~~ Their mother stood. "Justin, you have to do your homework. Just because you're in college doesn't mean you can slack off, understand?" She put her hands on her hips. "And Maria, you need to come inside too."
Maria got to her feet. "Yes mama." She walked into the house. ~~

Justin nodded, getting up to his feet and walking inside. Artemisa went back into the tree, since it was her home.

~~ Maria had nothing to do, so she followed Justin once he got inside. Nappy, meanwhile, curled up on a windowsill and slept. ~~

Justin turned to face Maria. "I'll be in my room, if you need me." He told her, walking into the closest room. He'd like nothing more than to spend time with his sister, but he needed to finish his homework.

~~ Maria sighed. She went to her room, sitting on her bed with a sketchpad and pencil, and began drawing. She hummed to herself as she did so, smiling slightly. ~~

Justin sat on his bed, which was covered in papers and notes. He only had to finish a bit more, though, so this would be fast. He then began writing on one of the worksheets.

~~ Maria finished her drawing a bit later. It was a very good anime image of Justin. "March...twenty-fifth...two-thousand...eleven....Maria...Denise...Kaiysa." She murmured, smiling slightly as she wrote her name and the date in the bottom corner. She hoped Justin liked it. ~~

Meanwhile, Justin had finished his homework. He then walked out of his room, sitting down on the couch in the living room.

Justin looked at the drawing of himself. Maria was certainly an amazing artist. "Thank you, Maria. I love it." He told her, with a smile. She was so sweet, drawing this for him. She was like an innocent child in a teenage body. Maybe that was why he loved her.

Justin smiled. He was thankful to have a sister like Maria. She truly cared for him. However, it wasn't the way he wanted, and he figured that it would never be like that.
