Able smiled. “Yes it is a bit strange perhaps we are fated to be good friends.” Or perhaps more, but time will tell for that cute little vixen. Chuckling Able looked the way Ryari had indicated. Well that way is several wild fruit trees and some editable roots like potatoes. That’s good.. Those potatoes might be small but they should keep a while. The fruit should be ready even if the potatoes aren’t. “That looks like a good way to go.” Winking Able took off down a deer trail.

She smiled over at him. He was rather cute the way he talked and she enjoyed talking with him. She then found herself blushing. It would be rude to think of him more then just a friend. After all... they had just met. What was she thinking? Oh... but he was cute... and when he said fated she felt her stomach do a flip.
"Fated? You... you really think so?" She blushed. "Oh I hope so... its been a long time since I have had... friends..." She glanced up at him with a blush. "Oh right..." She smiled and followed him down the trail humming.

Keeping his pace Able wondered over Ryari’s words. She seemed so isolated. He supposed that he wasn’t much better. Sill normally he didn’t worry about being lonely. Meeting Ryari made him realize just how quite the forest really was with no one to talk to, no one to play with, no one to eat with. It was the little things that made a place home. Perhaps even if Ryari left she might come back and visit? He didn’t want to say anything but he rather hoped she would. The smell of the forest seeped up to his nose. It would rain later. “You know you’re welcome anytime. ”

Ryari smiled as she looked over at Able. She was having a rather good time making her way through the forest with him. She stopped and sniffed the air a little. She then smiled and turned to Able excitedly.
"Able... I think I found something. Over here!" She wagged her tail excited. "I think I found some good food." She looked down at some roots and some kind of plant next to it. "Hm?" She then glanced over at him when he mentioned she was welcome any time. "Thank you." She smiled. "That makes me happy."

Able stopped when Ryari called him. He trotted over curious to see what she had discovered. He blinked and stared at the roots. “mm I though these were further out still.. Why did one start growing here?”
He leaned down sniffed the plant experimentally and then gently nibbled a leaf. It was the same kind he grew up with and knew and not some mutation. Leaning back he looked at Ryari and grinned. “Well it’s not growing in the right spot but this is definitely edible.” He started digging at the plant to expose the roots not commenting on the vixen’s thanking him. It was embarrassing. Able was blushing a bit.

"Oh... do they not normally grow here?" She tilted her head to the side as she looked at the plant. "Im not familiar with this area so I don't really know where things grow." She gave a nervous chuckle. "Well at lest we can eat it." She smiled then looked over to her left. "I could look around to se if there are more anywhere else around here..." She looked back at him. "Would that be a good idea or should We go together?"

Able shook his head slowly. “No normally they grow where there is more light reaching them.” He looked back and resisted the urge to pat her with his dirty paws. “No need to be nervous it’s alright. Yes we should take a look and see if there are anymore around here. It would be nice to stock up on some of them now.” He looked down at his paws that were filthy dirty as he pulled out the root. Then he looked back at Ryrai shyly. “If that’s aright with you I’d like to search with you.”

She nodded. That only made sense. Of course they grew where there was light. Thats what plants needed to survive. Light. She made a funny face when she thought about it. If that was the cause... then... wouldn't that make this plant some where special? Since it didn't grow where there was that much sun light? She looked over at Able. She should ask him. He seemed to know a bit more about this they she did. She smiled.
"Hey Able... if they usually grow where there is a lot of sun... wouldn't that mean that this one... is kinda special? Because it didn't grow where there was a lot of sun?" She titled her head to the side. "Ok." She smiled in response to his answer about looked for more. "Sounds good to me. I would love to continue searching with you."

“It could be or this little one could have dropped as a seed by a bird and is doomed to die out here in the shade.” Hitting the spot in the roots he wanted he dug out a few of the roots and placed them off to the side. Then he took his time and shoved the extra dirt back over the exposed remaining roots of the plant. There was no reason to dig up the entire plant when the tastiest part of it was just the thicker bulges in the roots.
Able blushed when she mentioned searching with him. She really was such a sweet and kind vixen. Did she even know what she sounded like? Able almost hoped not because if she knew how cute she was then maybe she’d know she was the kind of girl that could get any male she wanted.. then she wouldn’t want to come back to his woods.

"Oh of course... I forgot about birds and how they can some times drop things..." She looked over at the hole he had dug up. "Its unfortunate for this one though..." She frowned. "I wonder how much longer it could have gone without the proper sun..." She looked up at him. "I just realized something... shouldn't we have something like a bag to carry all the things that we find?" She gave him a curious look. "I don't know how many we can carry with out something to put them in..."

Able nodded to Ryari’s words. “Well if we find any more like this plant here we can just not pick it and check on it daily. Then were can wait and see how long it could last.” He looked at Ryari blankly for a moment before mentally cursing himself. Of course he couldn’t carry enough for two on his own. He wasn’t even used to have to think about enough for two, much less have the means to handle gathering food for two. “You’re absolutely right. I ah.. uh.. didn’t think about that.” He looked down at the root he dug up. “If we get more vines we can make a net like before and drag more food in it?”

Ryari smiled. "Really? That sounds good. Could we do that?" She looked over at him. "Maybe we could come out here with some water somehow?" She then gave a funny look. "Oh... but I don't know how we would be able to do that..." She then chuckled when he mentioned about how he didn't think about gathering enough for them. "Thats ok... Oh! Just like we did with the fish!" her tail wagged. "Of course! I don't know why I didn't think about that."

Smiling ruefully Able chuckled weakly when Ryari giggled. “Well I didn’t even think about carrying enough for two so it’s no big deal that you didn’t remember the fish. After all between the two of us we have things covered. As for watering the plant.. I think we can come up with something later. Let’s just locate a few of the plants for now. And of course making a net for food.” He started looking around for ground vines to start making another net.

"Ok." She smiled as her tail wagged. "I'm sure we can find some vines around here some where." She moved her head around looking for the vines they could use as well. She found a few on the ground and walked over the them. She grabbed them with her teeth then pulled hard. They came out of the ground easily then walked over to Able and dropped them in front of him. "Are these good enough?"

Inspecting the vines carefully Able tugged on them a bit to test their strength. The vines were a bit thicker than the ones they had used before for the fishing net, but that was alright. After all with this they could make the net with a slightly looser weave so it wouldn’t take as long and they still wouldn’t lose any food hauling it. “Certainly this will work out just fine. Care to help me with the weaving?” It would take quite a while if only one of them worked on it with only their paws and mouth to weave with.
