"I..." To lie or not to lie? "I wanted to change the subject. It was the first thing that popped into my head..." Nyx retracted her head into her shoulders, starting to be embarrassed again, though it was hard to be embarrassed through the fact that she felt bad that she'd brought up something that seemed to bother her Miss Nadja, but she managed.
There were more clanging and crunching sounds.

It took an effort to remember what they had been talking about before that name was mentioned, but even without full recollection Nadja could make.. vague sense of it. "Well." She rested her head on one hand and worked the other deeper into her Arcanine's mane, wrapping her arm over his thick neck. "Maybe that's worth thinking about."
Another pause. "Your Mew is in my kitchen."

"What? I-I- there isn't anything to think about..." Nyx half whined; It was only fair that Nadja bring up something Nyx didn't really want to talk about. The agent grumbled a little, "... It's just Mau." She crossed her arms and made a face like someone had kicked her sand castle in her face.
Darwin recognized the word 'Mew', apparently, because as soon as it was mentioned, the clanking and crunching abruptly stopped.

Nadja didn't bother responding to that.
She bowed her head over Moloch instead, the tips of her hair blending into his fur, and her shoulders moved in a sigh. After a moment, with some effort, she gathered up her crutches and stood, then started the trek toward the kitchen to see about the Mew that was, by the sound of it, in her manicotti. Moloch followed after her obediently, ears low in a reflection of his owner's mood.

Nyx took the cookies off of her lap and stood, following after the Elite. She'd need to retrieve her pokemon, after all.
The Mew in question was in a cabinet under the counter, nestled on his back comfortably in a colander, his tail draped over the side. There was a large hollow noodle on his tummy with lots of little bite marks from where the tiny pokemon had been nibbling away at it. Darwin sunk further into the large bowl-like device when the cabinet doors opened, staring up at the red-head with big blue eyes. "...Mew."

The woman gazed down at the little creature who shrunk away from her, lips briefly pursing in a rueful smile that died before it was ever born, and drew a breath.
"It was a nice idea," she said and paused to work up enough concentration for another sentence, waiting - maybe - to see if Darwin would emerge on his own. "I appreciate it."

Darwin stared up at the woman for a long moment before leaning over and pulling another large noodle out of a box. "Mwf." The tiny creature rocked back and forth and finally slid out of the colander, clutching the new noodle and the half eaten noodle in his little arms, as he plodded awkwardly across the floor and out of the kitchen on his giant feet.
Once she saw Darwin was out of the cabinet, Nyx went back and picked up the plate of cookies and her DVD. "Thank you, ma'am..." Nyx thought back to how bored being cooped up 'sick' was, "If there is anything you want, Miss Nadja, let me know and I will bring it to you..." It felt good to know that, while it wasn't ending wonderfully, the Elite at least appreciated the thought behind the visit.

"Yes." Back turned, voice quiet, the elite barely responded. It was selfish of her to just wait for Nyx to leave, but her head was full of thoughts that had been held at bay long enough. In a moment they would swarm over her.
Moloch waved his tail at Nyx carefully.

Nyx frowned and opened the door, holding it open for Darwin, and then looked back at Moloch and the Elite, "Bye, Miss Nadja. Bye, Moloch." She closed the door behind her.

As the door closed, some of the rigid tension that had been holding Nadja upright relaxed, and she let out an exhalation. For a while she just stood there, staring past the colander on the tiles with a pensive expression. Then she shifted her weight to her good leg and with her free crutch hooked the colader by the handle.
"Kazhet·sya, chto mertvye ne ostanet·sya pohoronili," she murmured as she levered it back into the cupboard - and paused. Slowly, her brow furrowed, and she narrowed her eyes. What she'd learned meant that after the incident she didn't remember, he'd been avoiding her over this issue for..
"Three weeks?"
The cupboard door shut with a thump.
