Something was happening. She was happening. She was coming, she hadn't lied -- she was going to be here soon, she was going to be here now. Any second now, and...

The tension in the air reached a fever pitch. The wind, curiously, picked up along with it. It had started as just a breeze, and soon it had elevated into a gust, and then into a veritable galestorm that tugged at people's scarves and threatened to rip their hats off. Ainsley and Istas were just about blown away. Dogby wriggled in the safe haven of Tony's arms, at clear risk of facing a similar fate. Above and around them, the jingling and the tinkling of the bells had turned rapid and dissonant, and there was a piercing howl above them from the wind passing over gaps between buildings.

And as the wind sped up and intensified, so did the snow. Before, it was gently drifting from above, just enough to create a festive air -- now, it was swirling around them in a massive cyclone with the fountain at the epicenter. Visibility was dwindling fast. They were surrounded by diamond dust that was assaulting them from all sides, with the occasional flurry of thicker snowflakes that made it look like they were lost in a sea of static. It provided more than enough cover to anyone to power up, had they the inclination to do so.

The blizzard blew around them at full, terrible force. The fountain was rumbling, and a wave of cold air blasted everyone so forcefully that made them step away. It was white and cold and windy all around them, the bells had gone frantic; the cyclone of snow swirled ever faster around them until, suddenly, a piercing crystalline sound rang over everything else they were hearing. Then another. And another.

The snow and ice was... condensing into something, and slowly, everyone was able to see more than just their noses in front of their faces. The brick-tiled ground of the Town Square had been broken by arrays of icicles jutting up from all around them: some tiny, some as tall as your leg, and others as tall as the giant Hammie was. In the middle of it all they could see a figure, sitting atop a makeshift throne of ice that had been fashioned from the fountain:

BOSS BATTLE! HOW TO PLAY

  • This battle is going to take place over however many rounds it takes to defeat the enemy. Each round is started with a battle action by the boss!

  • After the start of each round, you have TWO HOURS to post a battle action unless stated otherwise. Please pay attention to the timestamps and try not to post after that period! This is being done so the boss’s HP total can be accurately updated -- it’s a bit difficult to do that if people keep posting.

  • You can write a battle action with ONLY ONE CHARACTER PER ROUND. This means that if you roll an attack for Sailor Jimmy, you cannot also roll an attack for Lieutenant Bob in that round!

  • Any character can enter the fight at any time, so don’t worry if you weren’t here at the beginning.

  • If you’re a civilian, you can take a battle action by rolling one 10-sided die to do damage with whatever’s available around you.

  • If you’re a powered character, you can take a battle action by rolling one 20-sided die. This means that no matter what you’re doing, whether it’s a magical attack or a hit with your weapon, you still roll ONE D20.

  • If you’re a snow dancer, you can heal your princess by rolling one 10-sided die.

  • Chronos’ Season Escalation currently has no effect in Destiny City’s limits.

  • Princess Kaguya is not a force to be trifled with, and possesses magic that is nothing like anything you have ever faced before. If you want to save Destiny City -- and the rest of the world -- from the icy demise she wishes to bring to it, you’re going to have to play by her rules!

DON'T POST ANY BATTLE ACTIONS UNTIL THE NEXT POST -- but feel free to RP normally until then!

Castille came panting down the sidewalk, three snowglobes in her backpack. Each of them had a winter hat wrapped around it to keep it from breaking. For days these things had haunted her dreams, and waking hours.

And now they wanted her to go to the Town Square.

Seeing the large amount of people, she wondered if they too had heard the gentle voice, sen the blue eyes and silver hair of the maiden within the snowglobe. She squeezed in next to a couple people and, seeing that everyone had decided to place them in some giant pile, she stepped forward, twisting her backpack so that it was in front of her.

Castille removed each hat, peeling it away to reveal the troublesome snowglobe. Her breath made fog on the cold glass as she placed each one among the others.

Suddenly, things were changing. A swirl of snow and ice revealed not the figure from teh snowglobe, but another, crueler loking figure. She jumped back from the pile, shouting in alarm.

Gabbie ducked her head and wind and snow whipped at her hair. This strange violence wasn't how she'd imagined her Princess appearing. And when it was over and she glanced up, she felt a cold rage burning her heart. That.. that... THING was not her Princess. She had been tricked. Whoever it was who sat on that icy throne wasn't whom Gabbie had so hoped to see.

Glancing around, she saw with more than a little relief that Audrey had run off to find Elzo and everyone else nearby was too busy being disoriented and frightened to notice a couple of senshi transforming. With a nod to Hammie, she pulled out her henshin pen and shouted, "Saiph Star Power, Make-Up!"

Within moments, a very disgruntled Sailor Saiph stood in the snow, glaring daggers at the person who dared to call herself their Princess.

************************

Even as Gabbie was transforming, Hammie did his best to shield her from view before realizing that in the confusion, no would was really paying any attention to them. Well. Gabbie would have some backup then. Seizing his own pen, he thrust it into the air before barking out the words, "Alshain Power, Make-up!"

The sensation of transforming was still new and strange enough that he couldn't help but marvel at it. Yet, when the energy died down, Sailor Alshain stood beside his teammate and partner, ready to supply whatever help she might need.

The look of 'who the hell do you think you are!?' on Bell's face when the snow woman had called herself their princess was clear, and venomous. Bell knew without a doubt that this was not the princess the Senshi in some form or another were moved by.

Being at the back of the pack made it easy to slip away and transform. Bell didn't need to ask questions to determine that this was a baddie that needed to be defeated. She didn't need to know what trickery had brought so many people here, and had summoned this ice woman, but Bell was determined to put a stop to this dark winter before things got too much further.
Returning on rooftop was Sailor Bellatrix.

It was perhaps a good thing that Coralie had been backing away from the fountain when the wind picked up, searching for some shelter that she might be able to stay warm and keep vigil all night for what she thought would be happening.

It was not at all what she had expected.

Ice sprang from the ground, the wind screamed, and when her vision cleared a blast from the past was clear for everyone to see. Horror blossomed in the heart of the teenager. Kaguya?! She had seen her die! She had helped her die! All over twenty years ago on that night when Planet Power had permitted Super Sailor Moon to use her ginzuishou with absolutely no true repercussion. They had unfrozen the Earth and...was that was all this was about? Bells chimed and jingled as the young teen immediately tried to find the nearest obstruction to henshin behind. It was easy enough to press into the center of the Christmas tree with the press of bodies nearby and utter her transformation phrase in a voice that was so coldly controlled it was almost scary from a girl so small. All of that broke when that diminutive pink figure shot from the inside of the tree with the sound of a shattering ornament.

"Kaguya! You do not belong here! In the name of the Moon, I will remove you!" It was probably hopeless, but it was her job. It was her calling. She was Sailor Chibimoon and this was her home.

Istas had pulled away from Alexis, ushering a run when the winds picked up. Oh this wasn't good, she looked around for a place to henshin... there was too many people here to do it. She'd get hurt! She frowned as she found a place to transform finally and called her phrase. Running to stand by Sailor Chibimoon, who called the lady's name.

She frowned, "Why are they always bad guys?" She asked curiously.

Azzo's honey brown eyes widened as he watched the ice princess show up. He frowned curiously, "Stupid forces of evil, always wanting to take over." He rolled his eyes.

Senri's eyes were immediately drawn to their surroundings, catching sight of one of two small girls that had arrived. The blizzard was a challenge for many, but as little Ainsley nearly toppled over, Senri caught the young girl from behind to steady her. The wind tore his jacket open, the clothing hanging loosely from Senri's body. "Be careful." He warned the young girl, and stood back up.

When the cold wind and snow intensified, the interest that Senri held turned into a distrustful feeling. He backed away, a grimace upon his face. Inwardly, he was glad for his cynical nature. What people had placed so much hope in was not the hope they had wanted. The ground beneath him shook, but it was difficult to notice with the blizzard and commotion around them. But he was beginning to become accustomed to these odd and unexpected events that occurred, meaning to jump back just in time to avoid an ice shard that pierced through the spot where he had just been. If only Ainsley hadn't been there, but she had.

"Sh...!" Senri didn't have time to finish the profanity, pushing little Ainsley forward. it was an abrupt action, it didn't make any sense to the little girl.

Senri was a few feet away, having caught himself before he fell. A thin cut through his clothes, and a trickle of blood from the injury where the shard had scraped him.

"Stay near me!" Tony yelled for Azzo and Randy, bracing himself and holding on to Dogby. She whined and whimpered, crying against the snow and wind. She hated the sound, only a few weeks old after all, and she hated the feeling in the air.

Tony watched in surprise as icicles jutted up from the ground, moving just out of the way of one by side stepping. He was glad he had his cane with him, at least: he always felt better when he had a 'weapon'.

He was still glued to the spot, though, despite a thought to get the hell out of there. No, he couldn't, not while people he knew were in danger. Azzo and Randy, and everyone else he knew or didn't in the crowd.

He was going to do what he could. With his stumpy legged corgi puppy and cane. And the shivering that come over him, either by cold or thrill or fear, or a mixture of all three.

That was intimidating, he was sure.

"Randy, can you take Dogby?" He asked, looking at him in that parental 'you should probably do this' way, glancing at Azzo in turn, "stay together." No questions asked: they were officially adopted as his wards for the night. He did agree with Azzo, though. Sometimes he wondered why they didn't all move, or why this city was particularly good to start world domination from. But he didn't really need the details.

Not with a scantily clad ice devil drawing their attention.

The harsh wind spiraled the tiny snow dancer around as she gazed upon the scene below. She had awoken to this mysterious world not knowing who she was or why she was there, but she couldn't help but be curious as to why these... strange creatures were crowding around a centerpiece.

It was a fountain... The term came to her, suddenly, as though she was waking up from a long sleep and had forgotten everything in her hours... days... years?... of slumber.

Tinsel stretched her arms and legs, twisting around as the wind continued to whip around her. She knew at once that she wasn't alone. There were more just like her... But why? For what purpose? She felt comfortable, though, as if she was meant to be there, as if she'd been woken for just this purpose.

Suddenly there was no longer a fountain in the center of the whited-out gathering, but a throne...!! Tinsel's heart leapt in her chest, her icy blue eyes growing wide as the figure became more clear, more familiar.

"Y-your Highness!" the little snow dancer squeaked in excitement as she flew closer with the wind, bowing to her Princess once she was close enough. "Long live the Princess!" she exclaimed, taking her place nearby the throne, now lowered to the ground and grown to full human size, as opposed to the tiny snow flake she was before, "Your wish is my command, Princess!"

Although she wasn't really sure what was going on, Tinsel would make sure her Princess got whatever it was she desired.

-A sound of surprise escaped her as the weather suddenly changed in a manner far too drastic to be normal. Her feelings of curiousity and hope were shattered like one of the snowglobes, a feeling of dread creeping up her spine along with the frigid chill of the wind.

Her arms lifted to shield her eyes from the assaulting snow, her braids whipping aggresively behind her. As the snow faded and the woman declared herself the princess Aurora steadied herself. This was bad.. really really bad. There were so many people here, so many people that could be hurt. All she could do is pray that people tried to run out of fear.-

-It was the sudden appearance of jutting ice spears of doom mere inches from her foot that had alerted Aitana to the danger that was presenting itself. The blinding blizzard of snow was perfect cover and she didn't bother to think about whether she should, the figure of Sailor Juno standing where Aitana had once been when the snow settled enough to bring the icy woman into view.

Princess!? She seethed, her teeth gritted, and not against the cold. She already had HER princess. But this was no princess at all. Not Small Lady's mother. Not the kind voice reassuring them over the past days. How dare she lie. How dare she come here and try to ruin their Christmas. Ruin HER wrestling prize!!!

Her eyes glanced over the battlefield, attempting the judge the best path through people and ice spears, her hands balling to fists.-

"Woahhhhhh" -The man's eyes grew wide as an onslaught of 'what the ********' presented itself before him, stepping back cautiously as the snow pressed him backwards. Ad... ver...tisment?-

The cover of swirling snow was a blessing, and so was Perry's survival instinct. Granted, he had never exactly been in a situation like this ever in his life -- all of the dangerous ruts he had been in involved it being more hot than cold -- but it was enough to go by to recognize that he did not have the resources at hand to handle this. Or, at least, he didn't as the man named Perry Westerman.

His cautious anxiety gave way to an expanse of calm as he turned the key in that little mental lock in his brain, unleashing what he'd oddly come to know as the rest of him: fabric swirled, a rope undulated about about him, and an eternity's worth of knowledge pushed outward and coalesced into his hands in the form of a starlight-colored orb roughly the size of his head. Kurma landed on the ground, scowling disapprovingly at all the snow pelting his face and arms, before his eyes trailed up to the icy woman who had taken form above the fountain.

And, he tilted his head. This did not look good... didn't feel good, either. There were senshi all around him, thankfully, but there was no telling if that was enough.

There was daylight, and it was then that Nemesis grimly noted that she may have been at her planet for a few hours too long. She was sure she could bullshit some excuse as to why she was out all night when she did manage to make it back home to her own bed. She was exhausted, enough that she wanted to power down, catch a cab, and go home. But there was no way in hell that she was powering down now, not when she was here.

The Senshi of Decay glanced over her shoulder, idly giving Alkaid a once-over. "Damn, you look like s**t." Wasn't that how Nemesis had greeted her when they met in the middle of the night? Well, it was something like that. If anything, Alkaid looked more worn out than Nemesis, but that was because Nemesis had brutally made sure that Alkaid continued to use her attack so they could explore the expanses of planet Nemesis. She had used the light that Alkaid had provided her with, and while she did use the girl, she felt a small twinge of regret. Alkaid had helped her. It was a step up from worthless-as-s**t in her book.

The pair of super senshi were standing on the roof of a tall building, and from there Nemesis noticed that something was definitely off. What looked to be only a few blocks away was some weird-as-s**t blizzard. It was baffling that a blizzard so strong would be focused in that one area. It should have consumed the city. Something felt off, and again Nemesis found herself looking back to Alkaid for confirmation that something was wrong. "I need a vacation..." she groaned softly. Nemesis was going to check it out. Her gut feeling was telling her to.

"You coming? Or am I going to be doing this s**t by myself." There may have been the slightest hints of a pout tugging on her lips, as if she was trying to guilt-trip Alkaid into coming with her. Nemesis had shown her the planet Nemesis! Nemesis had made sure to bring Alkaid back home in one piece! She deserved a little back-up, even if that back-up wasn't much to speak of.

Without further ado, she climbed down from the top of the building, landing a little shakily in the alleyway before. Damn, she was tired, but she couldn't escape the feeling that she needed to investigate...

And a few minutes later she was so not anywhere near being ******** wrong in her gut feeling. "No way is an ice b***h claiming to be my princess," she grumbled to herself, and the only one who was likely to hear was her current partner-in-crime, Alkaid. "In the name of Nemesis, I will break you apart, piece by piece!" No one else here seemed to be reacting kindly to the Ice b***h. Nemesis was confident that her feeling of WRONG and WRONGER was correct.

She was going to be taking care of some s**t today.

Paris closed his eyes against the howling wind and snow. His numb face felt frozen, and his ears rang from the noise caused by the sudden, violent storm. He was almost blown back and held his ground by sheer will, struggling to maintain his balance against the powerful wind blowing against him.

When the world settled -- if it had truly settled at all -- he slowly opened his eyes in the hopes that he would see the woman there, that the gust of wind and snow had merely come to herald her arrival... but he was to be disappointed, as he'd feared he would be.

That wasn't the woman from the snowglobe at all. Definitely a woman, and she proclaimed herself a princess, but she looked nothing like the brief glimpses he'd managed to catch in his dreams. He had been duped. In closing his eyes, he'd lost track of his snowglobes and in their place now was a strange looking... he didn't know. Woman, yes, but what was she? It looked as if she were made from ice!

Paris had done a marvelous job avoiding most of the insanity that occurred in this damned city, but now it seemed he'd been drawn directly into ******** my life," he cursed, tempted to flee right then and there.

Ainsley had been watching with the utmost excitement when the wind seemed to pick up after a strange noise. At first Ainsley thought nothing of it, except for holding on tighter to her white plush bunny Octavian Oswald, but then the wind elevated and elevated until Ainsley nearly flew backwards thanks to the wind. Thanks to Senri though, the small child had not blown very far. It was just a little bump and slowly the small child was about to turn around when she was suddenly pushed forward, letting out a very loud squeal as she fell onto the ice.

"Ah?!" She said, barely able to make out any words out as she tried to scramble off the ice but when she turned around she hit a rather large ice shard... where she had just been standing? She took a deep breath, and then as she looked around the shard she seen someone. It was Senri... he had saved her? She felt very warm in her cheeks and soon enough the girl found herself blushing, and then teary as she noticed his injuries.

"Senri!" She called out as she ran over to him. "Senri are you okay?"

The small child had tears sliding down her face as she looked at the young man with the most worried expression ever. She didn't know what happened? Why did he save her? Why'd he have to get hurt? Why was all this happening? She didn't know what to do and then it happened. The trembling in the fountain grabbed the small child's attention and when she looked she seen a figure there. The figure announced she was a princess. It was the princess she had been looking for earlier!

"Why..." was all the child was able to get out.
