Sola sleeps peacefully until she can hear him gasping beside her. She considers asking but hesitates, her eyes not even open. She does not feel like waking unless there is another vampire nearby.

Desmond heard rifle fire in the distance... 'hunters...' he thought grimly. He hopped out of the bed and put on the closest thing he could find Tina jacket, it was a white leather jacket with higher collars covering his mouth if zipped all the way, he zipped it halfway and picked up his "rifle. He bleached his hair and let it set, it burned but he had no choice, he was fighting for the vampires.
"Sola, wake up."
He said coldly with his hair bleached blonde and his leather jacket's collar hid part of his ears, he extended a hand and would help her up. Outside screams were heard, fire was burning and shots were fired. It was utter chaos.

It takes only seconds for Sola to register what is going on. She sits up and takes Desmond's hand when he offers it. She nods slightly in approval to his disguise. As long as no vampires were to get too close, he would be safe. She pinpoints the exact direction the commotion is coming from.
"We'd best get moving, they're following our tracks.." She says, narrowing her eyes at how close the sounds are. They wont have time to escape through the front door so she grabs his arm and leads him through a secret back entrance.
"Get on my back, I can run faster for both of us." She says, looking at him.

Desmond poped a few rounds into a pouch in the jacket, he slid one into the rifle and strapped it on his shoulder. Desmond nodded and held her by the waist, he moved his legs up and held on. If he had to his rifle was in easy reach and was positioned to fire behind him.
"Why does this always happen to me?"
He asked, not to the exact event but to the fact that he had to abandon lives once more.

Sola's eyes flash with anger.
"Forget them, they had the chance to run at the first scent of the hunters but these vampires are foolish and will take the blood of any living creature that crosses their path!" She says, starting to run. Half the forest is ablaze, which makes it that much more dangerous for Desmond.
"Try not to breathe in the smoke." She warns, leaning forward slightly and running at an inhuman speed through the trees. Everything seems to jump out the way as she races through. On the other side is a frozen lake. If they can cross the lake safely then they wont have to worry about anything. She speeds up more when it comes into view and soon they are sliding across the semi-thick ice. However, Sola hadn't been expecting them to be ambushed by one of her own and she gasps as the shot rings out, toppling over and releasing Desmond at the same time. She rolls while sliding more than a few meters away, paralyzed by the bullet that has pierced her left leg.

Desmond rolls and lands crouched with his rifle out, he fired it at the person's chest and it pierced through their ribs, as the figure dropped he looked at Sola and ran towards her, he extracted the bullet and loaded it into his own rifle, he was shot in the back and at the same time he fired his rifle and shot the figure's head. Coughing he hit the ground and his blood began spreading across the snow.

((Its alright)) Sola's eyes widen as she sees him fall.
"Desmond!" She cries out, getting up with difficulty and limping to him. A shot flies past her head and she slips from shock, falling next to him. She takes him in her arms and, ripping off the sleeves to her own jacket, creates a makeshift tourniquet around his wound. Picking up his rifle, she swiftly kills whoever is left. She's took weak to carry him off the ice so instead she just holds him in her arms, taking off what is left of her jacket and setting fire to it after laying it on a rock and moving close to it to try and keep Desmond warm. She looks at him, worried.

Desmond breathed heavily, he was bleeding and limp. His mind was dizzy and his vision was blurry, he saw Sola's outline and looked to his chest. The bullet pierced his back and went through his right lung, he was dying and he was scared. He struggled to breath in and he begged for her mercy. He wanted to survive, there were three options:
Attempt to save his life
Turn him
Let his kind find him and try to save him
His odds of survival were slim to none but they were still odds, he reached an uncoordinated hand towards her face and grazed her hair. He smiled and weakly spoke simple slow words.
"Destiny is a b***h."
He breathe outward as a laugh and coined up blood, he had about an hour at most if he wasn't treated. And his odds for surviving were about 10% he was dying in her arms.
'So this is it... Death for freedom... Father, I never want to see your disgraceful face. Not even in heaven nor hell.'
He thought and closed his eyes, he was warmer but cold. He lost enough blood to be pale, almost white as the snow.

Sola can hear the heavy steps of the hunters approaching. To be turned by a daywalker would be considered an honor and a curse. You would become a daywalker yourself, but the other vampires would hate you. She caresses his hair before leaning forward and bringing her lips to his neck.
"I wont let you die." She can hear the shouts of the men as they come to surround her and Desmond, but she pays no mind. She digs into his neck and begins to drink deeply, her fangs secreting a venom-like substance that spreads quickly through his veins. She closes her eyes, hearing the men surround them and all taking aim with their shotguns. She can hear shouts and cries of recognition but still pays no mind, determined to save Desmond's life. The blood from his back stains her forearms and her clothes.

Desmond writhed in pain, his veins were sore and his mind was broken. He shook uncontrollably and heard another group enter the area, attracted by the scent of blood more vampires poured onto the ice, then it began to crack under the pressure. As they all scrambled most of the ice was gone under however a bridge of ice allowed Sola to escape if they could reach the end in time.
The pain, it was like searing heat in a cold body... Hell on earth... He let out a loud shout and noticed clouds were departing, the vampires retreated as the humans began to escape on foot. Desmond's vision and mind went blank for a moment and he began to go through a change.
(( I think we could continue with this as a common flashback, a year into the future after this event fine with you? ))

((Sure. You are implying that right now is the end of the flashback right?))
Finally Sola releases him. She slowly stands, carrying him in her arms still, and begins to limp across the ice bridge. However, the ice cracks completely and both fall into the water. A current sweeps them out toward a river opening hidden between two hills and she holds onto him in the fear of losing him to the current. He isn't completely changed yet and can drown much faster than she, so she holds her mouth against his and keeps him supplied with air until she finds a spot in the ice where they can break through..... ((I'll let you be the one to take it out of the flashback this time ^ . ^))

(( This 1/1 is like memories biggrin I will after a few more posts, I can't control cravings like you can. ))
Desmond was still in pain while they were under water, they reached a clearing and the ice was quite thin, it was unlike him but his arm flailing from the pain broke the ice and he held on for dear life. He was surprised realizing he was mouth to mouth with Sola, but she was saving his life. He filled his good lung with her air and extended the amount of time he could hold his breath for, and he could hold it for quite some time speaking that he was an ace marksman.

((Alright lolz)) Once he breaks the ice, Sola heaves him out of the water, knowing that in doing so she will be swept further by the current. Her wound has greatly weakened her and it wont be long before she completely loses consciousness. Just before she gets him out, she manages to dislodge the bullet stuck in his chest. A piece of broken ice slams into her unexpectedly and she falls deeper down, releasing him just in time. Soon she is gone with the strong current of the river.

Desmond gasped as he breathed in air, he lay flat on the ice but the pain only increased as the venom seared his heart and his wound. He let himself relax and he became unconscious, unlike the other times he felt all the pain his body went through as he changed. Desmond lay flat until he could awaken, not as a human but a vampire.
((( Meet up with him so she could help him with his urges to feed... )))

((lol don't worry, she wont get too far away ^ . ^)) After much struggling, Sola finds her way back to the surface. There is a spot in the ice where it is completely broken in and she takes that as her chance to escape the water. She lays there and rests for a bit, feeling the morning rays of the sun creeping up on her. After what seems like ages, she finally manage to get back to her feet. She follows the river to where she had left Desmond, hoping that he is still there.
