ha. Well, that's true.
I'd say I'm average with a bit of perfectionist. If there's a scale test or a playing test coming up, I'll practice A LOT. If not, I'll practice normally.

Depends on what music we are playing... If it is a song I like I'm Perfectionist. If were a so-so song, I'm more of an Average Joe. And any completely awful tune, I'm semi-Average Joe, but more of a Butterfly Chaser.

You forgot about the naturals like me. We never practice and still play better than everyone. I probably should practice though stare

lol, band teacher would never call anyone "naturally good" that would be discouraging a good practice ethic which would bring about the end of the world 'cos they all want you to practice until your fingers/mouth drop off =P

Well, i only take band 1 semester a year.. Im a highschool student but i go to school on a college campus.. so i practaclly skipped highschool band... Im a mix of perfectionist, average, and i get really annoyed at the butterfly chasers. I never really liked the people who couldnt shut up talking, and even though im in highschool myself, i have never played in a highschool band and so i have the college discipline down.. It infuriates me when highschool bands come to play at the college and they have a maturity level of 0 and a disrespect level of 100. adn their feet position is Terrible!!! and when the girls wear the knee length skirts on stage with open toe shoes- IT LOOKS TERRIBLE!!! so yea, im kindova stickler for appearance, performance, maturity, and respect/discipline.. but what can i say?? THey make a damn good band , and a group of muscians into a band...

A lot of people on the poll say they're just "me" and I'd have to agree with that. Our band is different and we don't have "first chair" and all that, but I classify us anyway and I'm like the second-best flute. The first flute is a perfectionist but I never practice. Usually I don't understand the song unless I can hear it, so I download it and listen to it or I only practice in school when it's the whole band or when I'm in class with the director.
I get annoyed at butterflies. I keep quiet in band, usually when the director is chewing out someone that messed up. Even when he says the flutes messed up I stay quiet.
I'm an average person I guess. But practicing doesn't feel like it improves me much. I like practicing scales though but I don't do them so fast xd

i'm a perfectionist. i really don't practice much, because typically i can play a song sightreading better than some people after practicing it forever. i have always been first chair, and have never had any competition for it.

I'm a perfectionist Butteryfly sweatdrop
The first thing to know about me is I talk, I talk A LOT.
So I pratice seldomly but when I do play something or pratice something it has to be perfect. I still manage to double, alto sax and clarinet and still be the I guess "first chair" in both, our school doesn't have chairs.
I'm a butterfly chaser in the terms that I've been knowen to carry on conversations in the middle of a peice that I'm playing, such as being on a four bar rest or even durring breathing. Songs that are lame so to speak I tend to just not care about or pratice or anything about them.
When It comes to playing tests Im the first to go volontary and My music teacher starts at the bottem of the list alphabetically so I'm second than, w for the win.
I play loudly only by request though, I play loud to keep everybody else playing clarinet (we have only 3 sax players, one in band (me)) on time and to make it sound like we have more than two decent players, when in reality thats all we've got.

I'm mostly an average Jo, but sometimes I have some ...ooh shiny... er, butterfly tendencies. It is generally directly related to the ammount of Mountain Dew consumed that day.

Words Of Wisdom From Bagel... I am a butterfly chase-... COOKIE! .:runs off:. Ok, sorry, what was I saying...? Oh... Though I suppose it has somthing to do with being a sax player... I was teaching someone how to play once and we got off topic and onto conversations such as: -8 year-old cake -Soup -Green stuff -Fuzz stuff -'WTF is growing in your alto, Rachael?'-him 'Huh? Ew....'-me {My alto's 20 years old and was like that when I got it.} And so on. Now Go Forth And Share Them...

Perfectionist, I would go first when tested (not in alphabetical order like my teacher does it). I practice when I have the time though....
