"Awesome, downgraded from amazing war wounds to hit and run. Doing GREAT tonight." He laughed to prove it was just a joke. Really, the hit and run excuse was quite plausible!
"Look Zeeman, faster I get in there the better, and quite honestly my leg is already messed up. So, forget the tray, let's go!"
And then in typical 'charge right in!' Demy manner the blonde scooted right back out of the car and thankfully into the chair. Unfortunately without the pole to brace it the bandages could do little to prevent Demy's knee from bending once it no longer had the car seat to support it.
Cue one quick scream of pain before he covered his mouth and muffled it away. No no, god damnit no he was not going to go on and on about how much this hurt. He was going to be a big boy and ******** deal with it. Toki and Zac didn't need anything -else- weighing on their minds.
..God he needed to get in there -now- and get his leg straightened out.

Waving a hand in the air, she shrugged her shoulders. "You know how hospitals are... dont go out of the way to get you in the door. Could collapse outside the door and they wont rush you in." So she instead got the wheelchair... "There should be a way to prop your leg up on this thing... hell if she knew how. Toki winced out in pity when the boy muffled a scream. He was a captain, but damn if he was not human.
"Zac, please get back in the car. You are injured as well and i really do not want you to get worse from any more movement than necissary."
A pause.
"Demy it might be wise to say your goodbyes for now..." Zac couldn't go inside with them. She knew the two were close, she was waiting before rushing the boy inside for just a moment. Demy really couldn't wait any longer. She really was tossing off orders, but she meant them more as requests or suggestions. As the least injured one of the bunch she was feeling her protective instincts coming out tenfold.

Zac's eyes narrowed for a moment like he might try and argue her just for the principal of arguing, but he sighed and leaned back into the seat looking exhausted. No wonder he hadn't suggested he could teleport somewhere, they were all drained beyond reason even with the energy they had taken.
"Dem...You'll be fine ok?" It was as much for himself as it was for his long time companion. "I'll keep in touch with you ok? Keep your cell on hand, I'll bring a charger when I can or I'll get Para...Heather to....alright? And I promise I'll keep Hel occupied and out "oops I took your star seed' range. I don't want you in TROUBLE for killing the cannon either."

For all that his knee was killing him, Demy looked the most upset when he realized he had to say goodbye to Zac. But...but but but! Zac was hurt too! Zac needed help! Why were they just going to leave him out here in the car? Why leave him at all?
And then something else dawned on him.
"Oh...oh GOD d-don't leave me here. What if it's like last time and I don't wake up and oh g-god---"
No. No no no. This was NOT going to be like last time. There was no weird coma epidemic going on...just him and his knee, that desperately needed medical attention. He would be okay. He would be okay.
"..S-sorry, I'll...I'll be okay, and I'll have my phone and just..please text me or something so I'm not lonely, both of you okay? I'll..s-see you soon Zee..."
He still looked terribly miserable with the whole leaving Zac behind thing.

When Demy started to freak out.. she started to push the little chair towards the doors to the ER. She didn't want him to lose his cool, he NEEDED to have surgery.. there were no if, ands, or even buts about it. "Youll be fine Demy." She honestly did not know... but her words sounded a lot more confident than she was. Hopefully he didnt call her bluff, she was not sure if she could lie to the kid again.
Toki wheeled Demy into the ER, and the people from the ER..of course made him fill out paperword before calling him back. She would not be allowed back anyways... not family. Waving good by to Demy, she made him promsie to text her details later. (Can the boy even text?)
Anyways...
Returning back tot he car, she flopped back into the passengers seat. She cast a nervous glance towards her captain. "Uhm.... so yes. my place. Treat your wounds..." With that, she turned the car on and drove off in silence.
