This time Alexander did relax a bit when it didn't seem that Frost was in pain with the yogurt. He turned and started to eat the sandwich he had picked out. Mmmm, turkey and provolone. As he ate his eyes started to drift close as his exhaustion was starting to catch up with him again. He snapped his eyes open again when Frost started to talk and he looked over at him. "Well if they think you need to stay over night I can stay with you to stop them from overly touching." If that was the case then he could easily get someone to give Frost painkillers. On the other hand though that means he wouldn't get much sleep staying up. He looked back down at his food then almost slapped his forehead. He had forgotten to give Conrad and Skiron their snack. He quickly put the bowls down by them, being careful not to bump into the other man with his moving.

Conrad chirruped in thanks when his partner remembered. While the stuff was only sub-par, it would do for now. He started to munch away but kept his self aware of Xander and Frost.

"I was a coordinator, actually. I kind of fell out of the circuit a few years back and took up breeding as a hobby though. Both of my parents were breeders too, so it was just a natural transition to make," Demyx explained lightly, smiling at the enthusiastic Litwick. He paused then to take another sip of his soda, before addressing Saleen's comment. "You'd be surprised at how long pokémon can live if they're properly cared for. I've heard of ones that can manage to live as long as their trainers before, although that's normally pretty rare."

The litwick smelled like fire and felt a little waxy. He obliged the pokemon with a little hug back. It felt nice, maybe he'd have to let Sebastian out later and give him a good brushing. Unpacking could be put off till tomarrow. He let the little pokemon go, but didn't push it away.

"Ahh, that makes sence. And doesn't it depend on the pokemon? I mean a rodent or bug type would have naturally shorter life spans then grass. My mother has a vitorybell older then I am. Course she just spoils it all day and it nearly ate me more then once, but that's besides the point." he chuckled at the memory.

Oh neat! My parent’s didn’t keep many pokemon so I guess I never experienced a pokemon that lived that long before.” said Saleen. Ciara happily cuddled for a moment longer, then pulled away and instantly rushed at Demyx. But oh no, she didn’t hug his chest like with Panther. No, she wanted to hug something else. His hair. She lay her body on his head, rubbing her face in his spikey hair.Liiiiiiit!she said gleefully. “Ah! Ciara no! Don’t do that!” said Saleen as she got up to remove her clingy pokemon. She didn’t want her to light his hair on fire!

Though she was greatly fascinated in this giant super ball, when someone had spoken about a robot of some kind, Faleen's ears instantly pricked, and her eyes locked onto the Grunt who had said it.
She had met him only once before, calling his name to be Frost.
from the way he was standing and moving around with something of pain etched into his features, she was willing to bet he had been on the mission as well.
"Galactic had another one of their machines with them?" she spoke up quickly to get his attention.
reaching to the small pile she had, she slid the book back, and pulled a sheet of paper, reaching back to the small pouch on her belt, she pulled out a short pencil.
"If you don't mind, What can you tel me about it?"

Upon arriving back at base, Mau headed to the infirmary. It wasn't because he was particularly injured, no, quite to the contrary, he was fine. But some of his pokemon had brought others who had been injured here. That was why he came. Ran was not hard to find. She was easily recalled to her pokeball. Nuu... was making a pest of herself. She was chattering to some poor medical trainee, who didn't seem to know what to do about the blue balloon as it wavered it's hands in his face. When she was recalled suddenly, the trainee scampered off without so much as a thanks.

Mau lingered here for a bit, catching snippets on how the others fared. The man with the punctured lung, the girl with the broken arm, and Hayes were who he had a particular curiosity for. He noted others from the mission come and go as they were discharged. And when Mau caught wind that the others would likely be alright, he took his leave.

Pokemon healed, a quick shower and change of clothing left Mau feeling in need of some tea. Something to relax him and clear his mind before he slept. Or, more likely, dealt with a very upset Allen that he had gone for lunch and not come back. Mau smirked at the idea of how irritated he would be.

Entering the cafeteria, Mau glanced about quickly as he made his way towards where hot water was kept. After filling a cup and dropping a packet of tea in, he meandered back, thinking about leaving, but, perhaps socializing would be fine too. He gave a wave to Faleen and Nikki, passing them. They were absorbed in conversation about the galactic pokeball. He wasn't too interested in that.

Instead he approached a table with but three rockets. Saleen, Panther, and Demyx. It was Saleen's comment about her surprise to meet someone with an older pokemon that drew him in.

"Mind if I join you?" he asked with a smirk, not actually waiting for confirmation before slowly slipping into the seat beside Panther. Not wearing a lab coat, or his agent uniform, Mau looked like a misplaced civilian. He shifted the bag of tea in his cup idly before addressing them again.

"Do you really think pokemon live such short lives?" He hid a faint smirk behind his tea. Still too weak, it needed to steep a little longer. "My apologies, I didn't mean to intrude, but I was drawn by your conversation." he watched as Saleen tried to retrieve her pokemon from Demyx's hair.

Oh... Well that was a nice offer. He wasn't sure that he wanted to take it up though; he had asked enough today already. He knew that his roommate liked him (although he didn't understand why), and he also knew that the young man probably offered perfectly willing to go through with it but... No. Xander had had a trying enough day as it was. "Thank you for the offer," Frost said eventually in his usual cool tones, "but I think I shall decline. If they require me to stay, I shall survive whatever unasked for displays of compassion they," a breath, "they feel it necessary to pile upon me..."

Ah, a blonde young woman wanted to know about the technology they had seen today. He wanted to tell her, but it took him a few moments to marshal his thoughts. "The Ariados," he said eventually, turning to fix her with an intense pale gaze, "extremely impressive. A line of trees from the edge of the forest to where we eventually found them - which was," he paused to breathe for a few moments again, "was some distance - was completely levelled. Mmh. Besides that brute strength, it had... thrusters I suppose? Not powerful enough to make such a huge thing fly. Must have been intended for jumping. From what we saw, however, structural integrity needed work. Legs were not all that well attached to the abdomen." At this point Frost glanced at Xander, hoping the grey-eyed grunt would explain the circumstances behind the legs parting company from the rest of the mecha... Well, he had better ask he supposed. "Had I not just been slammed into it and had my ribs broken, I might have found it comedic," he nodded slightly, "perhaps you could tell her, Xander."

"It's almost a shame to hear that, Saleen. I grew up surrounded by pokémon, and I can't imagine my childhood being any different. Hell, it's weird to even think about it," Demyx replied, leaning back in his chair and briefly glancing upward. A childhood without pokémon was a completely foreign concept to him, and the very thought of it was borderline unpleasant. What would he have done if he hadn't received Medy when he was eight?

The sudden weight of Ciara settling onto his head snapped him out of his thoughts, and he laughed softly and reached up to gently pat the Litwick. When Saleen got up to retrieve the young pokémon, he leaned back slightly and waved his hand at her.

"No, it's alright! As long as she's careful, she's welcome to stay up here."

He grinned then, eyes flicking towards Mau as the other joined them. Who could have guessed that their table would wind up being so popular?

"Nah, it's alright dude. The more the merrier and all that. I'm Demyx!"

"Hey Mau." Panther picked up his coffee, enjoying a sip while watching the litwick's antics. The little guy was definitely clingy. Demyx seemed to be relaxed with the pokemon as well. It seemed fire types only burned when they wanted.

"What would you say is the average life span of a pokemon?"
PostPosted: Mon Mar 21, 2011 4:27 pm

Well my mom was scared of pokemon after the last one I remember, a houndour, bit her. So she freaked and didn’t want a pokemon again.” said Saleen with a shrug. “It must be nice growing up with pokemon though.” she said with a grin. Ciara was happily rubbing her face in her hair, oblivious to the fact she was almost dragged off. “If you are sure..” said Saleen as she sat back down and let Ciara cuddle demyx’s hair.

It was then that a fourth person joined their little ‘party’, Saleen knew who he was. She had seen him in the labs in the past, but never really talked to him before the mission. And even then, the only discussion they had was getting Repo on his pidgeot and out of there. That was as far as it got. “Oh well, it’s not so much that I think they live short lives, but if you figure a creature that in some cases spends it’s life fighting, not to mention illnesses they can catch, it isn’t that hard to think they may not live terribly long in some cases.” she said before nodding. “It’s alright.” said Saleen smiling when he apologized for intruding. It’s not like no one was allowed, Saleen had only just joined in herself. In fact if anyone was likely to be put out it would probably be Panther. Considering Demyx invited himself, then invited Saleen, and now Mau was joining in. What an interesting group!

"Panther." Mau nodded. He hadn't really spoken much to the man since the two of them met and visited Cal after the fiasco in the ballroom. "I'm Mau." He introduced himself to the other two. "I'm not sure any of us can ever predict the average lifespan of even one species of pokemon. While it's true that they can get sick, or battle to the end, they also have amazing abilities and are quite resilient." He watched the candle pokemon snuggle into Demyx's hair a moment. "My own vaporeon has been with me more than 30 years." He offered. "Though you'd never know it by the way he acts. You'd think he was 2." The thought of his vaporeon and how often he'd roll around on the ground and accost people for affection gave the tanned scientist pause and he just grinned.

"If you say so Frost." Alexander said. If the other would be fine then he wouldn't argue. He took a sip of his drink and thought of what he would mention to the medics if they do intend to keep his roommate over night. Well at least Skiron will try and stay with him.

He looked over at Faleen and Frost as they talked. The mission was a rather amusing one even though there were injuries. "The mechanical Ariados was caught when a few pokemon dug a hole underneath only for another to fill the hole in with ice." Xander said with a grin, easily up to explaining what Frost asked of him. "When Deimos tried to use the thrusters to escape the top was torn from the legs because of the ice. The top landed in a tree not too far away."

As the two talked she was running her pencil over the paper, mostly scribbles to other people but she would be able to understand her own notes and organize them better at a later time.
"I see..." a small frown worked on her lips as she looked back up at them Galactic seemed to like pokemon themed robots.
"And you said this is still laying out there?" she continued, her eyebrows arching,

The man with the lighter hair, the older one didn't look like he was very comfortable right now, and probably wasn't going to be able to give to much more if he was distracted by pain.
"Your Alexander if I remember correctly" She only knew him from a mission they had been on together...
The other, she met him once, and was able to at least recall his name. "And Frost?"
PostPosted: Tue Mar 22, 2011 4:19 am

"Mmh, that's... Yes that's correct," Frost nodded, regarding Faleen with an increasingly glassy expression. "I think though that the position of the... you know the crash site... or wreck site? The place where the Araidos and the sonic guns are... Umm... Oh, yes, it was marked. I presume the Executive who was in charge has dispatched a recovery team." Ugh. Perhaps coming here really had been a mistake. Mmh. Any adrenaline that had been left in his system would be wearing off by now. Heading back to the infirmary before too much more time passed was probably a bright notion. Still, it would be rude to wander off right in the middle of a conversation.

Shaking his head in an attempt to clear it, Frost set his half finished yogurt back on the table; he hated to let things go to waste, but he was beginning to feel vaguely ill. Perhaps he should have been less conservative with his estimate on that 'pain scale' thing and just stayed lying down. Well, anyway, round off the conversation with the blonde woman and then get Xander to steer him back in the vague direction of the infirmary... Maybe he'd ask his roommate to stay after all. He despised this feeling of helplessness.

Looking up from his food, Skiron noted his trainer's steadily blanching complexion and gave a concerned 'vrrrr'. It looked like he would be spending the night in the infirmary after all; he didn't like the way the place smelled all that much, but if it was where his trainer was going to be, then it was where he was going to be too.

She nodded softly listening to Frost, her lips set thinning softly. She certainly hoped they would be able to retrieve the machine, that would be something she wouldn't mind looking over.

She had more questions, and she wanted to know more about it, having just heard the news about this. but Faleen wasn't at all missing the look on the Grunt's eyes, and his increasingly disheveling demeanor, Just as quickly as she brought the robot up, she slipped her page back freed her hands.
"In that case this can wait."
After all, she did have this giant ball from Galactic.

Glancing over to Alexander, "Were there many more injured?" she inquired.
There usually were during missions like this, especially with Galactic.
