"Uh...sure." Xinder said, wondering at the odd phrasing. "Well, it's this way." She said, slipping out of the cave through the bush. She moved out of the way in order to let Horus out as well.

“Well when hunting prey you have to be alert right? So I’ll be awake by the time we get there” horus tried to explain better. None the less he followed behind her nodding in thanks when she moved.

"I suppose." Xinder replied. She was used to always being on the alert. Not being alert until one was about to pounce the prey was fairly foreign to her. Another example of the male's laid-back nature. It was a luxury that Xinder could ill afford.
Still, she trotted off towards the small, grassy oasis that the antelope liked to graze in. It offered plenty of food, but not too much cover, for predator or prey.

Even though Horus had said that the truth was he wasn’t exactly a morning fox, which was weird since he often got up really earlier in the morning to get things done. So it took him a while to become alert, well not like hours but a few good minutes. He followed her to the antelope grazing spot and wondered how to best do this. Horus was rather dark and so sneaking up before pouncing or the chase would take some planning.

Xinder studied the antelope from her vantage point. They were far enough away to not attract attention but close enough to study the prey. "So," Xinder said, looking over at Horus, "what's the plan?" She wasn't used to hunting with anyone else. She hoped Horus was, though, so that he could come up with a plan where they would be able to work together.

“hmmm well there is several ways to do it, we can have one fox go out and try to get as close as possible to an antelope, after startling it try and steer it towards the other one of us in a sort of ambush move. We can also do a pincer like movement and corner it off that way.” Horus mused out loud. “Of course neither one of us is really suited for camouflage I’m afraid.”

"I think the first one would work better. There's really no where to corner an animal here." She looked around, there were barely enough rocks to cover whoever goes to startle the animals. "So...do you want to startle them, or should I?" she asked, looking over at Horus.

Neither one of their colors was really found around here either. Horus chuckled a bit thinking the modeities had a very weird sense of humor… and had probably lost it. “I guess I can go and spoke them if you’re okay with the ambushing.” He offered. Luckily he still occasionally helped out with the hunting in the tribe, it would be bad if he had gotten rusty.

"Alright. Run them towards there. That little hillock will give me extra heighth to jump on the antelope. That way, I'll be able to get on it's back, away from the antlers." Xinder said, unconciously gaining some self confidence. Hunting she was good at, and she knew it. That and she had started being comfortable around Horus. There seemed to be something soothing about him.

Horus nodded showing he understood the directions before he looked out at the prey in front of him. He had to get very close to them before he showed he was going after them as prey and then successfully herd them. Some times the forest he mostly grew up in wasn’t so bad after all. “alright I’ll make sure to do that then. It would be bad if they gored you, after all I’m not exactly a shaman” he admitted

Xinder smiled at him. "That's okay, shamans can be a little spooky sometimes." She said, loping away to where she needed to be. She made it to the hillock and hunkered down, totally still. She would wait patiently until Horus was able to send an antelope her way.

Horus laughed. She was definitely true about that statement, especially with the ones in kemet. Still right now he needed to focus on the task of getting their breakfast. Sneaking up as close to the antelope as possible he leaped out and began herding it over towards where Xinder was. It was times like this that Horus often wished he was a cheetah

Xinder hunkered down and waited. She didn't have to wait long before Horus sprung, driving a nice doe her way. The doe had antlers too, just not as big, which meant this would be a little easier. Waiting for the last moment, Xinder jumped, latching her jaws at the base of the skull. Swinging forward, she kicked the doe's jaw with her back feet, jerking the whole neck around.
The snap was rather audible as the doe went down hard. Grunting in slight pain when she hit the ground with the doe over her, Xinder was happy they were able to bring the antelope down. Wiggling out from under the kill, she looked for Horus an unconcious look for approval.

Horus watched as Xinder took down the antelope with what seemed relative ease and decided that she was a pretty good ally when it came to hunting. Sure it wasn’t the most impressive bit of hunting he had seen out on the desert plains but at the same time for two modifoxes it still was quite something. He quickly lessened the distance between them smiling the whole time. “Guess we did it huh”
He looked over Xinder quickly for injuries since the doe did land on her he deemed if there where any they weren’t that bad and gave her a look of approval. She definitely deserved it. Sure both parts required some bit of skill but in his opinion she had got the slightly harder job and the one with more risk since it could have brought her in contact with those antlers.

"Yeah." She said happily, giving Horus a rare smile. "Thanks a lot, I rarely get antelope because they're so observent. You scareing it was perfect." She waved her tail happily, glow brightening a little due to her mood.
Xinder blinked when she noticed him looking for wounds and as a little flattered he cared enough to look. Then he sent her a look of approval and she blushed, jumping over the carcass to hide it. "Ah...lets dig in, shall we?"
