Sit so very still, my dear. Whisper softly in my ear What creature you would like to be: A star in the sky, a fish in the sea. Then sit back and start to wait.Hmmmmm... Sekayi Chitraka, alias "Paint" because of his love of makeup, was wandering the backstage in his free time with a sketchpad open and his pencil working busily. He was different from other boys. Skinny and almost feminine, he spent all his time focusing on the face rather than the muscles. He was fascinated with every aspect of the face (and a bit of the neck), and - more importantly - with how he could make it even more beautiful and fantastic. That was why, when he noticed someone playing with the makeup, he noticed and stood alert. He smiled when he saw who it was. Honey had such a nice and pleasant face - though her hair had changed from the last time he'd seen her. But currently she looked slumped and frustrated. "Hey, now," he said, striding up to her and setting his sketchpad on his nearby makeup station. "What's wrong?"What lovely face shall I paint?

Honey Bee
Honey looked up at Paint with a pout. "I can't do it." And from the look of things, it was the truth. When she had tried to put the mascara on she had gotten too close to her eye, so blobs of it got stuck to her lashes as well as her eyelids, which were colored in all the wrongs shades and ways and the eyeliner was smudged and crooked. She had too much blush on one cheek and not enough on the other and the lipstick she was wearing clashed horribly with the shade of her hair. Her eyes filled with tears as she stared at Paint. "I look silly a-and they said I could look more adult and pretty. But no one ever showed me how to use makeup and Jazz doesn't use makeup. A-And it's not like coloring at all."

Smiling, Paint reached for a tool on his table - a bucket of water with a soft cloth soaking in it. Bringing out the cloth and wringing it, he held Honey's chin with one hand - "May I?" - and began to gently wipe the faulty makeup off of her face."It would make sense for you to learn about makeup,"he agreed as he swiftly removed the eyeliner. "After all, clowns can't use words to show their emotions. Faces become very important for you. But you can't expect to get it perfect in the first try, can you?" he inquired comfortingly as he dabbed off the lipstick. "Colors and shapes are a skill to be made into an art form over time."When he had finished and her face was flushed from his slight rubbing but clean, he smiled and asked, "If it would suit you, would you like an instructor? This kind of thing is my specialty, you know."What lovely face shall I paint?

"No body every had a problem with it until now. . ." She looked up at him, blinking back tears. "Would you help me?" She had always been considered a bit childish due to her mood swings, thus she was never really expected to wear makeup or do womanly things. But the other day she had heard a few patrons talking about her. They hadn't said many nice things. . . which is why she ended up here, trying to be more adult. Paint's smile grew even wider as she accepted his help. He immediately warmed to his favorite subject, becoming more focused than he usually was. "No one ever had a problem with it because you have such a lovely face," he said honestly. "It's so nice and graceful in its shape. I'd love to help you!"He walked over to his own makeup table, gesturing that she should follow and sit there. Digging through his makeups, he started to dig out the colors that would best fit her hair color, eye color, and skin tone. "Now, the first thing we start with is color. We determine that, of course, based on hair, eyes, skin... You're a nice, fair shade all around, so we'll want to go with nice light shades, accented with bright bolds. Then we decide -"He looked up as a question occurred to him. "Would you like to start with stage makeup, or every-day makeup?"What lovely face shall I paint?

[[{wipes hand of makeup} No worries, no worries...]] Sit so very still, my dear. Whisper softly in my ear What creature you would like to be: A star in the sky, a fish in the sea. Then sit back and start to wait.Hmmmmm... A chuckle escaped Paint's lips as he finished fishing out his eyeshadows and face paints. He bent down to a drawer and started digging out the lipstick as he answered, smiling. "Every-day makeup is just that: makeup women wear every day. They emphasize their beauty, hide their blemishes - you don't have anything to hide, that'll make it easier - and accent whatever's in between. Stage makeup, on the other hand, is meant to pop, right off your face. There's a lot of creativity involved. We can make your face completely different so you don't even look remotely like yourself. Clown makeup is fun to do. You take each feature of the face and make it explode. A bright mouth filled with emotion. Eyes that shine like stars - because they are stars. And usually a white face, so that each feature stands out all the more."Straightening, Paint put his selection of lipsticks on the table and started casting about for powders. "Other stage makeups can add to a certain theme. Fire eaters can be painted so that their faces appear dark and aflame. A singer may have her face painted to match the mood of her song. But one of my favorite things to do is create new faces... of new creatures."He turned and picked up his sketchbook, showing her some of the colored pictures and describing the ones he liked the most. "With a little paint, I can make your face look like a star - a mermaid - a monster - an elf - a tree - anything! That's stage makup."He closed the book and smiled at her. "So... which one would you like to do first? Keeping in mind that, with stagemakup, I'll always be here to help you."What lovely face shall I paint?

Blow a kiss, I run through air Leave the past, find nowhere Floating forests in the air Clowns all around you Honey Bee Honey looked lost and confused for a moment before she reached up to cover her mouth with her hand. "I-I don't want my face to pop off." She said, very confused about it all. Makeup made no sense to her, if women had something to hide, why not just wear a mask? She brought her knees to her chest and hid her face in them, covering her head with her hands. "I-I have to wear makeup every day?"

[[{beams} Paint's fun to do. Just make him super excited.]] Sit so very still, my dear. Whisper softly in my ear What creature you would like to be: A star in the sky, a fish in the sea. Then sit back and start to wait.Hmmmmm... Paint shook his head and held up his hands quickly. "No, no! Absolutely not! Some women do because they like it, or because they feel self-concious. But your face - here, let me show you."He spun her chair just a small angle until she could see herself in the mirror. He began pointing to parts of her face as he explained. "See, your eyes here? Nice, large, bright and engaging. They really grab attention. Your mouth is a nice size, and your lips are shaped very well. Nice and dainty, really. Your nose - so adorable! It fits in perfectly with your nice cheekbones here."He pulled back a bit of her hair until the ears were revealed. "See, small to the point of dainty, but not tiny. Fair of tone, bright of feature all in all. You have a very lovely face, and there is no reason for you to wear makeup every day."He kept his smile kind as he continued. "While you are on the stage, however, your fair features are blurred by the lights. Makeup that would match your costume and exaggerate your fetaures would be purely for a theatrical effect, only for the stage. You could wash it off afterwards."What lovely face shall I paint?

Blow a kiss, I run through air Leave the past, find nowhere Floating forests in the air Clowns all around you Honey Bee Honey's cheeks flushed as he pointed out all of the features of her face. "That's good. I'm horrible with make up. . ." She pouted a bit again, looking in the mirror. She had never considered herself lovely or fair or pretty at all for that matter. She was simply herself. "You don't think I look funny?" Being a clown, she had often heard people call her funny looking, but no one really commented on her looks when she was out of costume. [[Thought you should know that I won't be here April 16 - 23 or so.]] Sit so very still, my dear. Whisper softly in my ear What creature you would like to be: A star in the sky, a fish in the sea. Then sit back and start to wait.Hmmmmm... "Absolutely not!" Paint exclaimed. "I think you're lovely, and I'm not the only one who thinks so."He pulled out his notebook again. "See, I even have a sketch in here that I made specifically with your face in mind." It was one of his favorites. It was meant to be the comical exaggerated face of a clown, but with curving, gentle lines instead of harsh ones, using pinks and creams. The overall effect was that in the drawing, Honey's face looked like herself turned pink and rosy, emphasized so that an audience could see her.He was a little shy about it. "I thought that, because you're so lovely like that, if you were to wear clown makeup it would have to be elegant and graceful instead of obnoxious."What lovely face shall I paint?

[[I'm back! Sorry it took so long.]] Sit so very still, my dear. Whisper softly in my ear What creature you would like to be: A star in the sky, a fish in the sea. Then sit back and start to wait.Hmmmmm... Paint blushed. He nodded shyly. "Yeah... all of these are mine. I like to practice, so if there's an emergency I can just flip to the appropriate page and..." He shrugged. "It's fun. I've always enjoyed playing with the colors and shapes. Sometimes I even draw it in makeup, so I can test texture." He opened up to a page that had a wax sheet covering it to show her. "I have to separate them like this so they don't stick to the other pages, so they don't look as good afterwords, but it's worth it to find out what the makeup will be in contrast with each other, sometimes."Suddenly eager, he turned back to the page of her face and looked at her with a half excited, half pleading look. "Would you like to try this, just for fun? It'll give you an idea of what stage makeup is like, and you can see if you'd like it."What lovely face shall I paint?

She smiled, her eyes crinkling a bit in the action. She'd really like to flip through the pages of his drawings, but he seemed eaer to do her makeup.

Sit so very still, my dear. Whisper softly in my ear What creature you would like to be: A star in the sky, a fish in the sea. Then sit back and start to wait.Hmmmmm... The smile broadened as Pink propped up the notebook on the mirror so that he could see her picture for reference. "Great! Thanks, I've been wanting to try this one for a while."Before he started, though, he stared at her real face with deep concentration. Very, very slowly, her face began to change colors in places. Most of her face was white, meaning to be a background to let the rest of it pop, as well as a smooth canvas for the rest of the paints he would use. Intricate designs bedecked the right side of her face in a semi-circle, from her chin to forehead, in a nice pink shade. A giant magenta star overlapped her left eye. To prevent her eye from blending in, the eyelid was painted a pale, pale pink. The top lashes were a thick black, and the bottom a bright white. Her lips were painted a fair rose color, glittering slightly. He surveyed her face, nodding. "This'll be the finished project. Anything you'd like me to fix?"What lovely face shall I paint?
