"To be honest... I cant remember how it started..." He shook his head trying to remember what happened. "I cant really recall... i know is that were covered in mud and your hurt..." He sighed as he felt her muzzle go into his neck. He blushed lightly. "And... im sorry about that... I was a bit of jerk. I had a bad day and I shouldn't have taken it out on you... im sorry." He closed his eyes. "And you may call me Gabe if you wish..."

Lauren smiled softly as she nuzzled against his neck a little more. He felt incredible against her muzzle, and his smell was intoxicating. Why hadn't she noticed that before? Not that she was trying to smell him now, it was just sorta happening. "It's alright....you helping me makes up for everything....I'm sorry I flung mud at you...twice..." She giggled, "I have a little bit of a temper problem."

Gabe chuckled at her temper comment. "Yes you do... but then again so do I..." He smiled. "So I think that makes us even." He then stopped as the sound of running water hit his ears. "Hm?" He looked in the direction it was coming form. "I know I was suppose to take you home but... what do you say to a quick wash." He glanced back at her. "I don't know about you but dry mud makes me itch..."

She giggled as she nodded her head, "as long as you carry me the rest of the way home I think I can stand being on my ankle long enough to bathe. I do feel grimey right now...and it is not a good feeling at all." She shook her head as she smiled at him, "I would appreciate if you carried me into the water Gabe." Lauren licked his cheek gently.

"Sounds good." He nodded. "I'm not so weak as to collapse from carrying you a little ways." He smiled as he turned and headed toward the water. "And I agree... feeling grimy is not a good feeling at all." He did a bit of a shutter. "Especially mud... it makes me itch." He then blushed when she licked him. "OF course... Im not just going to leave you to try and get to the water on your own."

"Feeling grimy is not a good thing." Lauren shook her head, "And I wasn't trying to imply that you were weak or anything." She blushed. "I was just....um.... Never mind." She quickly shook her head. Looking up she noticed that they were approaching the stream he suggested they clean off in. It seemed shallow enough that even if she feel from the pain in her paw she wouldn't drown, so she was content with it.

"Eh...." Gabriel went to shrug his shoulder but thought better of it, he didn't want to end up knocking her off his shoulder. Instead he bobbled his head. "I didn't think that you were trying to insult me. If you wanted to I think you would be more direct..." He smirked slightly, "You are a very...direct person." He walked to the edge of the stream, then slowly he started to walk into it. Reaching back he bit into her neck gently, and then lifted her off his back, and deposited her into the cool water.

Lauren looked at him surprised, "You think that I am a direct person?" She blinked. Though, looking back on her actions, Lauren had to admit that she was acting rather odd these past few hours, but she blamed that entirely on the male in whose company she was in. "Well....maybe I am only direct around you?" She smiled at him.
"There's something about you that makes me that way."

Gabriel looked at her slightly annoyed, "You're saying that it's my fault that you're acting like this." Honestly this vixen had a lot of nerve. How the heck was it his fault that she acted like this. After all the help he had extended to her, this was how she acted. It kinda pissed him off. But then again, she did have her cute moments. Sighing heavily he dipped himself in the water before he said something he would regret.

"Mm...." Lauren watched him dunk himself in the water, "That wasn't....what i meant...." She pouted her lower lip and waited for him to come up, "Do you always have to twist what I say to make me out to be the bad guy?" She looked at the male as she tried to support herself on her paw. it hurt, but thanks to the cold water it also numbed her paw to some degree so that it was tolerable.
"I just meant....oh never mind..." Lauren rolled her eyes and looked away.

"No...finish what you were going to say. I'm curious now." Gabriel looked at her intrigued. Something about ruffling her feathers made him happy, maybe it was because she was so beautiful when she was angry."Mm...." His own thoughts annoyed him. Was he seriously attracted to this female? He immediately wanted to say no, but he couldn't bring himself to it.

"What I was going to say was that maybe if you weren't so prickly then I wouldn't be so...'direct' as you call it." Lauren paused and looked at him, "Damn what?" She looked behind her baffled, "What are you looking at? Is there something behind me? What is it? Kill it! Kill it!" The vixen flipped out slightly, hopping over to him so she didn't injure her paw more.

"What? Nothing...What....are you...doing?" Gabriel's eyes widened as he watched her hobble her way over to him, hiding behind him. "Seriously?" He bit his lip, trying to hold it in but he couldn't. He burst out laughing, letting his head sink slightly, "Did you seriously just HOP over here?" He looked back at her, "You know if there had been a predator that would have just made you a bigger target right? They love going after injured foxes. Easier to catch."

"You said damn?" Lauren looked at him like it was a dumb question, "So I assumed that there was something scary behind me." She slowly comically glared at him, "Stop laughing at me. It wasn't that funny!" She nudged him roughly, making him tumble into the water. "Ugh...men." She rolled her eyes as she limped to the shore and laid down.
"You are so mean Gabriel." She placed her head on her uninjured paw.

He fell into the water, then reemerged slowly. A slow, sadistic smirk spread across his face as he eyed the unsuspecting vixen on the shore. She thought she had won this battle, and that it was safe for her to put her guard down. Oh how wrong she was, and Gabriel was just the fox to prove it to her. Leaving the water silently, he crouched down on the ground as raked his nails into the sand. Then with a spring, the male launched himself at her and landed directly on top of her, pinning her to the ground so that her belly was facing him.
"Never turn your back on your enemy."
