Remarkably, Ever obeyed him, looking a little stunned around the edges as he sank down to sit in his chair. Dark eyes tracked Zac across the room as he went to purchase, and by the time he came back, Ever had managed to regain some aplomb: his usual too-wide smile, a slumped posture that made it look more like Zac was obeying him than vice versa.
"Big allowance, I'm guessing?" Was that better? He raised an eyebrow with the question.

That actually earned him an amused look. "...Something like that." He replied and then his face went a bit sad and distant. "... saved a lot... for someone not here. Doesn't matter." He pushed away the thought so vehemently that you could almost see him jam it away physically. He stopped suddenly and frowned thoughtful, then announced in shocked tones. "Your...watching ME!" He sounded somewhere between affronted and interested, more affronted really in that he actually leaned back and gripped the edges of the table to stare at the 'offending party'.

"You're adorable." Ever blinked at him and his smile widened, unapologetic, his shoulders rolling as he reached out to nab the food Zac had brought him: tucking it carefully into the top of his bag. As he worked, Zac could get a good glimpse at some of his scattering of belongings: boxers, clothing, several heavy black books. One of them edged with gold. He shuffled things around somewhat carelessly and put the sandwich away.
"Seem kinda angry all the time, though. You need to relax..." He rolled one hand at that, almost carelessly.

He blinked again, wide eyed as he processed the words... adorable...and angry. "I am -NOT-...adorable!" he answered huffily. "And I am -not- angry all the time I..." he stopped himself flushing bright in the cheeks realizing that he was, in fact...angry when saying that. "Well of course I'm irritated now that you said -that-" he added defensively.

"Uh huh." There was a laugh behind it, his head tipping up from his work to consider Zac again. All the food he could store away for later was now wrapped up in a mostly-clean shirt, someplace where it hopefully wouldn't get squished by a book. He let his bag slide slowly, gently, back down onto the floor.
"I find in general that the anger isn't worth it. It means someone else is winning, right?" And this time, it was Ever. He shook his head.

"They usually -are-" He shot back and folded his arms. "The thermos is yours too... its not -awesome- but it's portable." He leaned back hard enough against the back of the seat that he made it creak a little. "So did you win or loose Zen Master Ever..." He asked dryly...and added again more quietly... not adorable...

Ever blinked at that, looking to the thermos, his head tilted to the side, and then he set about pouring his tea into that, instead. He could fill it again. More hot water, more tea, it could last him a few hours, and maybe stay warm for most of that...
"Oh, well, I generally lose." But he smiled as he said it, not terribly concerned, rolling one shoulder in a quick shrug. "But I feel pretty good about it right this second."
He screwed the lid back on and hissed out a sigh, the smile fading out to something crooked and sardonic. "Anyway, you lose enough and it stops mattering. I suspect you're more used to winning, so..."

Zac frowned deeply, when he got older those frowns would surely be marked in ridges between his brows, maybe far too early for his age just because the frowns were so well practiced both in thought and real fury. He did not like people seeing into him, not clearly.. it made him feel vulnerable and exposed, no surprise there perhaps. "I'd say the win loose score is about even but I'm working on it." He replied trying to sound more even toned but it just made his voice sound more strung out. He tapped his fingers on the table and made a visible effort to relax, he was trying to 'win' the 'angry' comment and wasn't getting very far.

"Uh huh." There was a flash of amusement again, his hands wrapping around the tea still in his cup; Ever downed it quickly and then pushed himself up to stand again. He dipped a hand into his pocket for his gloves, reached for his coat, shaking his head at Zac.
"I'm getting out of here before you figure that one out." The bag, too: no chance he'd leave that behind. Plus it was full of food.
"And before you decide you want something out of me." He could, at least, be honest.

"You were too late to dodge the second bullet the moment you followed me in here!" He shot back and then tried to smother the moment of uncertainty when he wondered how far 'adorable' went and if it sounded like one of those god awful 'flirtations' that some of the people in the Dormitories came up with. "... Never mind... see you around 'Impediment'." He said standing up as well and gathering up what litter was left behind to toss into a garbage can. He did not say he would see him around though, he wasn't -positive- he wanted to after the all too accurate comments that had just been made about him. e
