Atticus had no idea if Blade had family. He knew the boy usually stayed around during the off season... So he supposed not.
Though, it seemed Neko had ahold of it.. And the paramedics had ahold of Blade.
Retiring back to his chair, he picked up the object he'd pulled from his latest patient with curiosity. What kind of s**t storm had that boy gotten himself into?
Riyo shook her head at Neko's request, immediately following Blade out on the gurney. The girl would go as far as she was allowed... And even then she might walk herself to the hospital to visit him. She knew how lonely those rooms were... She'd been there herself many times...

It wasn't easy to see much while strapped to the gurney but he managed to catch a glimpse of Riyo's blonde hair nearby. Blade couldn't help but feel a little bit of relief to know that she wanted to come along. The feeling was brief as he found his mind slipping once more.
"You coming along?" the one medic asked the girl as they hurried to the ambulance. There was room and as long as she didn't get in the way while they worked she was welcome aboard.
Once everyone was on and secure, the medics worked at getting the bleeding to stop so they could stitch up the wound on the way to the emergency room. The black tinge had spread a little since the dagger was removed, but aside from that the cut in general didn't seem to have change at all.
The medics were speaking to one another, giving orders on what to do and giving updates. None of it was registering with the thief at this point. In fact, the pain itself seemed to have just vanished altogether. Having closed his eyes a few moments before, everything just seemed to go blank at once.
"s**t. Fire up the defibrillator!" ordered one of the medics. The other was quick to oblige. It was going to be tricky, with the wound in the chest, but they were going to try at least.
"Clear!"
Blade gave a jolt, but nothing else.
"One more. Come on. Clear!"
Again another jerk, but a weak groan came from him this time. It worked to jumpstart his heart once more.

Once Neko was done on the phone he put it away watching as they wheeled Blade out of Atticus' apartment. The doctor seemed to be eying the dagger Blade had previously had stuck in his chest. It was a rather wicked looking knife, sharp and gleaming white, looking more like a fang than anything made of steel. "That's a crazy looking blade." Neko commented stepping a bit closer to have a look. He wouldn't linger long. He would head to the hospital to get an update and eventually take Riyo home. Looked like their little training day would have to be delayed for later.
"I wonder who the hell the kid pissed off," Though Neko honestly had a good guess but he couldn't imagine the scientist being so forward as to stab someone....nor that he would be able to sneak up on Blade for that matter. He wasn't entirely sure what the kid was capable of but he was certain he could outrun Suto. Of course, it could always be someone else he supposed. He had heard tale that Blade wasn't the most...upstanding citizen.

Riyo immediately nodded as the ride was offered to her, climbing in and reserving herself the place that was the least inconvenient.
The whole scenario surprisingly scared her a little. Men shouting, machines beeping, and Blade just laying there...
Until he stopped moving.
Riyo's hands immediately covered her mouth, eyes wide with fear. He was dying. Oh Christ he was dying and she'd never see him again.
Luckily, the paramedics had him back and breathing with the last jolt. "Goddamnit Blade, don't do that!" she said louder than she'd meant to, biting her lip and scooting farther back into the corner.
"It's pretty scary looking." Atticus agreed, the question Neko asked also on his mind. "Whoever it was just lost a nice knife."

"Don't worry ma'am, we're doing everything we can to not lose him," one of the medics said to Riyo after her little outburst. It had to be rough on the girl for sure for her friend to be in this state.
Below the surface, Blade's body was fighting back against the toxins that had been put into his blood by the dagger. Between that and the medic's efforts, he was finally being pulled back from the brink of death, but he was still fairly close to the edge.
Though breathing again, his eyes were still closed for the time being. He heard Riyo's words, but they just sorta went right through him without a great deal of meaning.
The bleeding finally stopped so the paramedics were working on patching him back up. Right about then, they arrived in the ER and were working on getting him into a room.
"Alright, we need to work with him a little more till he stabilizes, but we'll let you know when he's set to take visitors. Just hang tight ok? We'll take care of him," the man told Riyo in an attempt to reassure her as his colleagues took Blade off.
Time went on and eventually one of the hospital staff had come out to the lobby to let the girl know she was allowed to enter now if she so chose.
The thief was drifting in and out of consciousness as he layed there in the hospital room. He was still rather weak from the whole ordeal, but he wasn't in a state where he was about to die any longer.

Neko wasn't sure what to make of the knife but he left it with Atticus for the time being. "I'm going to go to the hospital and check up on the kid and keep Hakim posted. I'll umm..." He looked to the bloody mess that had been trailed in across the floor and the large stains on Atticus' couch. "I'll....send someone else...to help clean this up." Because he sure as hell wasn't going to clean it up himself.
Leaving the apartment Neko made his way to the school parking lot where he kept his car parked the majority of the year. There wasn't much of a path to drive up to the house so this worked out just fine. Climbing into the driver's seat he was off and arrived at the hospital a while later. Once inside he went to the desk right off the bat to get an update and while what he heard was a little unsettling he was glad to know Blade was still kicking at least. No need to worry about nearly dying unless he had already kicked the bucket.
Finding out the room number Neko started to make his way there keeping an eye out for Riyo in the mean time. He hadn't seen her come back to the apartment so he could only imagine they let her ride in the ambulance.

Riyo had honestly never thought she'd have to sit in a waiting room to hear about somebody else's condition. There had been times when she'd imagined what it was like... To be kept in the worst suspense of a lifetime.
Even imagining it, she hadn't gotten close to the real thing.
People watching was a great way to pass time... But also depressing. She saw people crying, people being reunited with their loved ones... People being told their loved ones were gone... A humbling experience, she supposed.
So when the nurse finally came in and told her she could visit, Riyo was out as fast as she could possibly be.
"Blade?" Riyo called as she popped her head in. She didn't wait for a reply to snatch up a seat and place it next to the hospital bed. She thought about asking him how he felt... But it was sort of obvious. "Are you gonna be alright?" Was a better question, she thought.

A little before Riyo had arrived, Blade had managed to wake up. Seeing how out of it he was earlier, it took him a few moments to realize he was in a hospital room now. As he glanced around, his attention shifted towards the door as he heard his name.
To an extent he was surprised to see her here, even if he did vaguely recall seeing her follow the paramedics at Atticus's place. Smiling faintly at her, he went to sit up but the sharp pain that spiked where he got stabbed kept him down for now. Letting out a breath as he waited for it to ease down, he nodded slowly.
"Heh, yeah. You won't be getting rid of me just yet," he said before glancing away briefly. The thief wasn't talking too loudly, likely due to having lost so much blood. "Sorry... if I worried you there.."
It wasn't often that it happened, but he was able to see that she had been concerned earlier for sure.
"A-and thanks.. for staying by.."

It didn't take Neko long to find the hospital room where Blade was supposed to be. Giving a short knock he entered, looking to the thief curiously. "Well, it seems you're still alive." It sounded like he was trying to make a joke but it didn't come off to well. This year seemed to be a popular one for him to find kids in a nearly fatal beaten state....he wasn't liking the trend. Showing concern wasn't a big thing of his but an expression that could mildly pass as worried was on his face.
Not bothering with the how do you feel bullshit since Blade no doubt felt like s**t, Neko moved on to the more important questions. "So....who did this?"

Riyo immediately shook her head at his apology. "It's not like I have many people to worry about, so you don't have to apologize."
Before she could get out a 'you're welcome' or something of the sort, Neko walked in and started immediately questioning the boy. "Don't you think you should let him rest before drilling him with questions?" Riyo tried to ask in a manner that didn't sound too defensive.

There was a faint smile there, but it quickly went away as Neko had come on in and jumped right to business. While he was tired, he supposed he should go ahead and get out what he knew. There wasn't a whole lot to say. Though, Riyo's words were appreciated.
"I don't really know," he said quietly, "The guy had a mask on, I couldn't even see his eyes... But he had a grey wolf tail and used ice magic."
Letting out a sigh, he shifted on the hospital bed some, recalling the words the guy had said to him right after sticking him with the dagger. No doubt it was the crappiest Christmas 'present' the thief had ever received.

Neko frowned a bit looking at Riyo. While it would have been nice to let Blade rest they needed to know what they were up against....an attack had happened on school grounds. It was hard to say if the attacker had only Blade in mind or intended to go after the students picking them off one by one. "I would wait, but who's to say if this guy will attack again or not."
Turning to Blade Neko took in the information, though there wasn't a lot of information to be had. "You couldn't see his face at all?" That was strange. Wouldn't someone at least want to be able to see what they were doing or who they were attacking?
"Wolf tail and ice magic...not a lot to go off of." He tried to think, though all the wolves he could think of didn't have a gray tail, they weren't terribly common in the city area. "Did he say anything at all? Any clues to why he would do this?"
