At least he wasn't the only one who was late, although he was a little surprised that they weren't in trouble or anything. Not that he was complaining, he didn't want to be in trouble, but it was still a little odd. Didn't teachers want their students all to arrive on time?
He still hadn't found anything particular to demons that hadn't already been said, although he had found a couple that were dangerous to Reapers. Also, there were a lot of plants that were related to love potions. A lot. He hadn't realized that love potions were that common, he certainly had no plans to use one, but perhaps it was a popular thing at certain points in time.
He pulled out his faculty career assessment form, slipping it into the page after the one he was currently writing on. He needed to get it done, and Professor Cadmus seemed like as good of a subject as any. Plus, it wasn't like Myr had been in too many classes at this point, and, out of all the teachers he had had, this one seemed the least likely to get upset about him filling out the form. Besides, it wasn't like he wasn't going to pay attention, this was important stuff to know.

Cadmus sighed at the new found quietness that had fallen over his students.
"Okay, I gather not many are willing to speak about what is dangerous for demons. So grabbing the bull by the horns I'll say it. Southernwood - When made into a lotion it can be used to help cover noticeable and potent smells. When burnt it also creates a sweet smell that is said to ward off demons. Now lets move on shall we."
He wrote Southernwood down next to demons on the line. Then he wrote below Demons, Reapers.
"Lets see if we have a bit more participation for reapers. And, lets not forget we are missing one for monsters, more closely were-creatures."
((NOTE FOR STUDENTS/OWNERS The sooner we get all this covered the better, My goal is for everyone to get at least 1 participation point. If you have difficulty finding things specifically dangerous let me know and I will help you. I do not mind students answering more then once, as it add to the thread activity so fret not if your student earns 5 participation points, or if you only get listed as only having participation point even though you answer 10 questions. I am going to try and make it far across the board for everyone to participate to include those that may be dealing with rl issues. I think I shall go to adding 2nd participation points after everyone has earned 1. I have recorded Attendance as well, I will also add anyone who still comes in late. Introduction attendance will most likely not count toawrd your final if you missed it because many students did not make that class. For only Two students that went there did not return,as of yet. Any concerns please PM me. I do hope to close out the class by the end of next week if not earlier))

While she wanted to give others a chance, Carthusia looked about the room and noticed hardly anyone else was answering the professor's questions. Well, one way to earn bonus points would be to participate! She searched through the book again and took some additional notes before raising her hand to answer the question. "It says here that Cress is really bad for monsters, especially were-creatures... And as for Reapers..." Pride continued, skimming through the book with a finger, "Monkshood can break a reaper's connection with their weapon."
There was nothing specific to humans except for cooking items, but not all reapers were human. Tapping her chin, she found one more. "Angelica, if used correctly, can harm a reaper as well." She'd have to keep these notes somewhere safe, just in case! Such knowledge could be valuable in the future!

Though the professor did have a point, Astra felt a little nervous when they began to branch of into what was dangerous to reapers. It felt weird to know they were talking about something could potentially kill her...
And, although she had already given a answer, it seemed many of the other students were hardly listening. Which wasn't such a bad thing, considering it would be less students that would know how to poison her. At any rate, it wouldn't hurt to get a few bonus points.
"Well...there is a herb thats called the Belladonna..." She started to say. "It doesn't hurt reapers...but it can be used to suppress magical abilities. And since some reapers rely heavily on magic, it would severely weaken them."

Hmph, well it seemed like the professor was looking for more specific answers, rather than general things that were dangerous. Not that Aksaja cared, mind you. But wasn't that one ghoul a know-it-all? Geez. He rolled eyes slightly and flipped through the book some more. But he didn't see anything else that specifically mentioned or referenced Reapers.
Oh well.

They had missed one for monsters?
Tsetsiliya flipped through her book, trying to find the answers necessary. After reading this book back to front, she was still drawing blanks! It seemed as soon as she came across one, a student would call out the answer. Her cheeks reddened. Oh well, there was always next time.
For the moment, she scribbled down her notes, then, with a discreet glance across the classroom, pulled out the faculty evaluation form she had gotten from the Career Counseling office and slipped it behind her notes. With appraisal in her eyes, she scribbled here and there on her notes, pausing every few seconds to fill in an answer on the questionnaire.

Cadmus chuckled and ran his hand through his hair.
"Well I that didn't take long."
He wrote down all the answers on the board before writing down the last two sections.
"The Undead and Ghosts. As well as any additional plants that are dangerous to all, if you all have not covered them."
He was still rather pleased with the turn out. He knew... or had been informed not many were interested in taking Botany because they found BORING... Cadmus merely didn't understand it however would not judge his students for it. This class was merely the stepping stone to the funner classes. Not that he didn't like it because he loved his plants. He frowned and looked down at a notebook on his desk and scribbled in it making a note to himself 'Remember to talk about the second class offered.'

"Garlic is unpleasant to the undead," Malodore said, and if it could have scowled it would have. That, too, was included in those old recipe books from the Human World. Basil and garlic! Often used together! Ugh! Why not throw in some deadly nightshade while they were at it just to finish the job?!

Israfel debated about speaking up and drawing attention to himself again. He'd rather not, but, he was curious and, he was in class, and so far, this teacher didn't look ready to kill him or make him want to cry in a corner from shame and bringing dishonor. Dishonor on them all. Raising a hand he waiting before asking. "Wouldn't any plant considered 'Holy' by humans have an adverse effect on the undead? Like holy to humans. It just, with some stories you can hear of the great scare masters of the past and holy things..." Trailing off into a mumble, Israfel sank a bit into his seat, thinking his question was a tad dumb.

He finally had the chance to answer a question, and he took the chance while he could.
"Hawthorne is used to ward off ghosts," Myr added, glancing down at his book. He was a little confused about it. "But it also says that it can be used to make a tea to heal sore throats. Can ghosts take it? Or is it just as dangerous to them in that form?"
He wasn't sure if he was allowed to ask questions, but this was a class, and it was confusing him. Besides, who better to ask than the Botany teacher.

Glancing up at the board, Aksaja noticed finally that even though he hadn't said anything, the Professor had actually written his first answer up there. His estimation of the man's listening skills rose just a bit at that, though he'd still rather be elsewhere. This stuff didn't really interest him.
Hmn. Maybe he should fill out that Evaluation Form like so many others were doing. Seemed like a good enough time for it . . .

"Great!."
Quite pleased with his class he beamed. Though some students seemed to have dwindled to taking some extensive note, he minded none. If they were intent on ignoring class discussion to take note down he'd not stop them.
"To answer a few questions. In regards to 'holy' plants, no. They are not specific in the plant world to what is holy and what is not, they can be used in ceremonies because the believe them holy, but I have yet to find any plants that are truly holy. So I should probably say rather that to my vast knowledge there is no such thing as a holy plant. However holy artifacts hold a different story. That was a good question though. Any plant that they say is holy is just a label."
Cadmus picked a leaf from his staff, a new one growing the moment the leaf was picked. He held it up as if showing it as an example.
"It would be as if I decided to claim this leaf was holy. However when it boils down to it, this leaf is nothing but a leaf from a plant that is alike other plants. It has properties that make this leaf magical, like other plants have properties that make them good for healing. When it comes to Holy items and artifacts, those are created for the human's 'beliefs', where plants were not created for something like that, just incorporated into their belief system. Does that make sense?"
He then let the leaf fall to the ground and watched as it seemed to crawl away across the floor to the green room.
"And as for Hawthorne. I don't think a ghost has ever dared try taking it for a sore throat. There is on odd property in Hawthorne that only seems to be found in the Hawthorne that grows in the crossworlds that effects ghost's. Outside you can see no difference between crossworlds Hawthorne and that found here. It seems to be a difference between the two worlds that brings out this property. In all honesty I don't think the tea would affect ghost, but to play it safe I would suggest not trying."
He grinned Glad that a few questions had even come up from the discussion.
"Now have we any other questions?"
As he asked the class that he turned to the board and Started to write down the homework.
((Okay Because religion is touchy I hope I don't offend anyone with the view on plants in regards to being holy. If I did offend anyone feel free to Pm me and let me know, as well as explain why it offended you. I will post up the homework within the next few days. You are free to post questions to Cadmus or pm questions to me, comments, remarks, criticism, and or colorful language. I may be sensitive and have my feelings hurt but that's how we grow and learn so i am open to anything you want to throw at me ^.^))

Designer's Side
"Homework ^.^
Yes dreadful as it sounds you have homework. I know I'm such a horrid teacher. Anyway hopefully your homework won't turn out to be so bad in your opinion.
Your Homework is... Drawing
Now I know we've likely got a great few artists in class and quite a few that shouldn't even be allowed to draw stick figures, but tis no matter. I will be fair on grading and will not grade based on skill but participation.
I'm such an easy teacher not giving you severe grades and such.
Now onto what you will be drawing. You will be drawing a plant from your book. Any of them to be precise. However you won't be drawing them from another example or description, but drawing them based of what you think they look like given their magical and/or healing abilities as well as their name.
Any Questions? If you have none now you can always find me in here, or in the Green room off to the side. Elsewise You all are dismissed"
{OOC Wise: Go wild and crazy. Draw bad if you want, draw good if you desire. Do a quick ms paint doodle do a ps masterpiece. I don't care, we've got busy lives and a busy life is why their is no physical description under the plants OTL. I was hoping to have some of them done by now but >.> Anyway. Be creative be funny, stay true to your characters because like I said I'm not grading on skill, just on participation. Now if you have questions Pm me, concerns pm me. If you don't like pms well I'll need you to pm me and we can figure out another way to discuss stuff, because I have AIM MSNM and YIM I just need to know prior so a pm asking me for my info lets me know to get on xD, If you wanna research the plants to draw them by all means go ahead, however I'm not looking for accuracy. Just have fun with it. You can even doodle on paper and scan it and such. Also I believe I got everyone on the attendance list if you could please double check the list in the first post that would be Love.}

Drawing? Malodore blinked. That... wasn't exactly what it had been expecting, at all. Perhaps going out and searching for herbs? But this could be interesting... hmm. What might various of the plants look like? It already knew what basil and garlic were like, thanks to the aforementioned old cookbooks... but perhaps it could apply the Doctrine of Signatures to some of the plants in the book. See how close it could get.
Without cheating, of course. That would make it boring.
