"Yeah, pretty much."
The twins turned to see what Ryuu was looking at. Seeing that it was the new couple they turned, cupped their hands 'round their mouths and yelled at the top their voices,
"Awww! Look at the little love birds!"
Hikaru then turned to look at Minoru, a look of slight confusion on his face.
"Wait. Shouldn't we call them love wolves, or something?"

Minoru looked at his brother, mimicking his confused look.
"I don't know. The saying is love birds though."

The two looked at one another for a moment before shrugging, their expressions changing to identical 'I don't really care' ones.

Come on old man, today's your big day. We're all counting on you... No pressure though.
The 10,000 year old put his tinted shades back on and started sprinting down one of the rubble strewn streets surrounded by the collapsed skeletons of buildings, in an area which was once the busy centre of a sprawling metropolis.

After the sleeper ships had left for worlds unknown, many cities had been stripped bare of any useful resources by huge swarms of nanobots, leaving eerie reminders in the form of bare concrete temples in their wake.

Tsukiko's battered & scarred face creased with concern as he looked at Takara while she spoke. Though he knew that they had barely any time left, it didn't dampen the feelings he had, if anything it made them burn stronger. A small, melancholy smile spread across his face,
"Takara... we may not have long left for this world, but I don't care, I'll cherish whatever time we have. However long we have, that'll be good enough for me."
The Alpha werewolf placed one of his hands on the girl's head, ruffling her hair ever so slightly in a rather tender way. He knew that he'd have to get ready for the battle soon, but he just couldn't bring himself to leave Takara just yet... He also knew that the ominous feeling he'd experienced earlier was beginning to grow stronger, whatever it was, it was getting closer.

From where she was positioned, Lilith could see the huge tower stretching into the sky, around which the battle was going to take place. Already the enemy's soldiers were massing, a mix of armoured soldiers & collared werewolves. The succubus moved her gaze from Tsukiko's army to the enemy's, judging the size difference between the two. While the army of the Angelus Corporation was larger, it was mostly comprised of humans which were still weaker than the werewolves.

Just as she was about to head back, Lilith noticed something strange near the bottom of the tower. What she had assumed to be mounted guns were moving, catching the sunlight as they did so. She tilted her head slightly, trying to figure out what it was. Beating her wings the succubus moved closer to the other army, even though she was risking detection, she had to figure out what these strange weapons were. It was only when they moved again that she understood. They were werewolves. Or at least... what was left of them. With huge, bulging muscles, patches of hair missing from their bodies & a minigun grafted into one of their arms, these things were barely recognisable as the werewolves they must have been previously.
What have they done....?
It was while she was staring at one of the wolf-creatures that one of them turned it's head in her direction, a snaking tongue lolling from it's mouth. Without a moments pause it raised the huge weapon, the barrel beginning to spin as it did so. Cursing loudly, Lilith spun in the air & tried to get out of range of the bullets she knew would soon be speeding her way. It was only luck that the shots simply glanced her wings, rather than hitting her body.

Takara smiled, her blonde and white ponytail swaying as Tsukiko ruffled her hair. The sound of bullets caused her to turn her head, and see the winged woman spinning in the air. "Tsu!" she cried out, worrying instantly. Had the battle already begun? She hoped not...

Ryuu growled when the sound of bullets filled the air, his hands immediately reaching for his blades. Tsukiko stopped him, the older man placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Calm it, Ryuu. Wait for the kid to give his orders."
Tsu patted his shoulder a couple of times before turning to the twins, his trademark grin appearing on his face.
"Looks like this is it, kids. You ready for a fight?"
Ryuu huffed and looked to Hemming, as a lot of the others were doing, to see what the werewolf was going to say now.

At the sound of the gunfire Hikaru had reached for his blade and Minoru went to grab his handguns, though both stopped themselves from drawing their weapons. At Tsu's question the twins glanced at each other before turning to look at the other. They shrugged.
"We're as ready as we'll ever be."

Tsukiko's head snapped up at Takara's cry & he spotted Lilith easily, her lithe body swerving through the air in an attempt to dodge the bullets whizzing past her. Taking off towards the succubus, the werewolf shifted mid bound; his huge muscles rippled beneath the fur now covering his body, his wolven head still looking up at the demon in the air, golden eyes flashing dangerously as a shot hit her in the shoulder & sent her tumbling towards the ground. A huge roar ripped from his throat as he switched from a bipedal run to a quadrupedal charge (luckily the Gauru form can travel equally well in either stance). As he neared Lilith's falling body he sprang between pieces of rubble, steadily getting higher until finally he bunched the muscles in his hind legs & launched himself towards her.

The werewolf's arms scooped the succubus out of the air, taking the weight & energy from the fall without even a pause. He landed with a thud on a large lump of concrete not too far away, holding the woman in his arms & looking over at the tower, a viscous snarl slipping from between his black lips. He placed Lilith down, looking at her for a moment, a fiery determination burning in his eyes. Next second he was hurtling back to his army, reaching them within minutes. He stood before them, his 10 foot form towering above most of the others; tilting his head back, he opened his jaws with a mighty howl, rallying them together to join him. He turned to Takara again, his eyes conveying emotions that could simply not be expressed with words, before he started moving off towards the tower.

He was going to give those bastards a battle they would never forget.

Lilith had been frantically dodging through the air before a massive force collided with her shoulder, sending her hurtling out of control towards the ground. There was a searing pain emanating from where she'd been shot & she just couldn't seem to pull herself out of the crazy spin. As the ground got ever closer she cursed herself for managing to get hurt before the battle had even begun! The demon closed her eyes, waiting for the inevitable impact with the ground below, only to feel a strong set of furry arms around her, cushioning her. Slowly she opened her crimson eyes, looking up at the black werewolf she knew to be Tsukiko - the deep scars he'd received could be seen even through his fur & the silvery undercoat was unmistakable. She smiled at him as he placed on the ground, then watched as he went back to his pack, knowing the battle would begin now - the howl pretty much clinched it. The succubus gritted her teeth slightly as she felt the bullet hole sealing up, glad that the projectile had gone right through, rather than getting embedded.

Takara whined even in the form she was in, feeling completely and utterly helpless. She watched as the man she now knew to be her destine love bounded away towards the demon woman, who was hurtling to the earth. As he caught her, a small woosh of air escaped her lungs and she let out a small cheer. She smiled, and flung her arms around the Uratha as he began to howl. She swiftly let him go and threw her head back, the tuneful howl causing her body to morph to a form she had not yet seen. Something about the intensity of her current emotions had caused her 4th form to be revealed, since her young age meant that she had not yet displayed them all.

A huge, heavily furred white wolf with pale golden patches lowered her head after a long howl, a few of the army gasping as she suddenly shifted into something no-one had seen her in. Finally! Her Urshal form! This would be most useful. Takara turned her head to face Tsukiko just as his eyes met hers. They were so full of...of...all emotions she could possibly name. It almost broke her heart just looking into them. Before he headed off to the tower, she swiftly ducked her head close to him and pushed her nose through his thick neck fur, mumbling something along the lines of "Be safe...my love..." As she watched his tail begin to bob away toward a tower, a small tear trickled from the corner of her eye and dropped from the end of her nose, leaving a small splash at her paws.

Aleksander leapt up onto the large chunk of concrete that Tsukiko had placed Lillith after she'd been shot. He landed beside her, looking over her rapidly healing wounds on her wings before taking her by the hand and helping her back to her feet.
"Are you hurt?"
He spun around, almost in slow motion as an enemy solider vanished from behind him. The solider appeared to have hundreds of cables running from all over it's head, down it's spine and into some kind of device half embedded into it's back.

Unlike in the case of Seth and 100, these teleporters could only use line-of-sight teleporting and could not carry others with them during teleportation.

Ryuu's tail lashed angrily at the ground while he watched Tsukiko unholster his guns and take a deep breath.
"Right. Let's do this."
He nodded towards the twins before he sprinted after Hemming, Ryuu following closely behind.
"Tsukiko."
The long-haired man looked back at his friend, who looked concerned.
"Don't go getting killed, okay?"
Tsukiko grinned.
"They won't be able to touch me."
Ryuu expression didn't change however, and Tsukiko could see the worry in his eyes.

With his army now thundering behind him in a flurry of baying, howling & snarling, Tsukiko charged towards the tower & the battlefield that would soon surround it. He could only turn his thoughts to Takara for a moment, praying for her safety in the upcoming events. His troops were already beginning to form a 'V' shape as they ran, with himself at the front - he wasn't one to let others fight his battles while he sat at the sidelines - this way they could power through the first lines of what he knew were going to be other werewolves, their minds & bodies no longer their own. As they got closer, the pack veered up towards the crest of a hill, the one that would lead down into the valley below, where the battle would take place.

Once at the top, the huge black werewolf surveyed what lay before him, seeing that the Angelus Corporation had massed their own forces already. As he predicted, a large group of werewolves were at the front of the enemy lines, no doubt only there to be used as cannon fodder of sorts - if they all died it didn't matter to the Corporation, they were expendable. What he didn't like were the things stood behind them, only vaguely Uratha if you could even call them that. No doubt they had been the cause for Lilith's injury, the gun molded into their shoulders were the arms should have been were proof enough of that. There were about 10 of them in total, but that small number could fell many of his own pack...

Lilith flexed her wing & shrugged slightly at Alek,
"Ah, it'll be fine in a minute, nothing too serious."
She turned slowly as something disappeared from around them, the shadows surrounding her beginning to twist & turn. She glanced towards where Tsukiko was leading his army towards the battlefield, a small hiss slipping out from between her lips as she realised the teleporters could do some pretty hefty damage to his ranks before he even got there. Her scorpion-like tail flicked behind her, the barb scratching along the ground & leaving a fairly deep gouge in the concrete. The Aplha werewolf was just surveying the field before him, she knew it wouldn't be long before he charged. She glanced at Alek, her voice hard & steely, nothing like it's usual sweet melody.
"What do you say Alek? Shall we keep them busy?"

Hikaru and Minoru looked to one another before drawing their weapons and taking to the air. They stayed low, just over the army to avoid becoming early targets, it wouldn't do well for them to be killed being medics.

"Busy?"
He flung an arm out to his side, grabbing at the air just as one of the teleporters appeared there, in time for the ancient man's fingers to tighten around a bundle of cables and pull many them loose of their various connectors, sending small arks of electricity between them.
"Busy as in dead?"
The teleporter shrieked an inhuman shriek as it's arms flailed around in a futile attempt to reach and reconnect the cables, which were still gripped firmly in Aleksander's hand.
"Because I can do that"
The teleporter's cries turned to a strange gurgling sound as it slumped the the floor, oozing a viscous green liquid from each of the sockets that the cables were inserted into.

Several of the teleporters were stood around their fallen comrade, more out of curiosity than anything else, as curiosity was useful for locating potential targets, it was one of the few emotions that remained in the crafted minds of the teleporting abominations that had been created by the Angelus corporation. The teleporters vanished at the sound of Alek dropping the handful of cables onto the floor.

Takara was an alert fighter, and it didn't take her too long to notice that the battle would soon begin. Watching the 'V' perch atop the hill, she sprinted as fast as her now extra muscled legs would carry her, and took her place just to Tsukiko's left, a little behind him. Sure, the point of the 'V' was now a little lopsided, but if she was going into battle, she was going with him.

Turning her head left, then right, she laid her ears back with a solemn acceptance that she probably wouldn't see many of the frontline werewolves after this, since no doubt at least 60% of them would be gunned down. The Uratha had power, resillience and speed, courage and bravery, but as long as there were masses of firearms, each single werewolf's life was on a thin line. Takara steeled herself for the times that were soon to come, forcing her eyes closed and tail and ears up as inhaled deeply. She remained that way; breathing deeply, awaiting the final command from her lover.

As Tsukiko stood atop his vantage point, towering above most of the other werewolves present, he noticed what appeared to be dark storm clouds in the distance. As he continued to look out, a peculiar heaviness began to press on him... there was a storm approaching. A strong wind gusted past, rippling the deep black fur across his body, revealing the silvery undercoat beneath; though his greying muzzle belied his advancing age, he was still an imposing figure. When Takara came up beside him the Alpha turned to her for a moment, knowing she was in just as much danger as the rest of them. Even in his Gauru state, his eyes softened ever so slightly as he looked upon her, inwardly wishing they could have had more time together.

After one final look over his gathered pack members, Tsukiko turned back to the battlefield & unleashed a mighty roar, the sound echoing all around him, before charging down the hill towards the opposing army. His fighters followed without a pause, streaking over the crest of the hill & after him. Soon the controlled Uratha from the Angelus Corporation followed suit, running towards Tsukiko's pack in a non-coordinated bunch. As the gap between the two forces lessened the Alpha was able to see the dead look in the other werewolves eyes & he thought it a kindness to put them out of their misery.

When the two groups met, there was the heavy thump of colliding bodies as the first fighters launched themselves at each other. The wedge shape of Tsukiko's pack allowed most of them to push forward into the centre of the other group, the Alpha himself cutting down three smaller enemy werewolves as he charged. As a melee of fighting broke out around him, the huge black werewolf pushed forwards, intending to take on the monstrous creatures he knew lay beyond this group; they hadn't fired on them yet, but it was only a matter of time... With a viscous snarl he threw himself at a large tawny coloured werewolf who was pinning a smaller female member of his pack, his hooked claws digging into the flesh of it's back & severing the spinal column. Looking around himself he briefly looked over how his fighters were faring, noting that the enemy werewolves had no real fighting strategy - they were just mindlessly attacking. A growl behind him caused Tsukiko to pivot, claws slashing at the air behind him just in time to hit a grey wolf in the face; blood splattered all over him from the impact & the enemy soon lay in a pool of it's own blood, twitching slightly.

"Dead definitely sounds good to me!"
A faint movement to Lilith's left made her tail lash out in that direction, effectively impaling a teleporter just as it appeared there. The vaguely scorpion-like appendage had managed to get the creature in it's chest, going in one side & straight out the other. The succubus grinned slightly, watching as the now limp body slowly slid off her tail when she lifted it.
"This is going to be fun..."
Just as she said this, the demon heard the unmistakable sound of a werewolf's roar & spoke to Alek.
"Look's like Tsukiko's started the battle, we should wrap this up quick so we can join him, what do you say?"
She could still faintly feel the teleporters as they moved around her, being able to sense their presence as they moved across shadows. She wasn't really sure how they were going to attack, but she knew one thing for sure - she could kill them.
