Sabriel's sudden motion caught Len's attention before she could reply. As the plastic hurtled towards her, she made a backhanded swiping motion. A sudden gust howled across the grounds, stirring up the snow and catching the plastic bit. It tumbled and spun in midair before being pitched far in the opposite direction.
Try it again, and that'll be YOU, Len thought, giving Sabriel a sweet smile. Looking down at herself, she sighed and started brushing the snow off.
"Guuuuagh, I can't stand snow," she muttered, then adding, "Y'know, I think a picnic would be lovely... just so we could get to know each other and stuff. Me an' my family don't really get out much - we hardly know anyone."

Everyone had surprises, didn't they? Chin tossed an impressed look at Len, then grinned, noticing the smile. Deimos had mentioned something about alignments before - it might be the same thing. Still, she didn't think she'd ever get used to it.
"Same here." Making a few calculations on her fingers, she laughed. "We know...I think...nine people?" She was struck by how pathetic it sounded when actually put into numbers.
That was all she had time to say. The toddler's angry shouts were cut off by the sight of the plastic spinning inches past his head to soar off to the other end of the playground. The feeling the magic gave him was an unpleasant shock. Sense went straight out the window at that feeling - the anger was back in full force and more. A push with his hind feet shoved him into space, claws spread for the fall, not a single thought of missing Len and going splat on the ground in his head.
In fact, he'd rather splat than miss.
What the -- He JUMPED! Seeing her "baby" about to suicide, Chin was certain she screamed, and the words a person could make out were highly child-innappropriate. She crashed right into Len on the way to the rescue and didn't notice. That was where he should end up. Or else nobody was going to be there to catch him. He jumped! Sabriel, you idiot!

"Oh no you don't." Lenore hissed, throwing up her arms with hands wide open as though to catch the Cat. The wind howled again, a shear roaring up from above her and kicking up more snow into a minature blizzard. The wind caught Sabriel but didn't throw him - though Len wasn't being gentle, since it whipped at his fur and tails rather harshly. Scowling at the Cat, Lenore waited until he was at a safe height before letting the carrying wind abruptly die.
"Bit of a temper, huh?" She said casually to Chin, brushing off more snow from her hair and clothes.

Not gentle at all. The wind hurt, gusting up between his sensitive paws. It slapped his own tails against him once or twice. Sabriel pressed his ears flat and bore it with gritted teeth, and when it dumped him into the snow, huddled up in a battered lump of fur.
"You idiot." Chin whispered aloud. She was shaking. "Thank you so much, Len." When her legs worked again, she lifted the toddler up - one of those rare times where he didn't care at all, only buried his nose in her shoulder and rumbled, trembling all over. If she had a guess, it wasn't from being scared.
Turning back to Lenore, she managed a weak smile. "I-I think we'd better get back. M'sorry about all this. I think peace and quiet left town a long time ago." Calling up strength from somewhere, she added a bit less contritely, "And you can bet he'll wish he'd never been born, once I'm through with him. We'll see you later?"
As if Lenore ever wanted to see either of them again after this. Picnic? Yup. Not likely.

(___New RP with Rose and Green)
Lenore sat alone on one of the playground swings, kicking at the sand with her eternally bare feet in sullen boredom. She was really quite lonely - her family was gone for the day, off to work and school. Even her doll Sadako was busy elsewhere.
"That's sad, bein' ditched by a doll," Len said to herself. Staring hard down at the sand, she willed a faint breeze that was blowing past to turn into a little dust devil, kicking up and whirling frantically like a miniature tornado. She smiled at the sight of it despite her mood, watching it go.

Green hummed quietly to her self as she entered the playground, pushing the stroller that held Rose ahead of her. So far it had been an incredibly long, tiring day and the young, blonde woman wanted nothing more than to put her feet up and relax.
The bunny child nibbled on the head of the kangaroo plushe she'd grown so terribly fond of, as her little mind replayed the events of the day. Her eyes swept across the playground, in search of somebody to play with.

Lenore grew tired of her improvised amusement and let the dust devil fade off, sending sand in a glittering cloud over the playground and onto the lawns. She started swinging a bit, angling her arms carefully so her wings wouldn't get caught in the chain. It wasn't until she was nearly going over the bar with the force of her swinging that she noticed the two new people. Instantly wanting to meet them, Lenore pushed herself off the high swing without even thinking, landing hard on the ground in a crouch.
"Heya!" she called cheerfully to the new people, getting up and dusting off skinned knees. "I'm Lenore, who're you?"

Green was too tired to be startled by the girl's sudden appearance. They were in a playground, after all, and children did tend to spend much of their time in playgrounds.
She smiled sleepily at the girl and introduced them, "I'm Green and this here, is Rose."
She gestured to the bunny child who was currently beaming up at Lenore, pleased to see a new face. The kangaroo plushie was momentarily forgotten at her side, and the baby reached out towards the older girl with impatient arms.

Len nodded eagerly at the introductions, dusting off her dirty and slightly torn skirt and grinning.
"Nice to meet you. Heya, Rose. I like your ears," she said to the baby. Kneeling down to the child's eye level, she waved at the little girl before looking up at Green again. "So, you guys're new around here, huh?"

Rose giggled and waved back at the girl with a chubby hand. Her ears twitched against the side of her head and mumbling something incoherent, Rose shoved one of them in her mouth and nibbled on the end.
"Nice to meet you to," Green nodded and then yawned in response to Lenore's question, "We are new, yes. We spent the enter day exploring the grounds. I'm very much exhausted."
She sighed and impatiently plucked the baby's ear from inside her mouth. Annoyed, Rose peered up at Green and then pointedly stuffed the tips of both ears into her mouth.

Lenore snorted at the child's defiance. She glanced up at Green, grinning again.
"Yeah, the place is huge - had like a massive growth spurt a couple months ago. Those mountains over there," she stood and pointed, "-weren't there before. Half the forest wasn't there before, either. It got ridiculously huge."
She looked out at the mountains for a moment before turning back to Green.
"Any time you guys want a tour or somethin', me and my family'd be happy to show you around. There's my mum, her brother, and this guy Ethan who just kinda lives with us now." she said, ticking off family members off her fingers. "How many people live with you? Or... or is it just you and Rose?"

Green studied the mountains and the forest with stunned eyes. They'd appeared over a period of months? Really, now, that seemed incredibly unlikely.
But, she'd been a witness to stranger things.
Wondering if Lenore might have an explanation for the sudden growth spurt she asked, "Do you know what happened?"
"A tour would be wonderful," she grinned at the girl and then began to count the various members of her family in her head.
"There's... let me see... Nyx, y'hm and Marie and Eve... So, including Rose and me... that's five."
Rose wasn't at all bothered by the fact that she couldn't partake in the conversation. The baby gurgled happily and rediscovered the kangaroo plushie she'd previously tossed aside. She nibbled on its tail while she watched and listened to her mother speak with the new girl.

Lenore nodded, biting at her lip in thought as she tried to remember what had happened.
"Well... it just all kinda happened like a big explosion, sort of. We were just minding our own business, and then, bang! Bigger building, more land for the grounds.... pretty cool. Only took a couple minutes." she said matter-of-factly. "Anyways, my house is the one with the door that's all scratched up and has lots of dents 'cause it's gotten kicked in a couple times. You can come over! Mum likes visitors, I do to, and we can, er... tour stuff."
"Wow... five people... that must be nice! Rose must have nice brothers an' sisters, then," she added a little enviously. Not for the first time she wished privately for a sibling of her own - someone to hang around with when her friends weren't readily available.

A couple of seconds? Impossible! Green gaped at Lenore, completely awestruck. Usually, it took thousands of years for mountains and forests to grow. If the girl was speaking the truth, which Green had no reason to doubt, something else; something amazing was at work here.
She took a few more minutes to study the area, taking it all in and registering it to memory. Perhaps a bit of research was in order.
"I'd love to meet your mother," she grinned.
"Well, they've all been good to her so far. But, I'm not sure how long that'll last," Green chuckled, "Sisters tend to fight a lot. When Rose grows... things might not be as peaceful."
Little bits and pieces of their conversation were begining to register with Rose. The mention of her sisters peaked her interest and the bunny child's ears twitched.
So far, she liked Nyx the best. It had been she who'd given her the kangaroo plushie, after all.

"You'd probably like her. She's... well. She's Mum." Len said, grinning a bit shyly. How could one possibly explain Crow? She didn't bother to try - Green could find out for herself.
"Well... you never know. They could all get along an' stuff." Len said, before thinking over her reply and laughing at herself a bit. "Well, it's a nice thought, anyway. They got earmuffs at the store, iffen you don't want headaches once they start shouting at each other," she added jokingly.
Glancing down at Rose, Len eyed the strange toy she had and squatted down next to her, trying to get a look at it.
"Whatcha got there, Rose? Looks kinda like you. Kinda."
