Sherbert turned to Yuya and hesitantly nudged him to get his attention. "Yuya," she began, "Are you going to be okay with people teasing you and me?" she asked, sincerity easily seen in her eyes; it was also easy to see that she had more to ask, it was hard to read what.

"Hmm?" Yuya murmured.
His eyes sharpened at Sherbert's question, "I promised to stay and protect you, no matter what. I wouldn't mind something so small. Besides why would they tease us? Sherbert? What's wrong?"

Sherbert smiled at him and shook her head a little bit, "The good Lord knows we'll never hear the end of it from Kurai." She commented, but hurriedly continued, "Of course, I really won't mind, I just wanted to ask you. She hates me, being the 'big pencil', so that's an automatic trigger." She smiled and licked his nose gently. "I wanted to ask you another question, but I'm sure I should wait on your terms." She finished, her heart settling and her thoughts calm. She at least knew that it would be safe, now.

((I didn't notice that there was another post o_o;; ))
Yuya's ears flattened a bit when Sherbert mentioned Kurai's name. He gently nuzzled Sherbert to reassure her, "Rain, sleet or shine. We'll be fine. Everything will be okay."
He placed his forehead next to hers, "Even if it's Kurai, we can handle it."
His curiousity was pricked when she mentioned having another question but not asking it. He nudged her, "And the other question...?"

Sherbert smiled, very much encouraged. "Good." She whispered. When he nudged her, wanting to know the question she shook her head with a smile. "Nothing. It's not my question to ask." She responded with a giggle, pawing gently at him.

Yuya's tail flipped around under the blank in anticipation. He pouted when she refused to give in and tell him. Glancing at her, he playfully threatened, "I'll flap around the blanket, making all the warmth go away if you don't tell..."

Sherbert, not really in the mood to be cold, sighed. "Must you?" She whined with a lick of his ear. She pouted, lying her head on her paws. "Meanie." She grunted, "I'm still not going to ask. It's not my question to ask, it's yours." She said gently, wrapping her tail around his.

"Mine?" Yuya tilted his head curiously.
For someone who's great in the charm department, he still wasn't all that great at figuring things out.
He pondered at the statement for a while, forgetting to fulfill his previous threat.
((Because I'm an absolute stick, what is it that she wants him to ask? I have an idea but I'm not sure if that's really it...))

Sherbert giggled and nodded, once more licking him. "But don't get overwhelmed about it - time will have it's way." She encouraged with a smile. She pawed at him, nuzzling and scooching over to him for warmth and comfort. She laid her head close to his and snuggled him.

" 'Time will have its way'..." Yuya repeated over and over softly, mulling over it in his mind.
"Hiding in plain sight." Even though it was an oxymoron, it was the best phrase to describe the moment. But if an outsider was to look at this situtation, they probably couldn't help but call him dense for not knowing.
Yuya became a bit distracted and his brow furrowed. Suddenly he really wanted to bite who decided to come up with phases like that.
Mentally shaking himself, Yuya ran through all the possible scenarios of questions based on how their relationship progressed so far. And what was happening around them.
He absently murmured, "...puppies..."

Sherbert, half dozed, heard whispers coming from Yuya, but didn't quite hear him. She sniffled and shifted her weight, trying to get comfy next to her love ( ::hint:: ).

((Ah, that's what I figured after that))
Wen that didn't raise a reaction from Sherbert, Yuya continued to ponder about it. And ponder about it. And ponder about it.
Just as he was about to complain in frustration (along the lines of, "why are girls so complex and secretive??"), it hit him like a ton of bricks. The effect was just about the same. The air whooshed out of him and he felt a bit breathless.
He snuck a glance at Sherbert. Third second time's a charm right?
He took a deep breath to calm his nerves and to gather the courage to take a leap of faith.
"Will...will...will you..."
He frowned a bit. It wasn't coming out as easily as he thought.

Sherbert propped her head up on Yuya's paws, having heard him start to ask a question. She wasn't sure why he was hesitated, so she tilted her head. "Hon, what's wrong?" She whimpered with a lick of his cheek. Her eyes, hardly open, were filled with concern -- even if you couldn't quite see it.

Sherbet heard a bunch of scrambling words. She tilted her head to the side. She heard 'my', 'forever', 'err', and 'children'. Being a tad slow, she couldn't quite put two and two together. She smiled at him and said warmly, "Sweetie, slow down. You don't have to be nervous around me." She nuzzled him again, now giving her full attention, and looked at him, now hesitant. Why was he this nervous?
