I don't see anythign wrong with talkign to them...but praying, that a whole diffrent case. I personly feel prayer was reserved for God. When you prey so som eone not God its the same as treatign them as God...ahh...forget it...

My definition is basically, communicating with someone in Heaven. Now, worshipping someone who is not God is treating them like God; But we don't do that.

Exactly. Prayer is communication to me. Asking God and thanking God falls under worshipping, which is only for God. Saints aren't gods, they're just plain souls that made it to heaven.

I.Am sachiko_sohma Jesus would be middle eastern ( I can't remeber what they be called) so he wouldn't be white and his real name is Yashua ( they didn't have j's in some contries back then) and yes, Catholics I believe would be condisdered (sp?) pagans. I'm sorry, but this really bothers me: Catholics -cannot- be Pagans, or else all Christians are Pagans. Catholics were first; Peter was the first Pope, before the Protestants broke off all Christians were Catholics. What gives you the idea we would be Pagans? For one thing, even if you do not know the history of the Christian religion in any detail, Catholics believe in and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, right? Would that not, by definition, make them Christian? And I don't see where you are getting the idea that he is calling Catholics pagans. Also, the Greek alphabet does not have a letter for the 'j' sound, and the New Testament was written primarily in Greek. I don't know for sure, but I believe that Hebrew does, otherwise the translators of the Bible must have messed with a lot of things, since there are Joshuas and such in the Old Testament. Lastly, I'm curious as to what source says that his real name was Yashua, because I've never seen that anywhere. I haven't seen any proof against it either, but I'm just curious. And Jesus would have had an Arabic/Egyptian type of look to him; Israel is, like, right by Egypt, and is fairly close to Jordan too. Personally, I'd call them all Arabs, but I don't know if they would be offended. I prefer to say out of religion cause it just seems to tear people apart. You just made me feel bad. ( yes, this is Sachiko) Well, but I don't want to just take your word on that, no offense. I mean, if it's been lost over the ages, even to people who translate directly from the Hebrew, then where would you find something like that? And, again, the Jewish must have a 'j' sound in their language; Jew. Jewish. Joshua. John. James. Jebidiah. Job. Etc. Don't feel bad; I'm not saying that being a Pagan is a bad thing either. Neither is being a woman. But I'm neither, and it would be insulting to call me either. And even if you do not think that pagans are bad, many Protestants would think of Pagans as that way, and would use it to exclude Catholics from Christianity. And, because my religion is frequently accused of or thought as things that it isn't, I feel a need to correct misinformation. Partially because the more people that know the truth, the less the misinformation spreads.

Christianity was originally a small cult and then (several years after Yashua died) they decided that it was possible to begin baptising. This is how they made their small group (which was common if you look at Greek and Roman Mythology where they worship different Gods depending on where they are and what's most important to them) into a much larger group. However, they couldn't keep people happy like that so they had to incorporate Pagan religious holidays. You can't tell someone not to celebrate something that they have celebrated their entire life and expect them to be happy. Even the Christmas tree is based on ancient Pagan tradition. Originally they would give gifts to a person and celebrate him for a day then they would through him the the river where he would be washed away and bring all their sins with him. They eventually stopped using people and started to use trees. That's why we now decorate Christmas trees.

Im pentecostal, so I guess that would be "Crazy bible thumper" but I dont tend to attack anyone for their beliefs so I guess that negates that image.
However, some people would say that Im in a cult (because we see god as a oneness rather than a trinity(it's too long of a explanation to get into but it basically boils down to how we feel the Holy Ghost) so there are my beliefs.

I think you'd go under Protestant in Andy's definition. Which I don't think really covers all Christians...Protestant and Catholic don't include everyone.

Oh, there's plenty of Protestant religions that don't believe in the Trinity, or so I've heard. 3nodding And by "Fundamentalist," I don't mean, "Your religion is stereotyped as being that way," but rather that you go up to people and literally (or not) beat them over the head with the Bible until they become Christian, or die. Well, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit.

What else is there? sweatdrop You've got Catholics, and Christians who "Protest" certain beliefs held by Catholicism. Which would mean any Christian who's not Catholic, I think. I mean, Protestantism could easily be split into several other groups, including Pentacostal, Fundamentalist, New Age, etc. I just don't know all of them off the top of my head. sweatdrop
