She thought for a moment. "Well... I don't know... not really maybe we could coax one out to talk to us?" She walked along wondering what one would say to the tiny soquili. What if it tried to rest on her flower? Several things rolled around in her mind as she thought about all of this. Things like, 'How do you talk to a flutter?' and 'What if they didn't find any this time? Would he laugh at her?' Still she smiled as she thought. It was one of the few times she'd willingly decided to go even further from the safe familiarity of her herd lands.

Her response still had him wondering how something so tiny would be coaxed to speak to something as large as them. After a moment of contemplation Roman realized he was actually buying in to this fairy tale. How could there possibly be things like horses with fins and butterfly wings? Even though he couldn’t believe the reality of these things he still enjoyed being out and about, his mind being moved from his past. “Well Primrose, I will leave the trapping to you.” He said with a smile. This was her fairy tale; she should be the one in charge.

She frowned slightly at his wording. Trapping made it sound like they had ill intent towards the little soquili. Such was far from her mind she just wanted to lure it out and have a nice chat was all. Shaking her head some, she walked on. She wasn't sure if this was the way to the open area or not but she did know there just had to be at least a small chance that a soquili could have wings like a butterfly... after all.. Roman had wings like a bird...

Roman watches as Bri slipped into silent contemplation and began wondering what exactly she was thinking about. Was she envisioning this mythical being they were searching for? Or was something else in her thoughts? He figured it was the mythical being that occupied her thoughts and cracked a small yet cocky grin. “What types of questions will you ask it?” He felt slightly foolish about imagining they would actually find this thing but figured it would be fun to try. It was better than wasting his day walking or doing other such mundane tasks. The water on his feathers had already dried but he spread his wings out just a little to allow for more air circulation. “I personally would like to know how something became so small.”

"I think.. I'd like to know how it keeps such delicate wings from shredding in the wind..." She nodded it was a legit question. Something with bug like wings.. she imagined it had to be small to fly.. but.. how did it find others like it?? Was there like.. a colony of them??

Closing his eyes Roman attempted to picture exactly what a horse with the wings of a butterfly would look like. In all of his many travels he hadn’t seen one such creature so it was rather hard for him to see. Even so, he knew how fragile a butterfly’s wings were seeing as he had stepped on one once and its wings all but fell to pieces. It was an accident mind you. With a sigh he answered her in the only logical way he knew how. “Perhaps they stay out of heavy wind currents so as not to damage their fragile wings.” At this he spread his own wings out momentarily. There had been a time or two when he had almost had his wings torn to bits due to strong air currents so he knew all too well the danger involved with flight.

"You're probably right... Do you think that they really can be big if they want to??? How do you suppose they shrink down any ways?? Magic??" She blinked a few times as she stepped out from the tree line and into an open area.

Magic? Even he had to admit they were stepping into a realm of pure ridiculousness. There was no such thing as magic in this world. How could there be? With all the evils inhabiting it why would anything mystical happen here. “Perhaps.” He mumbled. She was excited about this and the last thing he wished to do was to go on some tirade about how awful this world was and what little wonders it held. Shaking the thoughts from his mind he looked skyward at the beaming sun. “What do you think they eat?” A question in a safe zone to his way of thinking.

She actually stopped to think about this for a moment. What did little creatures the size of a butterfly eat? Well.. bees produced honey from the pollen of flowers.. perhaps they did something similar? Humming birds and butterflies sustained themselves off of the nectar they got from flowers... maybe.. "Nectar?" She thought this out loud without much meaning too. It nearly took her by surprise that she'd spoke at all with how she'd been thinking. Nodding some, she looked back at him with a smile. "I think maybe they eat nectar.. after all.. I hear it's sweet and delicious. Besides.. there are other animals in this world that survive off of it.. so why wouldn't a soquili who looks like a butterfly eat what the butterflies eat?"

Roman chuckled at the thought of a Soquili with butterfly wings swooping in and attempting to drink nectar from a flower. He even began wondering what would happen if the flower were to swallow the tiny thing up. Just to keep the conversation flowing and the rather entertaining images going in his head he asked yet another question. “Where would you live if you were that small? It doesn’t seem like being in an open field would be a very smart idea.” With that he remembered all of the times when he and his brother had been forced to hide out somewhere secluded while their father took off to do whatever it was he had done. A frown spread across his maw and he turned his eyes to the ground, how dearly he missed Cottus.

"well.. if I were really that small wouldn't you think I'd hide easier in the open? I mean think about it.. under the facade of a butterfly I could perch on your back and you'd never see me... so what better way than to hide in the open?" She chuckled some at the thought of being able to just hide by blending into her surroundings in the open.

Bri’s description had him laughing and he felt relieved after thinking about Cottus. “I wouldn’t feel safe in the open if I were that small.” He began. “What if a stray hoof were to come along and crush me? Or what if I did land on someone’s back and they suddenly decided to roll over. The world is a dangerous place and even more so for the smaller creatures.”

"I suppose you're right.. but think how different the world would look being that small! Flowers would look like trees!" She giggled and kicked her hind end up, trouncing off in a half lope half hop sort of gate. She had a bounce about her that was just.. her full of confidence having fun and clearly enjoying the moment.

Her attitude had him smiling and following along regardless of how ridiculous he had been feeling. Briallan was the first mare he had casually hung out with since Athela and he enjoyed the free and happy feeling it gave him to get out. “Then what would trees look like Primrose?” He asked, encouraging her to continue fantasizing.

She thought some and looked a tree over. "Hmm... I suppose maybe they'd seem like mountains and mountains would seem like a whole other world!" Grinning wide, she nodded and slowed down to a trot looking around. They'd reached the field with all it's plants. "Where do you think we should start looking in here?"
