She paints her fingers with a close precision He starts to notice empty bottles of gin And takes a moment to assess the sin She's paid for A lonely speaker in a conversation Her words are spinning through his ears again "There's nothing wrong with just a taste of what you've paid for."
Jake Middels "Thats not what I consider as fair. You shouldn't have to suffer at all. Most of the people you used your power on, did something to hurt or upset you, so they diserved it. Though if you really wanted to suffer along with them, then just having the illusion is fair. It would be equal on both sides. Or the person your using your power on should have to physically suffer as well." Jake said as they reached Dema's tent. He then opened her tent flap and let her walk in first. "Well what if I hadn't woken up for a long time or the person you used your power on just got up and left at one point. You would have bleed to death. Thats not something you shouldn't worry about. Anyway its fine if your scars show, I mean they aren't all that bad. Its not like they change you in anyway. No one will like you or dislike you more because of them." He senses something, call it desperation Another dollar, another day And if she had the proper words to say, She would tell him But she'd have nothing left to sell him Say what you mean Tell me I'm right And let the sun rain down on me Give me a sign I want to believe~

After being completly denied and ignored by the beauty he first met at the circus [-cough cough- sonya -cough cough-] Anthony got a job doing basic manual labor for the show. He'd build things, move things, dig holes, whatever was needed. But, as of right now, he had a bit of spare time, so he sat in an open field, playing his instrument and singing an old Armenian tune that had been sung to him at night when he was a baby. Unlike his father, his mother was a kind being whom he had looked up to. On her death bed, she inform him of the line of men in the family, which made him come here in the first place.

She continued walking until she heard a tune. She had never heard it before and was unable to figure out what type of music it was. She could hardly understand the lyrics, but tried to stay open minded to them. She started walking in the direction of the music.
She stepped into an open field and saw a boy. He was facing the other way. She decided to listen for a bit longer. Now that she could hear it better, the song reminded her of something, but she couldn't remember what. She didn't want to just stand there and be kind of stalker-ish, so she made her way across to him and tapped him on the shoulder. "D-do you work with the circus?" she asked, angry at herself for stuttering.

He jumped a bit, ending the song roughly before turning to her. "Yes, I do. . . do you?" He asked, smiling kindly.

She did her best to smile back. "Um... well, I don't.. yet," she said. "Do you think you could help me find whoever runs the circus?" Something about the boy made her feel at unease, but she couldn't put her finger on it quite yet.

Anthony smiled a bit and nodded. "Well, I think he's a bit busy with some stuff right now but give him some time and I'll lead you to him. There are some things that happened earlier and he's trying to sort them out." He looked at her and then offered his hand in a shake. "My name is Anthony. What's yours?"

She wasn't sure if it was nice to meet him or not. A part of her urged her to leave, but she didn't want to be rude.

"I'm here because I want to join the circus," she said. "I saw the performances and, well, figured that there are people as... unique as me here." She picked up a rock and moved her fingers over it. Acid seeped out of her finger tips and slowly turned the rock to dust. "I don't live that close to here, but it's close enough. I hope I don't have to go back there..." She looked from the dust in her hand to Anthony. "Why did you join?" she asked, deciding that he owed her an answer for hers.

"Originally I came here to apologize for my family. My great great grandfather did something horrible to Miss Madlen. But since my group left me behind, I decided to get a job here. A gypsy's gotta do what a gypsy's gotta do, right?" He chuckled.

She then grew distant and and a bit guarded. "Yeah," she said quietly. She backed a few steps away from him. How could someone nice be on of those gypsys? she thought. It must be an act. She needed to get a job at the circus but with a gypsy there, she wasn't sure anymore. She decided to stay even though he was there. Once she could get further away from him, she would.

"Is something the matter?" Anthony asked, wondering if he had said something to offend her. Sometimes he said things without realizing it until it was too late, which lead to often a slap across the face. "Did I say something wrong?" He wondered outloud.

She couldn't look at people when she lied. She just felt wrong when she did. It was probably because of how she was expected to act at the school she used to go to. "You didn't say anything wrong." Her replies almost sounded forced. She shifted her weight, trying her best not to bolt.

Anthony nodded, though he didn't seem convinced. "That was a cool trick you did. . . with the rock. Is that your power?" He asked, having learned quickly when he got into the circus that many of the actors had special powers.

"You don't have to lie," she said. "My 'power' is horrid. Nothing good can come from it." She could no longer try to act even the slightest bit friendly. He was a gypsy; he couldn't be nice. She would never be able to believe that he was normal. The only thing she had ever heard about gypsys is that they were bad and that they stole.
