She studied him carefully, a curious look on her face as she probably was attempting to recall the events of the night in question. Apparently she had done so, because she immediately burst out laughing again. "A dream?" Seriously? He really thought it was?! Man, was she good! "You really think this is a dream? Hee, Lucas you're so funny."
She fell into another giggle fit at the mention of the word 'drunk.' It was such a funny word... "I can't be drunk, I don't drink! Unless.." She gasped suddenly, realization dawning on her after Lucas had tried to impress the point on her how long ago now? "You gave me alcohol! It was that drink, wasn'it? Why didn't you say it had booze in it?" She hiccuped, then reached up to rub one eye. "And what d'you mean, how?" Another giggle fit ensued as she realized the ever popular taunt among small children: I know something you don't know. "'Cuz it's so easy to mix you up!" If he didn't get it on his own, she would just have to continue teasing and going around in circles. That was so much more fun!

"What? What other explanation have you got?" Well, the other explanation was that it wasn't a dream, of course, but that was far too simple and boring. Dreams were meant to be extravagant, after all, and so the explanations should be extravagant too!
"You thought it was a virgin? I was watching Rambo! Rambo's not the kind of movie that you watch with a virgin drink." Or with bacon, if alcohol was sadly unobtainable at the time of viewing. "Yes, it was alcoholic. Very alcoholic. Like, the average individual doesn't need more than one of them in a week alcoholic." And she'd downed two of them within a couple hours.
And anyway, mix up? What was that supposed to mean? "You say that as if I'm more one than one person."

"Okay then Mr. Smartypants, when'd you fall asleep then?" She countered with a sly drunken grin. She would have attempted to put her hands on her hips had she actually been, you know, upright.
Wait, who was a virgin? "Rambo's a virgin? Wha--? Oh! No, I'm not--" Ohhh, the drink. Another fit of the giggles. "Well why didn't you say it was before? I don't drink 'cuz I get drunk really fast," the clearly drunk woman said informatively, nodding her head as if to affirm this statement.
"Aww, I didn't think you'd get it so fast!" And teasing was so much fun, too..!

"During the movie," was his automatic reply. Doing absolutely nothing after doing lots of things all the time must have lulled him into a slumber. That was the most rational explanation.
Her confusion elicited several moments of laughter before he could find words to reply to her. "I think you've made that much obvious," he grinned. When she spoke again, however, all traces of laughter fell from his voice and all smiles from his voice. The expression that remained was bordering on disapproval.
"Don't say unnecessary things," he warned.

All three of his statements made her fall into another fit of giggles, causing her to nearly fall off the couch for the second time. Thankfully she didn't. After she managed to calm down her giggling, she rubbed an eye again, cheeks still unmistakably pink. "Oh, Luke, there you are! When'd you get here?" He must've snuck up on her! ...but wait, wasn't she on his lap? Whoops..
She moved slightly to try and get up but a sudden yawn overtook her, and she covered her mouth with one hand. Yawning seemed to make her completely forget all about getting up, but she knew she was about to do something. Her brows furrowed as she frowned, trying to think. "What was I gonna do..?" As if Luke would know, he wasn't a mind reader! ..crap. "I think 'm drunk.." But how did she get drunk if she didn't drink? Wasn't Lucas saying something about that earlier...? Her head hurt too much to remember.

"I'm everywhere Lucas is," he said, ignoring each of her giggle fits. She had made herself so completely vulnerable; it was graceless, bordering on irritating. She lacked each of the good qualities that had come to mind when they spoke in the gym. It was completely frustrating.
"You were going to sleep." It was more of a suggestion than an absolute, but how would she know the difference? She had no idea what was going on around her. Forget thirty-three and three-quarters, the number of opportunities he had to kill her were entering triple digits. Not that he would, but the fact that such a chance existed was infuriating enough.

She paused to consider this statement, brows furrowed. Ohh yeah... He always did seem to be everywhere Lucas was, right? Maybe. She thought so, anyway, but her head was starting to swim and it hurt to think.
"I was?" The still drunken woman asked, frowning skeptically, a confused look on her face. She was almost certain she'd been about to do... something. Was it sleep? She couldn't remember, but her head was hurting and maybe sleep was good. It was hard to think when her head felt like it was underwater.
She thought she'd replied in the affirmative but it was only that - a reply to his statement that remained in her head - but regardless she attempted to carry it out. It took a bit of effort to sit up, and almost immediately her head swam through raging rapids and she frowned at the feeling, reaching up to put a hand on the side of her head with a small grunt. It would hurt a hell of a lot more if she hadn't been so drunk, which meant she would definitely feel it in the morning. Not that she realized this, of course.

"Yes." His legs finally freed of the woman who insisted on laying in his lap, he stood and assessed her condition. "...Your roommate is that Lennyka woman, correct?" Lucas had visited Lennyka before, and so Luke had a good idea of where Claire's room was.

"No, it's --" Oh, wait, that was at Galactic, nevermind. After a short pause, she instinctively nodded her head, though didn't feel her head move for a good few seconds after the action had already happened. Weird... "Yeah, 's Len," she managed to answer. Why did her head feel so weird...? She couldn't help leaning against the arm of the couch while she held her head in her hands, still swimming and threatening to carry her away in the current and make her fall over. "I think she's crazy," the drunk woman added in regards to her roommate, thinking back on the strange girl's fascination with thinking books were alive.
Crazy, crazy - why was everyone crazy?
Apparently 'everyone' meant 'two people' or perhaps three, if she included herself. Which she didn't, of course.
"Sorry," she thought to add after a moment, though the reason why she said it wasn't easily apparent. It might've been to apologize for falling on him, for getting drunk in the first place, or something else entirely.

"No helping the occasional crazy person." They tended to crop up from time to time. Or so the only legitimately crazy person had observed.
Luke wasn't a terribly kind individual, let alone sympathetic, so the feeling brought about by the sudden apology was... strange. He wasn't exactly sure what it was, or how to describe it, but it left him much less irritable than he had been. "There's nothing to apologize for." Well, there was, but that was just part of that weird, unnameable feeling. "Can you stand?" No, she probably couldn't. And even if she could, he doubted she wanted to publicly stumble her way back to her room. Without little more warning than a sigh, he moved to scoop her up.

That was very true, crazy people were everywhere. Everywhere. She had to room with one, so she knew.
Claire managed a sleepy 'mhmm' in protest at his statement of apologies, knowing that she should be apologizing for at least something but her head didn't want to cooperate long enough to tell her exactly what. Maybe she'd remember in the morning what she should apologize for? Yes, probably.
Her mouth opened to reply but before she could, the drunk woman suddenly found herself in Luke's arms, and made a rather undignified squeak of surprise. What was she going to say? She couldn't remember, something about standing, but she didn't have to worry about that anymore. Not that she was really worrying about anything at the moment. So she decided to resign herself to silence, but since neither normal Claire nor Drunk Claire nor Dream Claire were used to being carried by a person since the age of five, the suddenness at being picked up made her instinctively lean against him, as if she could fall at any moment if she was too far away.

Claire's form seemed much smaller once cradled in Luke's arms, even more so when she leaned into him for support. He stood in a momentary pensive silence before adjusting himself to move and starting forward, moving carefully to avoid jostling his charge unnecessarily. In this manner he picked his way out of the rec room and down the hall, heading for the grunt dormitories.
"I hope you'll ask what's in a drink before you accept it next time," he said, his tone low.

Drunk as she was, Claire realized that being carried, especially in such a way, was very strange and foreign to her. What energy she had earlier was spent on laughter and giggles, so instead of worrying about being dropped or how odd it was to be carried like this, she merely yawned and blinked sleepily. Another "mmh" escaped her, a sound of what could only be agreement considering the circumstances.
Despite not really actively worrying about whether or not she would fall, even though her head was still doing laps through raging waters, her body acted instinctively and she circled an arm around the back of his neck and a shoulder to help move some of her weight from his arms. "I hate drinking," she muttered with a sigh, leaning her head on his shoulder.

Had she been more aware, Luke would have accused Claire of teasing him again. As it was, though, he did his best to remain stone-faced even with an arm around his neck. He might have been blushing again, but she would never know even if he were, or at least she wouldn't remember. Or so he would have hoped, were he aware of the color of his face.
"That's good," he said quietly. "Drinking is a senseless practice." It only led to foolishness, and folly to defenselessness, and defenselessness to defeat. It wasn't entirely her fault, though, so he dropped the thought.
He frowned slightly at the door on arriving at Claire's room. He kicked it with the toe of his shoe a few times as if to knock. No reply. Well, it was early in the evening; most of the Rockets were still on duty. Luke balanced himself carefully and maneuvered his foot to turn the doorknob, stumbling forward slightly when it opened. He hazarded a guess that the bed less completely covered in books was Claire's and moved to set her on the mattress.

If only she had been more aware and not quite as inebriated, she might have noticed and teased him for the color of his cheeks. As it was, though, she wasn't, and had actually begun to doze off. His quiet comments fell on deaf sleeping ears, though when he opened the door and stumbled slightly it seemed to jolt her awake, and she instinctively tensed her arm around his neck and lifted her head a bit.
Nope, it was still swimming, and so she laid it back down on his shoulder.
She was more aware, however, and when he moved to set her down on her bed, she let him go and nearly fell over as soon as she was on the bed. Somehow she managed to right herself though, even though her body was yelling at her to lay down and go to sleep, and she raised a hand to run her fingers through her hair, though the purpose of such an action was to run them over her head. Why did it feel so strange? "Thank you Luke," she murmured before yawning again, and even Drunk Claire knew to try and cover her mouth while yawning, though she had yet to lay down.
Zeus opened one sleepy green eye, then huffed when he realized he'd have to give up his comfy spot near her pillow. He got up, stretched, then hopped down and crawled beneath the bed instead. At least he had a nice blanket under there to snuggle up and fall asleep in.
