He felt warmer beside her than she'd remembered him to be. Was he feverish?? Lifting her head one more, she looked him over then nosed him some around his ears. He was starting to burn up, not a good sign. What did she do now? Well, leaving his side wouldn't do much good for him.. in fact it would likely do worse for him. She peered down at him as he slept. But.. how... adorable he looked all vulnerable laying sleeping there beside her. She caught her thoughts and blushed a bit. The blush soon faded though, with the sounds of the bear's sputtering and return.
She was hauling behind her a basket with dry grass, berries, and a heap of snow. Stopping she looked at bri and then the basket. "Any change?" She sat on her rear and just watched quietly.
She shook her head. "Only thing that's changed is that he's developed a fever..." She sighed some and looked at the basket. "He needs something to drink.. drag that over here maybe we can get the snow to melt here i one of the dips in the rocky floor..."

Snow... he smelled snow... cold. He wanted cold...to balance the hot. The warm was not but the hot... he made a small almost whimper in his sleep, tongue sticking to his teeth, parched. Snow. When sick, he always wanted snow and cold. They were comforts, they were cool familiars, and they were what he craved. Snow... he could smell it. He tried to force his eyes open, to wake, but couldn't quite.

When the basket got closer, she nosed a bit of the snow into a near by divot in the rock so that it could melt. The whimpers only made her more determined to help him get better. After she was done filling the divot, she nosed some snow out close to his head. Her nose felt a bit numb now, cold, and numb. Wiggling her nose, she attempted to get some feeling back into it. Before she could catch herself, she stuck her cold nose against his neck. the warmth felt so nice against it, and brought some feeling back too.
Magic stepped back and mused to herself how silly this mare looked fretting over this sick stallion. She was in so many ways, her mothers daughter but she wouldn't mention that to Briallan.

The cold against his neck brought him awake at once, and the first thing he was aware of was the snow before him. He breathed in deeply then coughed as some snow went up his nose.Once he could breathe again, he took what was left of the snow into his mouth and held it there until it had gotten to be little more then warm water, reluctantly he swallowed it, and looked around, bleary eyed, for more snow.

Blinking, she kicked herself mentally. "I'm so sorry.. I didn't mean to.. Just my nose was numb from moving the snow around..." Her voice went from gentle to gradually getting softer and softer till the last of her apology just trailed off into an inaudible tone. Closing her eyes, she sighed some and looked to magic.
Magic couldn't help but to fall over backwards with laughter. "That cold nose gets you in the morning doesn't it Mr lover boy? Not a very good lover boy though.. you're sick and courting my mistress's daughter here.. kept her out all night too...I had to come find her." She snorted and got to her fuzzy feet, staring at him.
At magic bluntly assuming he was her lover for the night she paled and flushed a deep scarlet. "M-Magic! Stop it!" She consciously buried her face into his neck and blushed ever more.

So....very...confused.... What? None of what the shadow was saying made any sense. Did shadows even talk? But there was warm again, and that was good. He drank the snow melt. A little dirty but good too. He smelled the food, but... ACHOO! He blinked at the spot where he had sneezed, where the food had been.... where it wasn't now. Odd. Closing his eyes, because keeping them open was too much work, he decided that eating wasn't such a great idea anyhow. The warm was nice, he just wished he could take the warm outside into the cold and have both. He didn't like the hot.

"Pfft.. look she's blushing! Bri.. I've never seen you blush on top of your natural markings." She mused and watched the stallion close his eyes once more. "And he's down for the count once more... not even going to attempt to clarify or straighten things out it would seem my assumptions were right then."
"Magic.. You're talking too much, he's not feeling to well just.... be still or I'll tie you to Florian so you can hear her endless babble..." Sighing, she tried to situate him a bit more comfortably. "Right now.. he just needs sleep.. and some of that bark to dull the pain.. go make yourself usefull and get some herbs.."

Pachu'a shifted around in his sleep as she did. He couldn't escape the hot, couldn't reach the cold, so his body instinctively clung to the warm. He heard nothing of what they were saying and his nose was now so stuffed that he couldn't even smell the snow. He fled past the dreams into a sort of nothingness, and just floated there, warm and hot both.

She nudged him lightly with her nose. "I know you want to sleep.. but you really need to get something in your system. Common.. you can get some sleep after you've filled your stomach." Sighing, she pulled the rest of the food closer and nosed it out from under what was left of the snow. "Common.. just a little and I'll let you sleep..."

Another small almost whimper like sound as he tried to stay asleep. There was no pain when he was asleep, nothing hurt. Just hot, nice warmth, dryness, and a longing for the cold.

Grumbling some, she nudged him again. "Come on.. eat.. food... then you can sleep.." She nipped him lightly. One way or another she was going to get him awake long enough to eat something. "Up and at it before i start to mean business.."

The n** brought him back to awareness reluctantly. Hot... he was so hot.... He opened bleary eyes and tried to look around.

"Don't fuss... just eat... it's by your head..." She sighed and reached for what was left of the snow, taking a mouthful and letting it melt before swallowing it. She'd taken in something to hydrate herself a but. Looking after him was proving to be tiring but she wasn't going to leave him be on his own. Yawning, she rested her head down on the ground. if he ate now it was on him... if not she surely knew she couldn't force him.

He blinked a few more times blearily, and looked down at her, seeing her laying there. something tugged at his mind, somewhere between a thought and a memory. What... right... she's sick. He had to take care of her. He tried to push himself to his feet, shaking from the exertion.

Magic looked at him and narrowed her eye. "Lay back down before you hurt yourself.. you're running a fever... Now down!" She peered at him from the shadows as she spoke.
Magic's voice caused her to open her eyes and lift her heat to look around. Huffing a sigh, she shook her head. "Look you're sick now lie down please and eat something.. there's still some snow in the basket there..." She watched him cautiously. If he made for the exit, she hoped magic would get in his way.
