Player’s Name: ShinyObsessed Zahama’s Name: Elda (German; She who battles.) House: Atmaja Rank: Zahama Rehoming Clause: By entering this RP contest I consent to having read all of the rules and guidelines. I know that the success of the meta is dependant on whether or not she's played. If, for whatever reason, I can not be around to fulfill this responsibility, I hereby agree to let Honey Gee find a more suitable home in whatever way she sees fit. (amen) Personality: Elda has never been one to roll over for anyone. From her earliest memories she was constantly battling with Quella for their fathers affection. She was victorious in that battle, and in her victory she was not arrogant or boastful. Elda may think that Quella needed to do some serious soul searching, but she still felt sorry that her father could not love them both equally. Now she battles for her people's basic needs and must confront not only the evil Sahen, but also her wayward and lost sister. As much as she is a battle hardened and ridiculously brave lioness, she is also a mother, who loves her daughter more then words could express. That love extends to the Atmaja as they too are her family. Perhaps her love of her daughter and the Atmaja could be the strong foundation of her bravery. Prompt Response: Nandi was going to get them killed. She was certain of it. "Nandi, beloved, how can you ask this of me?" Elda knew why she dared. Elda was the Zahama. If there was trouble in the Atmaja, she was the one to go to. In this moment the weight of her position settled heavily across her shoulders. Not only that, but she was Nandi's mother. She had tried and tried to get Nandi to lower her voice and watch how she spoke of Sahen. And now here she was asking her to sneak a lioness out of the pride. Elda sighed. Was she ever that young and stupid?
She'd battled long with Quella, battles of brawn and brains for her father's favor and now she'd had to learn a new type of battle. One that keeps her safe so she may continue fighting for her people's needs, one of politics. It wasn't easy keeping a reign on her own opinions of the Shatkona but she did it because she would not put her family in danger. And now, for the sake of that same family that she pandered and flattered Sahen for, she was about to endanger it all. Yes, she'd help the lioness leave. Yes, she'd do her best to make sure she was free. But it didn't make her happy. She did not want to know any details and stopped Nandi from telling her the poor lioness's sob story. The less she knew, the more honestly she would be able to answer the Shatkona's queries. Once that lioness was out, she was out and Elda would obey her Shatkona if he ordered her to bring her back. There was only so far she'd bend in regards to safety of her people and position, even for Nandi.

CHAOS ADVISOR
Player’s Name: pinchmonster Zahama’s Name: Dhoruba -- 'storm' in swahili. I took a few days trying to find a name that would fit someone of her age and status, but nothing fit until I broadened my way of thinking. Storms are unpredictable by nature with the capability to wreak havoc where ever they go. They can also be quite gentle and welcoming, like a summer storm. House: Atmaja Rank: Zahama Rehoming Clause: By entering this RP contest I consent to having read all of the rules and guidelines. I know that the success of the meta is dependant on whether or not she's played. If, for whatever reason, I can not be around to fulfill this responsibility, I hereby agree to let Honey Gee find a more suitable home in whatever way she sees fit. Personality: Dhoruba is strong by nature, a facet of her personality that she adapted from her beloved father. She has a strong sense of right and wrong and never in a million years did she think she would see the Ashnai'le sink to the sad pride that it is today. Dhoruba is torn each and every day that she rises from her bed. Though honored by her position in the pride and thankful she was chosen and not her sister, Dhoruba cannot help but wonder if she would feel this agonizing wrenching deep in her heart each and every day if she had not been chosen. Quella was born to serve under a poisonous Shatkona, not Dhoruba. Not only does she feel regret about the yawning gap between herself and her sister, but she also knows the pain of a mother each and every day she watches her daughter try and make a life for herself within the pride. Dhoruba is old enough that she remembers the days of Queen Damini and the love that the pride had for her, the balance that they knew under her ruling despite her eccentric nature. She is old enough that she remembers the pride she felt when Sahen took his position as Shatkona... and she also remembers the pain she feels each and every day that he rules with a heavy paw, every day that she sees the fear-stricken look in the eyes of the lions of her pride. Prompt Response: "Give me time to think, Nandi. That is all I ask of you."
The sun had long since set behind the trees. Dhoruba was still awake, her mind troubled by the actions of her daughter. Nandi was a strong and prideful lioness, beautiful and golden just like her proud mother. Dhoruba had to wonder if Nandi had been kept safe this long simply because she was Dhoruba's daughter. Sahen was a cruel and selfish leader, yes, but he hadn't always been that way. There was a time that Dhoruba had looked upon the lion with something akin to the love of a mother. Damini had loved the boy, and Dhoruba had too. Part of her still did, believed that there might be some good tucked away within his heart. That hope was slowly ebbing away with each day that passed, though, despite the tenacious hold that Dhoruba kept on that hope.
Hours had passed since she had sent her daughter away from her. Nandi had asked of Dhoruba a terrifying favor. If Nandi was discovered smuggling lions out of the pride, she would be accused of treason and forced into a life of slavery, or even killed as a lesson to others that dared think of leaving the pride. Dhoruba could not fathom living a life without her beloved daughter, but what kind of life was she forcing her daughter to live? One full of fear and terror of their Shatkona? Not only that, but Nandi was asking Dhoruba to put her own life in danger? It weighed heavily on her mind. Her heart told her to help, but her mind said no. Though Sahen seemed to respect her because of her past duties as Damini's Zahama, Dhoruba couldn't help but doubt he would let her get away with helping Nandi in assisting the young lioness from the pride.
There was too much to lose. That would be Dhoruba's answer to Nandi. Patience, though it was not something that the Atmaja were known for, was crucial in this time of peril. No, Nandi would not have Dhoruba's help. She could only hope that such a decision would dissuade her daughter from doing something dangerously life-threatening. Balance would return, they only had to bide their time.

Just read over my entry... I like how I'm capable of misspelling an integral character's name... I think I mixed Nandi + Elda and came up with Nanda. It's fixed now.
