"You can think that if you want," she said, then pursed her lips and hardened her tone a bit, "but never do that again." A heavy sigh escaped her as she replaced her cheek on his shoulder. What the hell was she going to do with him? And what would happen when he remembered about Morrison?

Bah. She'd figure that out when the time came, but right now she needed to calm him down more. He just needed to sleep it off, but she didn't want him to go to bed until he felt at least marginally better. ...actually she wasn't even sure if that would be possible. Crap.

She sighed again, trying to think of something to say. "But you have started over, Lucas. We both have. We both left Galactic and started over as trainees here. I know it's still a criminal organization, but it's still a new start, isn't it?" That's what she'd viewed it as when she joined up in Johto. Plus, world domination seemed a much better goal than destroying it and recreating it.

"...I know." His tone betrayed a grudging consent, aware that it wasn't a thing anyone wanted to see from him and it wasn't a thing he particularly wanted to do himself. At the same time, though, keeping that promise meant closing off what appeared to be the only clear path towards amends.

When she finished speaking, Lucas pulled away, nonchalantly falling backwards with a sigh. A bruised hand fumbled with discarded glasses, noting their position to assure they were safe from the threat of being crushed. "...Maybe." Blue eyes remained closed in a serenity born of exhaustion.

When he pulled away to lay down she let him go, watching him with a slightly curious expression, though it was mostly filled with a guarded concern. He looked.. tired. He sounded tired too, or maybe that was just wishful thinking on her part? Either way, it was late, he was at least still partially drunk, and he needed to sleep.

She stood then and after he noted the position of his glasses, she reached down and picked them up, putting them on the dresser. "Come on," she said, moving her leg to nudge his knee with her own, "you look exhausted. You need to get some sleep." She'd said it earlier, and it was still true. As if to accentuate this statement, she leaned down to tug at the sheets that he was currently laying on top of. "Bed, mister."

"I'm in bed," he muttered defiantly, raising an arm to mask his eyes from the room's lights but otherwise making no motions towards moving himself. He was too tired to move anymore, completely lacked the will to move anymore, and, in all honesty, had no plans to move anymore. Placing himself below the sheets instead of on top of them sounded like it would require far too much effort. There was no problem as long as there was contact, right? Sure. He breathed a quiet sigh, shifting slightly as his muscles relaxed.

A quiet snort of amusement escaped her at his comment, but she would not take that for an answer, so she reached down and tried to pull one leg up by the knee. "At least roll over so all of you is in bed," she said, attempting to help him and speed up the process. As soon as he was asleep she would put those guns away, since he'd left them out. And maybe she would unload that small one too.. A loaded gun sitting in the bottom of his dresser made her nervous.

"It's fine," he said, his words and tone indicating refusal despite the fact that he complied, rolling onto a side. This was quite possibly pure coincidence, Lucas's instinct to be more comfortable aligning with Claire's insistence that he properly lie on the bed. Regardless of the cause, the result was the same: a rapid spiral into unconsciousness marked a complete stillness and a slow, even breathing.

After he complied and rolled over, she stepped back and watched him fall asleep rather quickly. Her hands found her face as her palms pressed into her eyes, and a deep sigh escaped her. She stood there for several moments before lowering her hands a few inches, violet eyes quickly locating the dresser with its bottom drawer still open, displaying his assortment of guns, as well as the ones he'd set aside and the loaded one on top of the dresser. She slowly moved to the dresser and picked that one up first, turning it over in her hands to study it. Guns had been useful weapons in Galactic, things she'd used when necessary - which wasn't nearly as often as poor Lucas - so though they were useful she'd never had too much training in their use. They were useful weapons then - but now they seemed like a horrible, morbid piece of metal. With a sigh she opened and unloaded it, then clicked it shut and replaced it in the drawer with the rest. The ammunition clinked together in her hand as violet eyes scanned the drawer.. ah, there. Her fingers found several boxes of ammo and swiftly jiggled each to find whichever one had space to fit these. Within moments she'd found one, opened it, put the bullets in, and replaced it with the rest of the boxes. The rifles off to the side were replaced in the drawer as well, and she slowly slid it shut with another sigh.

Her eyes moved to the sleeping form on the bed again, inwardly debating what exactly she should do. He certainly looked quite peaceful, lying there, sleeping... But she didn't want to leave. Not after what she had to watch him do earlier. ...no, she couldn't leave. She pulled herself up and clicked the bedroom light off, then moved to the side of the bed, and sat down on her hip beside it with her legs partially off to one side. Leaning against the bed frame, she laid her cheek down on the mattress and stared at the wall, her eyes slowly adjusting to the darkness. So many thoughts ran through her head, tormenting her mind with what he could have done, what could have happened - what could still happen. Her eyes shut tightly as yet another small sigh escaped her, willing these relentless thoughts to go away, but they refused. Eventually, though, she managed to drift off to sleep, one hand slipping off her lap to rest on the floor beside her.
