Yeah, or I will be once this little guy grows up." Hadrian smiled slightly, as he often did when speaking of his young dragon. "I'll look forward to that," He said.
And the rest of the ride, was spent in total silence, all the way back to Luimira.

A mist slowly begins to lace the area, everything starting to disappear under its thickness. An hour would pass before it would finally fade away to reveal a ivory spire erected from middle of the lake.

Kumori The Shadow Magistrate ╔══════════════╗ Kumori arrived at the Frozen lake before he approached the center of the place, there a small fishing hole awaited him. He took off all of his equipment and set them on the frozen surface, leaving with him his Rapier. He soon dove into the waters, since he could breathe in the depths of the lake. As he entered the lake, he could've sworn he noticed the movements of a sleek sea serpent moving around. He soon notice it close in with it's mouth gaping big and ready to try and eat him before he moved out of the way for it to miss. He watched it swim around and come swimming back towards him as he moved out of the way and stabbed it in the eye quickly with the rapier. The speed of the swim caused it to lose its eye as it hung out with the beast screeching in pain. The beast turned and came swimming at Kumori fairly quick, that was until Kumori snapped his fingers as a shadow scythe appeared in it's head and pierced it's fishy brain. He swam upward back to the hole and got out of it before he froze to death as he in terms, DID catch a swimming death fish and killed it. He had his shadows bring it out quickly onto the surface to make sure it was proof of his presence there before he departed for his leave. Kumori The Shadow Magistrate ╔══════════════╗ It's been a while since Kumori was last here, having killed a sea monster while in the freezing waters as he looked around. He unsheathed his Rapier out and kept a shield with him, looking around while Miza rested on his back. He kept his defenses up as he made a tapping sound on the sheet of ice, looking around still. His shield, slowly beating with a heartbeat as Kumori's V sensory kept him ready for anything. [Blood Vanguard]2350/24006/8 As Kumori approached the lake he would notice the eerie silence enveloping the area. There were no creatures making noises and even the wind made hardly a sound. It would not take him long to notice the rune that had summoned the Blood Vanguard. There was a trail of blood leading off behind a hill to the right and nothing else. For a moment nothing would happen, but then a gurgling noise would reverberate out over the lake. A pool of blood could be seen not far from the rune, bubbling and undulating as if it were boiling. In an outward burst of blood sure to shower Kumori in the gushing liquid, the vanguard appeared. It stood nearly as tall as him, hunched and with a wicked scythe in its hand. Its body slowly formed and it immediately took notice of Kumori. The creature dashed forth, utilizing its speed to close the distance between the two of them with ease. It reeled its arms back and twirled the upper half of its body, being able to do so thanks to the consistency of the blood it was made from. Once the vanguard was within range it channeled energy to its scythe and slashed outward, aiming to cleave Kumori right in half. It would seek to bypass his shield and dig the blade right into the man.
Evil Moon C You swing out the scythe in a wide arc as quick as possible. This is to stab the scythe through one side of the enemy, going around the shield. Once it enters their body swing them brutally to the left or right, you either slice them clean in half or they get a huge gaping hole in their body as they get tossed to the left or right.

Kumori The Shadow Magistrate ╔══════════════╗ Kumori watched the being closed the distance, grinning slightly as he appeared to do nothing. The moment the attack seemed to have connected, Kumori had not only gone incorporeal, but he had his Blessings of his dimension. With it, he moved with ease through the weapon, backing up a bit before trying to hit the fool with a simple stab at it's neck. It was apparent he was trying for the Skull Slasher technique as he would spin and go for the downward slash afterwards. [Blood Vanguard]2225/24006/8 Kumori would find himself facing an opponent with a very similar technique to himself. The moment his blade would have made contact, the neck of the vanguard burst outward, showering Kumori with more blood. The head of the creature dissipated into free flowing blood. At the same time that the head deformed the Vanguard launched out spikes from all over its body, extending them far enough to stab into Kumori if he didn't manage to get away. Its hands gripped its scythe as it began to twirl rapidly, energy charging to the tip of its scythe. As it spun it would advance on Kumori, aiming to maim and slash him multiple times.
- Dissipate D- Spikes DDevil's Wheel B The ground version of Lotus Flower, the user will channel their energy at the blade of the scythe. The energy cuts through even one foot from the blade, the energy so sharp and powerful. The user will then proceed to spin several times, stretching out the scythe to get maximum range for this attack. The user will be able to move their arms up and down, being able to counter attacks from below or above by doing so. [I am aware of that, but I figured since you're a shade I'd have to charge my attacks anyway. Besides, this thing has so much energy this fight would go on forever if I didn't do something like this.]

Kumori The Shadow Magistrate ╔══════════════╗ Kumori saw the head explode as the blood splatter went through him, but the moment the spikes appeared at the same time, Kumori was quick to move back even more. Since the rapier was light, and his shield was heavy, he forced the shield back to carry him away and safely dodge the spikes that would've impaled him without effort. He saw the scythe glow it's devilish energy as Kumori had to do something. That something, came from his own devilish techniques as he aimed to cancel the oncoming Devil's wheel with a trick of his own. "Back off!" He shouted as he thrusted the rapier up, a large shadow spike drill coming out of the ground to get at the monster from underneath and force it to get away. As he had his rapier up, he was also prepped to guard the monster's scythe incase it threw it, using the Earth Elemental of Aegis. [Blood Vanguard]2100/24006/8 The moment the spike hit the Vanguard it burst completely, blood spattering all over the place. The blood pushed outward and forward, moving around the spike. Once all the blood was clear the BV reformed and immediately swung out, this time lowering its scythe and shoving it past Kumori's legs. It pulled back with all of its strength, looking to get Kumori in the or at least trip him up. If he jumped, the Vanguard would jump as well and begin to spin its body, coating its blade in energy and whipping it around to slash Kumori in two. The energy would extend a foot from the blade. If Kumori did not jump, the Vanguard would press the attack and shoot the spikes from its body once more.
Lotus Flower Rank: B Requires Energy Description: The Lotus Flower is a powerful skill that is used against opponents who are airborne. Using your energy and channeling at the feet, the user is able to push themselves upwards at higher heights, reaching the opponent at high speeds. Upon coming closer, the user will spin their body in the air. By this point, the user will have coated their blade with energy, and as they spin, the scythe comes around them filled with energy. The energy cuts through one foot in front of blade, an attack that is difficult to counter considering that is an airborne attack. [Think you could provide the spell descriptions? Kumori The Shadow Magistrate ╔══════════════╗ A simple trip up would be the main reason as to why Kumori would have fallen onto his back. As he was on his back, he saw the beast beginning to summon his spikes as Kumori sunk into the ground quickly before it would appear to cover him. He decided to use the quick and easy way about with forming rock armor as he took the spikes that didn't do jack s**t to his armor. The beast was much stronger than it looked, and it kept coming back from it's constant dismemberment. That was until Kumori remembered what he saw when the beast was completely 'destroyed' and reformed. He saw a clear heart, bare of blood but spraying it out. Kumori kipped back up to his feet and aimed for a quick and deadly technique. Hoping it would absorb his technique, he aimed for a quick heavy kick towards the gut of the beast. If it absorbed it to trap Kumori's armored leg, he would thrust his rapier into the beast, right at the heart's place. (Techniques: Rock Armor((C)Earth users can bring rocks, around them and mold them to fit their body and create something similar to armor. [Blood Vanguard]2000/24006/8 The scythe blade had been used to trip Kumori, and surely that had drawn blood. The vanguard grew larger at the sight of it and pressed the attack. It stood still for a moment staring at the ground when the vampire sunk in it. When he attacked the kick would connect with the vanguard, but that would do very little. Its body was soft and Kumori was able to kick right through it, though its body merely reformed. When he thrust his rapier towards its heart the beast reached out with a hand and grasped his wrist, stopping the blade from penetrating him. Even if Kumori knew his weakness, that did not mean it would be so simple. With its free hand it shoved the blunt tip of its scythe forward, looking to release a concussive blast of energy if it connected.

Kumori The Shadow Magistrate ╔══════════════╗ Kumori managed to get a real physical touch as to the being's substance when his kick went through the beast. But when it had stopped Kumori's piercing technique, it was having a hard time holding back Kumori's Rapier blade. "Stubborn fool." He told the beast before noticing the scythe's tip, with his current placement and the being's own, Kumori's mind had it's own tear of a brain storm. That was until Kumori remembered a technique that he has yet to pull off. He was quick to create the technique from behind the Blood Vanguard, right from the edge of the frozen lake as he used his earthened shield to take the A rank blast. As it sent him flying back 15 feet, the spearing earth was coming at the Vanguard from behind to blast through it's body, and heart.
