"Aw...you two are no fun at all!" Obsidian pouted, putting her chin on her crossed arms, "If you'd be so kind as to release my baby there, I'll find something more exciting to occupy myself." She called down to Lucifer.

Obsidian streaked through the lightening the sky, "We're following the leader, the leader, the leader. We're following the leader, wherever he may go!" she sang gaily.

Lucifer returns to the forest, finding himself near castle walls as his body reforms from the black mist, he looks around and begins scouting along them, hiding in the shadows of the trees.

 Rai had been walking in plain sight down the path the man on the horse had been riding on moments earlier. Having felt a change in his surroundings as if something had shifted or something new had arrived he became on guard. His body lightly tensed at the prospect fof being attacked and he cast glances over his shoulders hear and their making the task look nothing more than casual at best. With his twin bladed sword sheathed on his back he was confident that he could take on any enemy that might present themselves to him. "I know you are there somewhere, come out of hiding." Rai spoke with a casual voice as if he was getting ready to meet someone for some afternoon tea, but that was not what his intentions were. He wanted to know if this being that was close to him was dangerous or not.

Lucifer vanished into the black mist again and re-appeared in front of the assassin and greets him "Ah, hello my name is Lucifer" He holds out his hand grinning wondering if youll attack instead.

Rai looked down at the hand then back up to the new arrival seemingly unfazed by the action of suddenly appearing in his path. Giving Lucifer a slight bow from his head he spoke softly to the newcomer, "Forgive me for not taking your hand but I wouldn't want to be caught off guard should more licans attack us in that act."
His tone was sincere though the reason was more or less inaccurate, "My name is Rai, are you a guard or resident of that castle there?" He poitned behind the man at the looming castle that stood tall over the trees of the surrounding forest.

Lucifer looks up at the castle as he lowers his hand "Nope, I lead the mercenaries, a castle is too showy for my style and takes too much effort to defend, I use an encampment, easy to defend, hard to find, sort of.." He says, placing his hands in his pockets

Rai allowed a smirk to break his stone face and he looked at Lucifer as if he was merely an underling. Mercenaries were pawns, assassins were treated as unrecognized knights in battle. People like him were merely tools and cannon fodder, where as people like Rai were used to take advantage of the distraction made by the cannon fodder. He spoke in a civil tone acting as if he was intersted, "Mercenaries huh? Perhaps my skills would be better suited for your camp then?" He said confidently as if the man before him held no challenge for him.

Lucifer tips his head down slightly and closes his top 2 eyes "I know a cocky smirk when I see one, I can beat you into submission if youd like. Of course, its nothing personal, a test of strength" he says, still stood in the same position, the trees around them suddenly fall outwards with large Void Back shards in front of the stumps, creating moving space for Lucifer. "Shall we?"

With a chuckle he remained in his stance and stared at Lucifer with an amused look on his face, "Cocky, no I never make such mistakes. Confident in my abilities, now that I am having killed so many in single strokes of my blades." There was a light pause as he stared at the mercenary with his amused look, then almost without warning he launched himself into the air about twenty or so feet when he procurred three kunai knives from his pack.
As he fell he threw one aimed for Lucifer's left shoulder aiming to cut the muscle and tendon that connected his left pectoral to his shoulder. The second he landed he shifted direction to his right when he had traveled about seventy five degrees he threw the second, this one streaked for the achilles tendon. Next Rai jumped up and over Lucifer landing on his left slightly behind his view as well throwing the final kunai, this one streaked for the space between the second and the third vertabrae.
The kunai were mere distractions and if they hit was merely by chance, the real attack came from directly above Lucifer, Rai's sword had been drawn without a sound and hummed with high voltage electricity. He aimed for his cranium even if his blade missed it's target the body would be shocked as the blade passed by.

Lucifer watches his movements, un-moved he as of yet more Void Shards come out of the ground, knocking the Kunai out of the air, he then turns to mist to move out of the way of the Lighting Blade, and re-appears 7 feet away "Thats a dangerous sword you have there" He says s he chuckles slightly, Lucifer takes his hands out of his pockets and jumps backwards onto the top of of the shards that knocked a tree down, knowing youll come after him he gets ready to jump as he speaks "From your speed and attacks, your dangerous close-range, unless I can disarm you, you have good mid-range weapons, and your speed can avoid anything from long-range, an impressive fighter, but everyone has a weakness"

"You flatter me but I suggest you keep watch rather than speak lest you distract yourself." Checking to make sure his shadow runes were still intact, once he was sure that they were still suppressing his aura, scent and the sound of his movements he made his move. By the looks of things he was meant to follow and so he did, he sheathed his sword and smiled as he made a strange hand gesture and the shadows around them began to gather and expand. This was Rai's shadow shroud technique, and it let absolutely no light in making it pitch black for the next fifteen minutes. Luckily Rai's natural ability of a shadow being allowed for him to see in total darkness.
Easily manuevering to where he jumped up above the mercenary he snatched another kunai from his pack and aimed for the jugular in Lucifer's neck. There was no electricity in this kunai, it would give his position away. He would wait until the blade pierced and nailed itself in Lucifer's neck before running dangerously high volts of electricity through the man's body. He didn't want to kill him after all, he was simply trying to get him to submit.

Lucifers white sharp teeth show as he smiles "Thanks for making this more homely" He chuckles a little as he dives out of the way of the Kunai as he summons his shadowy wrist-blades, diving towards Rei but lets himself fall into the shadow as he uses it like a portal, and comes out above him holding the wrist-blades so that he slices through both his shoulders.

Rai saw the act that Lucifer pulled off and cursed himself for not being more tact in his planning. Though he wasn't the only one who could travel through shadows, seeming to gobble him up the attack hit air. Rai exited the area in which they were fighting that his shroud was occupying. Being back in the night with the moon out felt like it was mid day to him now. The sudden escape should allow him enough time to perform his next attack.
With a quick set of hand gestures and chanting his energy flow increased in the direction of the sky. Clouds began to gather around the forest and soon lightning began jumping through the clouds and thunder boomed. If the man was homey in the shadows then perhaps this would make Rai more at home. Smiling to himself as the thought of what he was about to do crossed his mind, he was ready. Preparing himself for another strike from any direction he waited right hand on the hilt of his twin bladed sword left hand still gripping the kunia.

Lucifer placed his hands on the floor, flipping himself back onto his feet just before he hit the ground he notices the change in weather "That could be troublesome, nevertheless I have beat your expectations for most mercs, im not mere cannon fodder" He says as he chuckles again, standing in the same place as he scans the area looking for Rei.
